Abstract

The moral and mental degradation of students indicates low emotional intelligence in various countries, including Indonesia, with indicators of loss of manners, bad language, bullying, brawling, etc. This study aimed to determine the influence of students’ emotional intelligence levels on the manners character of 5th-grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah al-Islam Balesari, Magelang, Indonesia. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a nonequivalent control group design. Sampling was done by a random sampling technique with a purposive sampling type. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation with simple linear regression analysis assisted by SPSS 16 software for Windows. The results show that the average value of emotional intelligence in the experimental class is 79.4% (high-level category), while the control class is 72% (medium-level). On the other hand, the character of manners in the experimental class is 79% (very good category), and in the control class is 72% (sufficient category). The results indicate that there is an influence of students’ emotional intelligence on their manners and characters. The results of a simple regression test in the experimental class are Y = 11.354.–0.861 with a significant value of 0.00. The significance value is <0.05 (0.00<0.05), then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The results of a simple regression test in the control class are Y = 17,323- 0.760 with a significant value of 0.00, the significance value <0.05 (0.00 <0.05), then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The research findings concluded that the higher the level of emotional intelligence, the higher the manners of character, and vice versa. Further research needs to be conducted to explore the influence of emotional intelligence on the students’ character as a whole

Abstract

Literacy skills will be optimally honed if they are introduced from the elementary education level. The important role of literacy skills as an integral part of receiving or disseminating information. So that literacy becomes an important thing that must be understood by someone, especially in order to be able to receive and exchange information properly. The purpose of this study is to analyze the literacy skills of students through the study programs available at MI Modern SAKTI Permatahati IBU Tulungagung. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with the type of case study research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this study were students of grades IV, V and VI. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of the study, there are four important factors that encourage increased literacy of students, namely factors of learning resources, learning materials, learning and evaluation strategies, as well as factors that are directly related to the head of the madrasa, teachers and students as parties who are directly involved with the teaching and learning process that held. The MI Modern SAKTI Permatahati IBU Tulungagung formulates four factors and encourages successful learning by implementing literacy programs as an effort to improve literacy quality.

Abstract

English language learning in primary schools is still not optimal. This is because English is not given explicitly. This factor makes children's interest in learning English decrease. Therefore, teachers are required to make English learning more fun and attract children's attention by adding a variety of learning media in the teaching and learning process. This research is a Classroom Action Research, which is research conducted in the classroom with an emphasis on improving or enhancing learning processes and practices. The application of learning media Cartoon Pictures can improve student learning outcomes on the material Jobs and Professions. In detail, the increase in the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes in cognitive aspects can be seen in cycle I which in the initial condition only amounted to 31.57% increased to 73.68%. After the action was taken again in cycle II, the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes also increased to 100%. Furthermore, an increase also occurred in the percentage of learning outcomes in the affective aspect in cycle I of 68.24% of students in the good and very good categories, increasing to 84.21% of students in the good and very good categories. Future research needs to explore the use of cartoon media in English language learning in elementary schools in various materials.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to investigate the correlation between second-grade students’ self-confidence, self-efficacy and their speaking ability at the MA Miftahul Ishlah. This study applied a quantitative method with a correlational research design. The questionnaire and documentation were applied as the instrument to collect the students’ data. There were two questionnaires that were used, that was students’ self-confidence and students’ self-efficacy questionnaire, while students’ speaking score was taken from English teachers’ document. Based on the questionnaire the highest result of the self-confidence questionnaire was 97 and the lowest was 71, while the highest result of the self-efficacy questionnaire was 94 and the lowest was 72, for speaking achievement the highest result was 95 and the lowest was 70. After analyzing the variable of this research X1 (self-confidence) X2 (self-efficacy) and Y (speaking) by Pearson Product Moment and multiple correlations in the SPSS program, it was found r = .693 for correlation between students’ self-confidence with speaking and self-confidence with self-efficacy, and r = .230 for students’ self-efficacy with speaking. While the multiple correlation score showed r = .701 with a coefficient determination of 46.1%. Based on that result, it was indicated that the correlation was strong, so the alternative hypothesis stating that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, it means there was a correlation between students’ self-confidence, self-efficacy and speaking ability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in scientific literacy competence in vector material by implementing the flipped classroom learning model with the help of interactive e-books. This research is in the form of best practice in implementing learning with research samples of class X IPA-1 students at MAN 2 Mojokerto. The results of the research analysis showed that the classical average value had a significant increase from the pre-test value of 49.67 to 84.52 in the post-test and the completeness of student learning outcomes also increased from 37% in the pre-test to 93% in the post-test. The implementation of the flipped classroom learning model assisted by interactive e-books can improve vector material science literacy competence and become the best experience (best practice) for teachers and have a positive impact on learning activities carried out by teachers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The problem formulation of this scientific paper is whether The Power of Five discussion method can improve the discussion writing skills of class IX MTsN 4 Blitar students? How to improve the skills of writing discussion texts through the discussion method The Power of Five students of class IX MTsN 4 Blitar? The author hopes to be able to describe that The Power of Five discussion method can improve the discussion writing skills of class IX MTsN 4 Blitar students. The benefit that can be obtained from scientific writing for madrasas is the teacher's creativity in teaching which of course has an impact on maximum student learning outcomes. Creativity using teaching methods makes the learning atmosphere not monotonous. For teachers, teachers continue to carry out learning innovations. In addition to eliminating boredom because of the routine of teaching, it also contributes to the idea that teaching is not only transferring knowledge but conveying a humanitarian message through various teaching methods. The subject matter is important but what is more important is the method of delivering the material. There is evidence that the discussion method of The Power of Five can improve the discussion writing skills of class IX MTsN 4 Blitar students. Abstract

This study aims to improve teachers' abilities in assessing aspects of students' attitudes with authentic assessments through in-house training. This research is a school action research (PTS). The research method was carried out through two cycles, carried out at Sindanggalih Elementary School, Tasikmalaya City, for the 2021/2022 academic year. Data obtained through observation and documentation. The results of each cycle were analyzed using a descriptive approach, then used as a reference for further action. Based on the data obtained, it is carried out in three stages, namely the preliminary, core, and closing stages. Trainer skills in implementing in-house training in cycle I is in the high category, namely 60% and has increased to 100% in cycle II. The in-house training model can increase teachers' skills in assessing attitude aspects. This is indicated by the increase in the ability of teachers from being able to the very capable category (50%) in cycle I to being in the very capable category (70%) and capable (30%) in cycle II. In-house training can increase teacher competence in carrying out affective aspect assessments.

Abstract

Public Speaking Technical Training is training that equips trainees with public speaking competence. Lack of knowledge and experience causes participants to have difficulty in mastering speech material, remembering scripts, unable to convey messages with the right intonation or gestures and do not to know how to composing speech texts. This research contributes to explaining how the competence of participants in technical public speaking training needs to be understood and mastered by ASN through a study of Aristotle's rhetorical studies. Aristotle's law of rhetoric consist of inventio, despositio, acutio, memoria and pronuntitio. Based on the results of interviews, observations and documentation, explained that in general, the participants were not familiar and understood the five basic laws of rhetorical studies for public speaking. Even after attending the training, the participants' speaking competence only slightly increased. This shows that the participants' understanding and application of the public speaking training material is still low. While the cognitive abilities of the participants increased after participating in the training, as indicated by the average post-test score of 40 participants of 78, which was higher than the pre-test average value of 52. Hence, it is necessary to have follow-up actions through training and continuous assistance in the practice of public speaking in order to deliver higher quality speaker, writer, moderator or presenter, by applying the five laws of Aristotle's rhetorical studies.

Abstract

Learning of Project of Strengthening The Pancasila Student Profile is a co-curricular learning that functions as a support for intra-curricular learning which is quite vigorously discussed in the Independent Curriculum. This project aims to improve the ability and build the character of students as Pancasila Students Profile through projects based learning related to problems that exist in the surrounding environment. This study aims to find out and analyze the application of the project learning to Strengthen Pancasila Student Profiles at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 3 Banyuwangi, the obstacles faced and how to overcome these obstacles. This type of research is qualitative research. The research was conducted in grade 7 for 7 months starting from August 2022 to February 2023. The participants in this study were 12 teachers at MTsN 3 Banyuwangi consisting of 10 class team coordinators and two project learning teachers, as well as several classes. Data collection in this study was carried out by means of semi structured interviews. The results of this study can be seen that MTsN 3 Banyuwangi has implemented the learning of The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project but it is still not maximum yet due to several obstacles experienced especially in the project learning process. The solutions carried out by Madrasah are giving dissemination regarding this project or about independent curriculum more often, forming expert team invited to discuss problems in the field with the project team of each class, forming a class coordinator group (trough with the whats app group) consisting of 10 teachers from 10 classes to facilitate coordination, strengthening class teams with frequent coordination between team members and also coordinating with the expert team, the teacher makes plans in the form of project time plans, teaching modules or teaching materials, the team of experts supervises the class regarding the implementation of project learning. The implications of solutions that have been carried out by Madrasah are that the application of project learning is getting better and more optimal, this is reinforced by an increase in teachers understanding on project learning as evidenced by project products of each theme from students who are in accordance what the expert team wants. As well as the existence of a copy study from several other Madrasahs both from within the city and out side the city to MTsN 3 Banyuwangi and asking about the process of implementing the independent curriculum, especially project learning.

Abstract

The development of this telegram learning media is based on the fact that students' listening and critical thinking skills are still lacking. This is due to the limitations of learning media in the delivery of Indonesian subject matter, especially in listening skills. With the development of this telegram learning media, it can help students learn easily. The purpose of this research and development is to determine the quality of the media in terms of practicality, validity and effectiveness of the media. The research method used by the researcher is Research and Development (R&D) with a model developed by Borg and Gall. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire, pre-test and post-test results, validation sheets and observations. The results showed that the development process went through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. As for the validity of the media, it shows that the results of the validation of the material experts get a score of 94.29, the results of the validation of the media experts get a score of 84.61 and the results of the validity by practitioners get a score of 95. The practicality of the media shows that the results of the teacher practicality questionnaire get a score of 95% and the results of the student practicality questionnaire obtained a score of 94.47%. The effectiveness of the telegram learning media got a score of 82.64. Based on the results of practicality, validity and effectiveness, it can be concluded that the practicality of the media is included in the very practical category, the validity of the media and materials is included in the very valid category, and the effectiveness of the media is included in the very good category.
