Ubi jalar mengandung karoten sebagai bahan utama pembentukan vitamin A setara dengan karoten yang terdapat pada wortel yang berfungsi sebagai senyawa antioksidan yang mampu menghalangi laju perusakan sel oleh radikal bebas dan juga mampu mencegah kanker. Di Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat ubi jalar telah lama dikonsumsi oleh sebagian besar masyarakat terutama yang ada di pedesaan. Akan tetapi karena kurangnya diversifikasi ubi jalar dan relatif rendahnya harga jual menjadikan tanaman ini lama kelamaan kurang populer untuk dibudidayakan bagi para petani sehingga produksinya terus mengalami penurunan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kadar karoten dalam ubi jalar. Uji karotenoid dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Analitik Universitas Mataram. Lima jenis ubi jalar yang memiliki warna kulit dan warna umbi berbeda dipilih sebagai sampel dengan ulangan sebanyak 2 kali. Ubi jalar lokal yang diteliti memiliki rentang kandungan karotenoid antara 0,007-0,254 µg/100 gr yang dibagi menjadi 2 kategori yaitu Kategori 1 yang merupakan ubi jalar lokal dengan kandungan karotenoid rendah, dan Kategori 2 yang beranggotakan ubi jalar lokal dengan kandungan karotenoid yang tinggi. Dilihat dari kandungan karotenoidnya maka ubi jalar lokal dengan daging ubi berwarna kuning- oranye memilki kandungan karoten paling tinggi sehingga mempunyai potensi dalam meningkatkan asupan vitamin A.

In this study a study of the effect of TiO2 photocatalysts and Hg (II) ions in thewastewater of the silver industry in Ungga Village, Kec. PrayaKab. CentralLombok to the effectiveness of Cu (II) photoreduction which is catalyzed byTiO2. The photoreduction process is carried out by irradiating liquid wastecontaining Cu (II) and Hg (II) ions without or by adding TiO2 photocatalystpowder in a closed reactor equipped with UV light. The condition of thephotoreduction process is 50 mL of silver waste containing Cu (II) and Hg (II)with a reaction time of 24 hours and a mass of TiO2 20 mg at 10 ppm Cu (II) ionconcentration. Photoreduction results are determined based on the difference inthe concentration of Cu (II) ions with the concentration of residual Cu (II) ionsin silver waste without the addition of TiO2 photocatalysts. Furthermore, thedata obtained compared to the results of Cu (II) photoreduction catalyzed bypure TiO2 laboratory scale. The amount of metal in the mixture was determinedby the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method. The results showedthat in silver handicrafts containing Cu (II) and Hg (II) ions the addition of TiO2can increase the effectiveness of Cu (II) photoreduction from 6.57% to 33.38%,which begins with the adsorption process. Hg (II) in silver handicraft wastecauses inter-metal reduction competition so that it can reduce the effectiveness ofCu (II) ion photoreduction catalyzed by TiO2 by 9.84% when compared to thepercentage of Cu (II) ion Ti2O scale scale laboratory testing.

The results of observations and interviews on lecturers and students show that students tend to pay less attention when the lecturer explains the material. The interaction is also still impressed one way, only lecturers to students. It shows that students' interest toward organic chemistry learning is still low and considered difficult by them. Students are less directed in constructing their knowledge, resulting in many misconceptions and low student's thinking ability. This happens because the union has not multi-level chemical representation that includes the macroscopic, microscopic and symbolic levels in the learning process undertaken. This research was conducted on chemical education students at IKIP Mataram who took organic chemistry course II. This research was conducted from September to December 2016 consisting of preliminary research, product trial, data processing and preparation of research result report. This study aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of teaching materials with inquiry assisted approach Computational Chemistry program in improving students' creative thinking ability. This research uses R & D procedure which includes define, design and develop stage. The result of the research shows that the teaching materials developed meet the valid criteria, and effectiveness in improving the ability of creative thinking this can be seen from the result of the n-gain test which shows the improvement of students' creative thinking ability after learning using inquiry materials of computational media in organic chemistry.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran TGT dengan media Domino terhadap minat dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi struktur atom. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian “Posttest-Only Control Design”. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling dan didapatkan kelas X IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) minat belajar kelas eksperimen sebesar 77% sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 76%. 2) Hasil belajar siswa pada ranah kognitif kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 75 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 67% sedangkan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol sebesar 71 dengan ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 50%. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis didapatkan nilai signifikan sebesar 0,093 > 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol pada materi struktur atom.

This research uses factorial design 2 x 2. The sample in this research is thestudents of IKIP Kimia Mataram Chemistry study program that follow theBasic Chemistry 2 course in the even semester of academic year 2013/2014with 2 homogenously distributed classes. The sample was taken by clusterrandom sampling technique. One class consists of 21 students who weretaught inquiry led by using computer simulation and other class consists of 22students with guided Inquiry. The research data are low learning result andhigh level learning result on chemical equilibrium material measured by usingtest instrument choice and essay test with content validation each 80,6% and91,7%. The measurement of the reliability of questions was obtained fromCronbach's Alpha formula with a value of 0.73 for multiple choice tests and0.914 for the essay test. Data analysis using ANOVA Two Ways test. Theresult of the research shows that: (1) Low learning result of under guidedclass students in using computer simulation is higher than guided inquiryclass without computer simulation; (2) Higher student learning result inguided inquiry class using computer simulation higher than guided inquiryclass without computer simulation. So it can be concluded that guided inquirylearning using computer learning can student improve learning outcomes inchemical equilibrium material.

Chemistry learning has so far emphasized macroscopic and symbolic aspects as a result of misconceptions and students' low understanding of chemistry. This study aims to determine the influence of science process skill through guided inquiry model on student learning outcomes on acidic-basicsolution topic. The type of research is experimental research with Posttest-Only Control Design. Sampling was done by using Purposive Sampling technique. The sample of research for the experimental class and control class were 31 students, respectively. Data collection using objective test as an instrument that contains test about acidic acid material. Data analysis technique used to test the research hypothesis is t-test. Based on the statistical results obtained the average value of post-test experimental class is 58.55 while for the control class the average post-test value is 39.68. Result of data analysis for learning result show that in significant level 0,05 obtained tcount> t table (6,22> 1,671), then H0 rejected or accepted H1. Thus it can be concluded that there is the influence of process skills of science through guided inquiry model on student learning outcomes on acidic acid solution materials.The positive effects are also discussed in this study.

Roentgen photo waste containing silver metal ion (Ag+) in form of silver thiosulfic complex ([Ag(S2O3)2]3-) that danger for health and environment. To prevent contamination to environment by silver metal from roentgen photo waste, separation become need to do. Solvent extraction was one of available separation technique on this case. The aim of this research was to evaluate the influence of few extraction parameters that was water-organic phase ratio and Ag concentration on water phase to silver extraction percentage, and apply optimum condition to roentgen photo waste sample. Silver extraction was applied on various water-organic phase ratios, there were 5 : 10; 10 : 10; 25 : 10; 50 : 10; and 75 : 10 mL and various silver concentration on water phase, there were 10, 20, 30, and 40 ppm. Ag+ ion concentration was measured by AAS in 328.22 nm wavelength before and after extraction process, than calculation of silver extraction percentage could be conducted. Based on research result, optimum condition of silver extraction was obtained on 1 : 2 of water-organic phase ratio and 10 ppm of Ag concentration on water phase. 10,27 % silver extraction was obtained on application of optimum extraction condition on roentgen photo waste.

Pelaksanaan kurikulum 2013 di tingkat SMP adalah lebih menekankan pengintegrasikan mata pelajaran biologi, kimia, dan fisika menjadi mata pelajaran IPA terpadu. Pengintegrasian mata pelajaran IPA berdasarkan kurikulum 2013 yang menitikberatkan pada penyederhanaan mata pelajaran dan tematik-integratif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangakan Worksheet tematik-integratif Mata Pelajaran IPA Terpadu untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah Worksheet tematik Integratif. Selanjutnya Worksheet tematik Integratif yang dikembangkan di uji dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas. Proses pengembangan Worksheet tematik Integratif dikembangkan dengan model 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, and Dessiminate). Data pemahaan konsep diperoleh dari tes Essay yang diberikan kepada siswa. Objek pada penelitian ini yaitu MTs Negeri 1 Mataram dengan subjek siswa kelas VII Bio A dan kelas VII Bio B jumlah keseluruhan 30 orang siswa. Hasil validasi dari ahli Worksheet dan instrumen penelitian dinyatakan valid dan layak digunakan dalam uji coba. Hasil penelitian pemahaman konsep untuk siswa kelas VII bio A pretest mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 55 dengan katagori tidak tuntas sedangkan nilai rata-rata postest 87.2 dengan katagori tuntas, sedangkan untuk siswa kelas VII bio B pretest mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 44.3 dengan katagori tidak tuntas sedangkan nilai rata-rata postest 89.3 dengan katagori tuntas hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Worksheet tematik Integratif epektif dan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa.

Hasil belajar kimia yang sangat rendah disebabkan karena karakteristik materi pembelajaran kimia terutama materi minyak bumi yang bersifat abstrak sehingga siswa beranggapan materi pembelajaran sulit untuk dipahami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Case Based Learning terhadap keterampilaan generik sains dan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas X pada materi minyak bumi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen, jenis quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian ”Posttest-Only control design”. Sampel terdiri dari 2 kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen dengan model Case Based Learning dan kelas kontrol dengan metode konvensional. Data keterampilan generik sains diperoleh menggunakan lembar observasi keterampilan generik sains, sedangkan data pemahaman konsep siswa menggunakan tes pilihan ganda beralasan. Teknik analisis data yaitu analisis deskriptif untuk keterampilan generik sains dan analisis statistik untuk pemahaman konsep siswa. Hasil analisis deskriptif lembar observasi keterampilan generik sains siswa diperoleh nilai rata-rata pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 85,171 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 57,51. Nilai rata-rata pemahaman konsep siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 76,40 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 57,09. Hasil analisis uji Mann-Whitney dengan SPSS 16.0 for Windows diperoleh nilai sig. lebih kecil dari 0,05 (0,000<0,05). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Case Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan generik sains dan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas X pada materi minyak bumi.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the application of inquiry modules with cognitive conflict strategies in chemical bonding material in improving students' critical thinking skills. This research is a quantitative descriptive study that was carried out with the design of one group pretest posttest. The sample used was 26 students who took general chemistry courses with a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by normalized N-gain method and paired samples t-test. The result of this study showed that average N-gain of student critical thinking skill after application of inquiry modules with cognitive conflict strategies is 0.6 with medium category. Average score of student critical thinking skill after treatment (74,12) is significantly higher than before (35,77) that proved by t statistic (41,09) higher than t critic (1,71) with df = 25 and p = 0,000 on one tail t-test. Therefore, it was concluded that the application of inquiry modules with cognitive conflict strategies enhance student critical thinking skill on chemical bonding material learning effectively.
