Abstract

Urban Nutrigarden is an activity of growing vegetables and herbs organically in an urban environment. The Urban Nutrigarden concept utilizes the space available at home, from the yard, vertical, roof of the house, to rocky soil. The Urban Nutrigarden concept in this community is environmentally friendly and sustainable. The purpose of cultivation is to obtain a balanced nutritional variation, form a sustainable ecosystem in the house and can improve economic improvement Encourage Microgreens cultivation partners to continue implementing the application of IoT technology to the Nutrigarden concept in their independent cultivation activities.

Abstract

Abstract This community service article describes the implementation and results of a program to strengthen religious moderation using a local wisdom approach in the Batak community in Lumban Siagian Jae Village, Siatas Barita District, North Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province on July 29 2023. The main purpose of community service this is to help develop a deeper understanding of manirat local wisdom values ​​as a basis for religious moderation. This program involves collaboration between the service team and the local community in designing and implementing a series of activities. This activity includes seminars and mandates that focus on developing the community's economy through local culture and inclusive understanding of religion and interfaith tolerance. The results of this article show that through the manirat local wisdom approach, the Batak people in Lumban Siagian Jae Village can better understand and apply moderation in their religious and cultural practices. Local wisdom values ​​such as mutual respect, cooperation, and openness to religious differences have proven effective in strengthening religious moderation at the community level. This article also notes the positive response from the community towards the community service program, indicating continued potential for further development. This article provides insights for community service practitioners, religious educators, and other communities about the importance of utilizing local wisdom in promoting religious moderation and interfaith harmony. Abstract

Education becomes a very important aspect for every individual to obtain broader knowledge. One way to achieve a better education is to continue your studies to college. The environment in which individuals interact with others has a great influence on student behavior. Especially for overseas students, the challenges faced are more due to the distance that separates parents and families. Therefore, the establishment of a cell group community for overseas students in Bandung has great potential to form an inclusive environment that will continue to grow over time. In an inclusive environment, students can learn to appreciate cultural diversity and broaden their understanding of the world. Moreover, cell groups can also be a source of support in their studies, careers, and personal lives, helping students feel more connected and secure in a new environment. Therefore, the establishment of cell groups is an important first step in building an inclusive and sustainable community in Bandung. To understand more, our team tries to prepare the needs of overseas students.

Abstract

Education helps an individual in developing their personality and social skills. The higher the level of education an individual attains, the better their potential level of well-being. The central role of schools has inspired the team to further examine the conditions of private schools in Bogor Regency, particularly in Bojonggede District. This is because private schools face significant challenges in achieving their New Student Admission (PPDB) targets compared to public schools. Public interest in enrolling their children in private schools is generally low. To address this issue, there is a need to enhance marketing management capabilities integrated with information technology. This article discusses the implementation of an integrated marketing workshop aimed at improving promotional management skills in private schools, with a case study at SMA Muhammadiyah Bojonggede. The workshop was conducted through material presentations, discussions and Q&A sessions, and hands-on practice in the form of simulations. The activity was attended by teachers. The success of the activity was measured by both outcome and process criteria. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in integrated marketing strategies.

Abstract

Mengasah keterampilan menulis penting dilakukan sejak dini karena beberapa manfaat, yaitu memperkaya pembendaharaan kata, mengasah ide dan gagasan kreatif yang dimiliki, serta mendapatkan penghasilan dari kegiatan menulis yang dilakukan. Minat menulis perlu ditumbuhkan terutama di kalangan remaja saat ini, karena menulis merupakan salah satu aspek penting ketika melakukan komunikasi dengan bahasa tulis dan merupakan keterampilan berbahasa yang wajib dimiliki oleh seseorang. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan minat menulis terutama cerpen pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Kristen Haleluyah Jakarta Pusat. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini berupa pendidikan sekaligus penyuluhan serta pendampingan. Adapun hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah tumbuhnya minat menulis cerpen siswa kelas VIII SMP Kristen Haleluyah Jakarta Pusat sebanyak 53,3%. Sebelum dllakukan kegiatan abdimas minat menulis cerpen siswa kelas VIII hanya 40% dan setelah melakukan kegiatan minat menulis cerpen meningkat menjadi 93,3%. Kata Kunci: Minat; Menulis; Cerpen.

Abstract

Abstract In performs its services, the church needs to implement communication ethics so that good and understandable communication occurs. The church needs to organize with all the risks it faces. This shows the need for good management, including financial management in the church. Apart from that, family resilience and health are also needed in building relationships between family members in order to create harmonious relationships in building a Christian congregation. This community service activity aims to provide an understanding of communication ethics, family resilience and health, as well as financial management in the church. Using lecture and discussion methods. This activity received a very good response from all participants as seen from their enthusiasm in participating in this training. They also hope that UKI can provide further training and other activities.

Abstract

Choking is a very dangerous emergency that often occurs in children under three years of age. Choking occurs when solid food that should pass through the digestive tract blocks the airway. Choking victims can lose consciousness, causing death. Treatment for choking in children is divided into three types, namely back blow, Heimlick maneuver and chest thrust. The aim of this Community Service is to identify the mother's level of knowledge and skills in handling choking emergencies in children. The method used is the lecture and demonstration method. There were 32 participants who attended and took part in the activity. The activity was carried out at RT.01/RW.05 Ledug Village, Purwokerto on Thursday, June 6 2024. The media used were powerpoint, leaflets and videos. Community Service Results showed that 19 participants (59.4%) had sufficient knowledge before the education was provided and after the education was provided, 29 participants (90.6%) were in the good category. The skill level before being given education and demonstration was that all participants were unskilled, 32 participants (100.0%), whereas after being given education and demonstration, 21 participants (65.6%) had skilled skills and 11 participants (34.4%) had less skilled skills. From the results of community service it can be concluded that there is an increase in knowledge and skills.

Abstract

The outreach on matching Individual Taxpayer Numbers (NPWP) with Population Identification Numbers (NIK) is a crucial effort to enhance tax administration efficiency and tax compliance in Indonesia. NPWP and NIK are two significant identifiers for Indonesian citizens, but discrepancies or data duplication between them are common. Faculty from the Tax Management program, assisted by student volunteers from the tax volunteer group, conducted this matching activity through outreach to the community at the Christian University of Indonesia (UKI). They utilised questionnaires to gather feedback from participants on the topic discussed.The conclusion drawn is that the twenty-five participants who attended the outreach (PkM) are now aware of the necessity to match their NIK with NPWP. The final deadline for this matching is June 30, 2024, with full implementation to be enforced nationwide starting July 1, 2024. Participants expressed their satisfaction with the outreach conducted by the Tax Management faculty from the Vocational Faculty of UKI, with support from the tax volunteers.

Abstract

Abstract Water is an essential and vital resource for all living organisms; without it, life on Earth would be unsustainable. Although the Earth has abundant water, the available supply of clean water is insufficient to meet demand, causing many people to suffer from water scarcity. Water shortages can be triggered by rising demand due to population growth, uneven water distribution, increasing water pollution, and inefficient water use. The misuse of water, especially in large cities, is alarming, as water exploitation can reduce water sources and disrupt water sustainability. Groundwater has various benefits, particularly as a primary source of clean water for communities, compared to surface water sources. Additionally, groundwater supports environmental stability by preventing land subsidence, sea water intrusion, and worsening groundwater pollution. To anticipate water shortages, alongside wise and controlled water usage, rainwater harvesting can be employed as an alternative water source. One method of water conservation in every household is rainwater harvesting, which involves collecting, storing, and conserving rainwater. Rainwater harvesting has been practiced for centuries in various countries experiencing water shortages. Harvested rainwater can be used for multiple purposes, such as watering plants, washing, bathing, and even cooking if the water quality meets health standards. The creation of biopores is another alternative in groundwater conservation, as this method returns surface water back into the ground. Given the above points, a team of lecturers and students from the Civil Engineering Study Program is attempting to provide training to the Kramatjati community on how to independently conserve water in each household. Abstract

An important factor in speeding up a child's recovery is the mother's knowledge about her child's illness. A mother must play an important role when her child suffers from a febrile seizure to prevent the child from experiencing more serious health issues. The knowledge that a mother possesses can support the management of the fever condition that occurs. Objective. This Community Service activity aims to help improve knowledge and skills in the first handling of febrile seizures at Posyandu Garuda II Kembaran Purwokerto. Methods. Community service activities are carried out by conducting lectures, implementation and direct evaluation by applying increased knowledge and skills in the first handling of febrile seizures. Results. Based on the results of PkM activities, before being given education there were 8 participants (16.3%) in the good knowledge category, 23 participants (46.9%) in the sufficient knowledge category and 18 participants (36.7%) in the poor knowledge category. Then after being given education using audiovisual and leaflets, there was an increase in knowledge, namely 44 participants (89.8%) in the good knowledge category and 5 participants (10.2%) in the moderate knowledge category. As for the skill level before being given a demonstration, all participants were not skilled. Then after being given demonstrations, audiovisuals and leaflets increased to skillful, namely 37 participants (75.5%) and 12 participants (24.5%) were less skilled. The conclusion is that after being given education there is an increase in knowledge and skills. Keywords: Knowledge; Skills; Fever Seizures;
