Abstract

This study was based on the tradition of the Sumba people touching their noses when meeting, commonly called Padeki Korru, carried out against people of the same sex or the opposite sex and has been carried out from generation to generation. The purpose of this study is to find out the views of Islamic law regarding the adat tradition of Padeki Korru. This study used a qualitative approach, with 12 sources of the population of West Sumba who were Muslims, non-Muslims, and Muallaf. This research shows that the Padeki Korru Tradition is a forbidden tradition, because it is out of the sharia provisions in the prohibition of touching non-mahrams. When viewed from the point of being a form of religious tolerance and avoiding gossip that is feared will lead to conflict, the researcher directs this to the second level of emergency, namely only in a state of urgency is allowed to practice traditions

Abstract

Guidance and counseling service innovation in the pandemic era is a necessity. Guidance and counseling services are carried out online, becoming a service model that is widely applied in madrasas. This study aims to describe the innovation of guidance and counseling services in madrasas. This study uses a survey approach and literature review. A literature review was carried out to examine various innovations in counseling services during the pandemic, while the difficulties of students in online-based counseling services were carried out in a survey. Research respondents are 383 students who receive online guidance and counseling services at Madrasah Tsanawiyah. Data collection was carried out by means of questionnaires and interviews with 30 Guidance and counseling teachers. The research instrument was sent by uploading a google form to the respondent. Data processing was carried out by descriptive statistics, while the data from interviews were analyzed deductively and qualitatively. The results showed that the innovation of guidance and counseling services was carried out on student needs assessment activities, counseling services, group guidance and classical services. The online service media used are Telephone, Video Call, WA, Facebook Messenger, e-learning, Google class, Youtube live streaming, Zoom, Google Meet which connects Guidance and counseling teachers with students. The process of online guidance and counseling services at madrasas is fun and easy and effective for students. In the implementation of online services, there are still obstacles in the guidance and counseling service infrastructure.

Abstract

This study aims at describing students’ perception about English Camp for the first-year student of English Education Study Program at Universitas Brawijaya on enhancing English proficiency through the three domains of learning. English Camp is innovation from English Education Study Program that begin from 2016. But, the perception of students who had joined English Camp are still unknown. The type of this study is descriptive, using quantitative approach. Data were gained from student answer on questionnaire that they had fulfilled. The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling. Subjects in this study were 40 students from a total of English Education student batch of 2018 at Universitas Brawijaya. This study using questionnaire that had been validated by the expert as the instrument. The questionnaire uses Likert scale where there are two forms of statements, positive and negative statements. The results show that almost all of respondent give positive perception that English Camp can enhance their English proficiency through the three domains of learning: cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Almost all of student show their agreement based on the 10 statements through questionnaire the researcher provide. The conclusion of this study is that almost all students give positive perception. It refers to the three domains of learning by Bloom. From the three domains, it shows a positive perception in each domain. This indicates that students get enhanced in English proficiency by following English Camp.

Abstract

The head of the madrasah as a supervisor in the education unit has a very important role in providing professional and accountable services to teachers, in particular providing motivation and support towards the development of a better learning process. The paradigm of teachers towards the implementation of supervision tends to be less good and many assume that supervision is an activity to supervise teachers in carrying out their learning by suppressing the freedom of teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of academic supervision at MTs Islamic Foundation Rajamandala. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research and the analysis used is descriptive phenomenological. The results showed that the implementation of academic supervision in the planning aspect was still hampered by the presence of several teachers who had not completed the learning tools, in the aspect of the supervision implementation there were still some teachers who had not applied media and learning strategies/models, limited use of IT and authentic assessments that had not been able to fully implemented, while in the aspect of follow-up supervision, several teachers have been rewarded for their good performance by making them supervivors of colleagues and the Teacher Performance Assessment team. Abstract

Learning physics through the development of learning media with the android based physics laboratory is expected to increase the competence of students in the black body radiation material. This research is a development research (Research and Development. The results of the analysis obtained as many as 73% of students think that the development of learning media Android Based Physics Laboratory is very effectively used for learning black body radiation and 26% of students think that learning media Android Based Physics Laboratory is learning which is creative and interactive as well as an additional supplement in the teaching and learning process. The test given to students shows a significant increase in learning outcomes. These indicators can be seen from the average Pre-Test score of 49.67 to 80.64 in the Post-Test. The value of t count < t table, this shows that the Android Based Physics Laboratory learning media can improve student learning outcomes.P Value is smaller than alpha 5% (0.05), meaning that there is a significant difference between learning outcomes before and after the application of your learning media roid Based Physics Laboratory. The distribution of the skill scores of students is in the range between 80 to 90, this shows that learning activities with android based physics laboratory media have a good impact on students.

Abstract

The problem formulation of this research is 1) How is the description of character education construction that was implemented in Pondok Pesantren Khoirul Huda, and 2) How is the implication of character education in Pondok Pesantren Khoirul Huda in a matter of honesty and discipline. Based on these problems, the author tries to research, character education for students in the metropolitan city, especially in the Khoirul Huda Student Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya in constructing educational character for their students, and the implications of character education at the Khoirul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya for students in a matter of honesty and discipline. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a single research strategy. Sources of data used in this study are informants, Place, events, and documentation. The data technique used was observation, interview, and document analysis. The data validity used data triangulation. Meanwhile, the data analysis uses an interactive model that is divided into data, data reduction, data collection, and data collection. The results of this research indicate that the Khoirul Huda Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya emphasizes character teaching followed by character habituation by practicing it. The education activity consists of the classical lecture that focuses on cognitive improvement with habituation of good deeds during the class. The asatidzs and boarding school management are also giving models and guidelines of good deeds in student's daily life. In the process of education, all the educator is helped either from inside or outside boarding school. Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) aims to determine the improvement of learning outcomes and strengthening the character of students in class XI IPS MAN 5 Bojonegoro for the 2021/2022 academic year through the G Suite For Education application on national income materials. This classroom action research uses the Kemmis design model based on cycles, consisting of two cycles where each cycle includes planning (plans), action (action), observation (observations), and reflection (reflection). The steps in the next cycle are planning, action, observation, and reflection. Before entering in cycle 1, preliminary actions were carried out in the form of identifying problems in class XI IPS students with the number of students in class 31 children and the instruments in this study were observation, assignments and tests. The results obtained from the study were based on observational data, assignments and tests. Improvements obtained by implementing the G Suite For Education Application can improve learning outcomes and strengthen student character. This is evident in the achievement of learning outcomes, namely in the 1st cycle of 69. While in the 2nd cycle there was a significant increase of 89. The character of responsibility also increased, before the application of the G Suite For Education Application, many students did not do the task, after the program students are enthusiastic in doing the task. This shows that the application of the G Suite For Education application used has proven to be able to improve learning outcomes and strengthen the character of class XI IPS MAN 5 Bojonegoro students for the 2021/2022 academic year. The field results regarding the effectiveness of the G Suite For Education application are feasible and can be used as one of the learning media in further learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the Reciprocal Teaching model in science learning in elementary schools. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with a literature review. The data sources used in this article are from journals categorized as main sources and supporting sources in the span of 10 years (2012 to 2020). The research findings indicate that the Reciprocal Teaching model can be used as an alternative in the science learning process in elementary schools because it is an effective learning model with an understanding of empathy strategies, namely summarizing readings, asking questions, predicting advanced material, and clarifying difficult to reach terms. The use of the Reciprocal Teaching model in learning in elementary schools can improve student learning activities, science learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, science knowledge competencies, students' reading skills, students' communication skills, students' reading mastery, and student learning mastery.

Abstract

Pesantren Ramadan activities are a series of activities in the form of deepening Islamic values, both in terms of worship and in behavior. One of the institutions that carry out this activity is MAN Bondowoso, where the activity is carried out offline. The purpose of this article is to find out the concept applied by MAN Bondowoso in carrying out the Pesantren Ramadan (PESROM), as well as the values instilled in it. This research is qualitative research, that is, data sources obtained through documents and interviews online. The results of this study showed that the material delivered when PESROM was about the fikih of worship and the realization of Islamic values in the form of discipline, spirit of worship, noble character and religious moderation.

Abstract

Religious moderation is a national program to create a peaceful life. The attitude of religious moderation is developed in madrasas as the main values ​​of life. The movement to realize religious moderation in madrasas needs to be started by teachers with an attitude of religious moderation. This study aims to describe the attitude of religious moderation of madrasa teachers and strategies for developing religious moderation in madrasas. The research begins with a literature review to examine the concept of religious moderation, attitudes of religious moderation and educational strategies for religious moderation. The research respondents were 111 madrasa teachers who participated in the training organized by the Surabaya Religious Education and Training Center. Data collection was carried out by means of a questionnaire. The research instrument is in the form of a standardized religious moderation attitude scale, a questionnaire sent via google form upload to respondents. Data processing was carried out by descriptive statistics. The results showed that the religious moderation attitude of madrasa teachers was in the medium and high categories. Teachers' religious moderation attitudes vary in terms of education level, teacher job background, teaching specialization, employment status and gender. The attitude of religious moderation is important in realizing a peaceful life, therefore it is recommended to increase the attitude of religious moderation in teachers.
