Abstract

Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini mengeksplorasi dampak workshop public speaking terhadap siswa/i SMP Negeri 3 Marga. Workshop ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan public speaking guna menghadapi tantangan masa depan. Melibatkan 27 peserta dari berbagai tingkat kelas, workshop mencakup pengenalan public speaking, diskusi interaktif, praktik langsung, dan penjelasan aspek visual, voice, dan verbal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi peserta dan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan public speaking mereka. Penelitian ini memberikan bekal penting bagi siswa/i dalam situasi komunikasi sehari-hari, memperluas wawasan, dan membuka peluang karir di masa depan. Workshop public speaking ini berkontribusi positif dalam pengembangan keterampilan siswa/i SMP Negeri 3 Marga, dengan dampak jangka panjang yang positif bagi siswa/i, sekolah, dan Desa Wisata Pinge. Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) entitled "CLEAN ENERGY EDUCATION AND SOLAR PANEL APPLICATION AT THE HKBP AEK BOLON CHURCH" in the Aek Bolon Julu Village, Balige District, Toba Regency, demonstrated the commitment of the PKM team to raise awareness and utilize solar energy. Cooperation with the Pomparan Opung Jaenna Siahaan indigenous community provided significant financial and logistical support, including funding for the construction of solar panel lamp foundation poles, location permits, as well as transportation and accommodation for the PKM implementation team. The impact was not only seen in cost savings for the Church and its congregation but also in optimizing the Church hall asset, which could then be used more effectively at night. Before the solar panel lighting, fear and limited access to the Church at night were the main obstacles. Through educational activities such as lectures during worship days, the PKM team succeeded in increasing the Church community's awareness of sustainable solutions. This program not only provided improvements in infrastructure but also created a safe and comfortable environment, reflecting the positive impact directly felt by the community around the HKBP AEK BOLON Church.

Abstract

Elections are short for General Elections, which are a democratic process where citizens vote for their leaders and representatives through a voting process. Often, community participation as voters is still suboptimal and needs to be optimized. In the 2024 elections, it is necessary to conduct online voter list verification socialization in villages because rural residents often lack understanding of technology, where access to information technology in Indonesia still experiences gaps. Therefore, to increase voter participation, one effort that can be made is by creating a program "Optimizing Voter Participation Through Socialization of Online Permanent Voter List (PVT) Verification Guidelines." Abstract

The Community Service Activity carried out by the UKI Faculty of Engineering Architecture Study Program is entitled Green Action 34 Improving the Skills of Karang Taruna Community Members in Kebon Pala Village Through Socialization and Mural Design Workshops. This activity is a continuation of the previous Community Service Activity which aims to increase the skills of members of the Karang Taruna community in Kebon Pala Village by providing material provision through socialization and workshops. The method involves inviting resource persons to provide material to the participants and then holding a workshop by directly practicing how to paint a mural by choosing a location at the Kebon Pala Village Head Office as a pilot project in this activity. This Community Service activity provides paint sponsor Aviand Brands which prepares all the tools and materials for Mural activities in this mural activity. Participants will be given funds to buy paint and brushes so they can carry out workshop activities so that the results are satisfactory. The results show that the mural design can be completed well and obtain satisfactory results

Abstract

The Dayak Tomun tribe lives in traditional houses, which is related to bathing, washing, and latrine (BWL) problems. After the inventory is carried out, several aspects are then studied, both potential aspects and inhibiting aspects, by taking into account environmental factors, including the existence of surrounding natural resources. A potential aspect studied is the readiness and acceptance of the Dayak Tomun tribe in understanding aesthetics and health, related to BWL activities around their homes. The inhibiting aspect is the lack of facilities and knowledge about aesthetics and health. In the arrangement of the new floor plan, it is necessary to complete the feasibility of using the function of BWL rooms, sanitation facilities, clean water sources that are far from the river. The proposal for the development of this traditional house design, of course, considers the broad standards and circulation of space activities inside the house with activities in outdoor spaces resulting in space patterns that are more private, semi-public, and public. The use of non-organic building materials (steel and concrete) in traditional home repairs makes the physical existence of the building better. Meanwhile, with the existence of signs and customary cultural systems that have decreased in meaning, this can be avoided by preservation efforts, if the Housing and Settlement Office, and the Tourism Office make policies or regulations to maintain the design of traditional houses to continue to exist amid the rapid production of modern material products as building materials.

Abstract

The elderly is a normal process for every individual. The elderly are also not a burden on themselves or the internal/external environment. For this reason, regulations in Indonesia provide information that the number of elderly people is increasing nationally in Indonesia. The elderly at HKBP Perumnas II South Bekasi are part of the number of elderly in Indonesia. They have programmed activities, but they also need enlightenment from the scientific field and its implications as Christians. The aim of the seminar and discussion with topics related to the Philosophy of Knowledge, Theology, Mythology and the Color of Life for the Elderly as Christians at HKBP Perumnas II South Bekasi" is a form of Community Service with the aim of providing a new perspective for the elderly. The number of participants who attended was 46 participants (73%) and 17 elderly people did not attend (27%). This data provides information that the number of elderly people who attended was still greater than those who were unable to attend. Findings from the community service results: testimonials from elderly people that similar activities had never been done before, elderly participants were very enthusiastic, and hoped that other activities could be carried out, such as health checks.

Abstract

Bahasa mampu menjangkau semua kalangan, organisasi atau budaya manusia, termasuk tulisan. Seperti kita ketahui bahwa saat ini media sosial sangat banyak diminati oleh semua kalangan. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di desa Tobat, Tangerang. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman akan pentingnya kalimat hoak. Pengamatan tim abdimas yang merupakan warga desa Tobat bahwa masih terdapat ibu-ibu yang dengan mudahnya menyebarkan informasi melalui media sosial tanpa mencari tahu kebenarannya. Selain itu, ibu-ibu menjadi korban berita hoak yang ada. Observasi tim abdimas terhadap media social ibu-ibu juga masih terdapat penyebaran berita hoak. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pelaksanaan PKM ini adalah metode sosialisasi, berbagi pengalaman, diskusi bersama dan PLA. Beberapa hasil kegiatan abdimas ini yaitu pertama, program ini berhasil memberikan pemahaman terhadap ibu-ibu di desa Tobat akan berita hoak, kedua, Sampai saat ini, para ibu masih suka berkomunikasi dengan tim abdimas berkenaan dengan berita hoak, ketiga, para anak dan remaja juga perlu mendapatkan sosialisasi terhadap berita hoak. Abstract

The fierce competition between political parties and legislative candidates tends to use various methods to win the 2024 elections, including using fake news or hoaxes. Generation Z, who have no experience in conducting general elections, are trapped in a spiral of information on various social media platforms, making it difficult to make their choices and leading to irrational voters and "abstentions". The webinar for digital natives who are fluent in communicating via digital media was carried out 5 days before the 2024 election. The aim was for novice voters as webinar participants to play an active role by becoming anti-hoax agents and being able to convey the procedures for implementing the 2024 election. The webinar method includes public education through presentation of resource material, training in the form of intensive questions and answers, also mediation in the form of quizzes with prizes and filling out questionnaires. Post-test results on 52 participants who filled out the Google form showed that they had made their choice during the webinar and often read news about the 2024 Election. All respondents admitted that they accessed information from digital and electronic media and none used print media. Interestingly, 54% of respondents have the intention in getting involved in politics. Through an open questionnaire, it was discovered that Gen-z respondents had positive hopes for the election winners and future Indonesian leaders.

Abstract

This PKM aims to overcome the problems faced by MSMEs in the UKI environment (canteen) when students are on holiday by focusing on education on managing MSME business finances. When students are on holiday, cafeterias face reduced revenues, inventory surpluses, financial risks, and growth constraints. Therefore, through PKM, we try to overcome this problem through an educational approach. The education carried out is education regarding financial management, simple bookkeeping, digital payment solutions, and online platform activation. From the results of discussions held during the activity, it was found that the majority of participants had not activated online sales using certain platforms, had not separated personal and business finances, had not kept bookkeeping for their business activities, and were still hesitant to use Qris as an alternative payment from buyers. After counseling, participants stated that they wanted to do good bookkeeping, wanted to make sales online, and wanted to use Qris. Continuous assistance is needed so that participants can increase their canteen income through online sales so that when students are on holiday there is no decrease in income, and assistance is needed so that participants can keep their business bookkeeping well so they can know whether their business is profitable and efficient. As well as the need for monitoring the use of Qris from the bank where participants open Qris so that any problems related to Qris can be resolved immediately. Abstract

Sebagai implementasi kerjasama UKI dengan HKBP Duren Jaya bekasi dan berkaitan dengan hari Kartini 21 April 2024, jemaat perempuan HKBP Duren Jaya membuat program seminar dan juga sejalan dengan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) UKI. Metode PkM dengan seminar yang dihadiri pendeta, majelis gereja dan jemaat berempuan berjumlah 86 orang. Jemaat perempuan bervariasi ditinjau dari aspek umur, sosial dan ekonomi. Jemaat perempuan terdiri dari perempuan yang masih aktif bekerja, ibu rumah tangga, perempuan yang sudah pensiun yang sehari-hari menjaga cucu, aktif kegiatan di gereja, paduan suara, pesta adat, dan lain-lain. Oleh karena itu jemaat perempuan memiliki harapan tetap sehat, bugar, cantik agar bisa aktif dalam kegiatannya sehari-hari. Peserta sangat antusias menyimak dan bertanya tentang kesehatan, gizi dan kebugaran sesuai dengan kondisi dan permasalahan yang dialami. Adapun hasil setelah seminar jemaat memiliki pemahaman pada intinya kesehatan dipengaruhi empat faktor yakni lingkungan, perilaku, layanan kesehatan dan gen. Hidup sehat harus memperhatikan gizi yang seimbang dengan kondisi masing-masing bonusnya cantik. Agar kulit tetap cantik maka yang perlu adalah membersihkan kulit, memberi pelembab dan memakai skin cara yang aman. Kata kunci: sehat, bugar, kosmetik, perempuan.
