Abstract

Early marriage in Indonesia, especially in Kabanjahe, is a complex social issue that still occurs with high frequency. This study aims to identify the factors that cause early marriage among junior high school students and evaluate the prevention efforts made by the school. The method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving in-depth interviews with perpetrators of early marriage, teachers, and other related parties. The results showed that economic factors, low education, and cultural and social pressures are the main drivers of early marriage. In addition, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated this situation with an increase in the number of marriage dispensations. This study recommends the need for collaboration between schools, families and communities in prevention efforts, as well as the importance of comprehensive education on the risks of early marriage. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a reference in developing more effective policies to protect children from early marriage practices.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the use of politeness strategies in requesting and refusing within students' conversations at SMP Al-Washliyah 24 Medan, particularly among Generation Z learners in the millennial era. This research adopts a qualitative approach, using interviews and observation as instruments for data collection. The data were analyzed qualitatively to assess how students apply politeness in everyday communication. The findings reveal that students' approaches to learning, discussion styles, and use of learning resources are significantly influenced by their surrounding environment and upbringing. Although students are actively involved in various school-based activities and organizations, a decline in manners and moral values was observed, which is attributed to generational shifts and reduced emphasis on character education. Furthermore, the influence of technological advancement and liberal educational practices appears to shape students’ critical thinking, particularly in adapting to frequent changes in curriculum and learning models.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes in people's lives, including in rural areas. However, varying levels of digital literacy are an important factor in determining how people can optimally utilize the internet. This study examines the level of digital literacy of the community in Tanah Tinggi Village, Batubara District, and how they utilize the internet in their daily activities. The method used is descriptive qualitative with interviews as the data collection technique, using purposive sampling to select appropriate and relevant informants. The research findings show that most Tanah Tinggi villagers have utilized the internet for various needs, such as communication, entertainment, education, and economic activities. However, the community's level of digital literacy is still moderate. They are quite active in accessing and using information from the internet, but their ability to critically evaluate and verify information is still limited. This can be seen from the difficulty in recognizing and counteracting fake news or hoaxes that are widely circulated on social media. This study emphasizes the importance of improving digital literacy so that people are not only active users of the internet, but also able to use information wisely and critically for optimal benefits in their daily lives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of economic growth on equity and social welfare across the five provinces of Kalimantan. The research focuses on examining the relationship between economic growth and three socio-economic indicators: income disparity, poverty level, and unemployment rate. A quantitative approach is employed using annual panel data from 2018 to 2024, analyzed through the Fixed Effect regression model. The results reveal that economic growth has a negative and significant effect on income disparity and unemployment, but no significant effect on poverty levels. These findings indicate that while economic growth contributes to reducing inequality and expanding employment opportunities, it has yet to substantially benefit impoverished populations. Therefore, more inclusive and equitable development strategies are needed to ensure that the benefits of economic growth are broadly distributed among all segments of society.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the communication strategy applied by the Aek Libung Village government in an effort to develop the natural attractions of Aek Sijorni, Sayurmatinggi District, South Tapanuli Regency. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a field study approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the village government's communication strategy was carried out through two approaches, namely formal and informal communication. Formal communication is realized in the form of coordination meetings, preparation of information modules, study tours, event cooperation, and distribution of promotional cards and brochures. Meanwhile, informal communication is carried out through social media-based digital promotions and mutual cooperation activities involving the community. Supporting factors for this strategy are Aek Sijorni's attractive natural potential and the use of information technology. The inhibiting factors include low community participation, inadequate road access, and dependence on natural conditions. The findings of this study show that the integration of formal and informal communication can increase the effectiveness of promotion and community participation. This research also contributes to the development of organizational communication theory in the context of village tourism.

Abstract

This study examines the creative content ideas on Instagram @cretivox in maintaining its existence as a creative media amid the increasingly competitive digital industry. The problem addressed in this research is how the creative ideas implemented in the content of Instagram @cretivox contribute to sustaining Cretivox's existence as a creative media. The purpose of this research is to analyze the creative elements used in Cretivox’s content and to understand the role of content in building engagement with the audience. This study uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative content analysis method. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that Cretivox consistently applies creative content ideas that reflect the four functions of media according to Denis McQuail: information, correlation, continuity, and entertainment. This implementation is evident through the use of hashtags as brand identity, engaging visuals, a distinctive tone of voice, and relevant content themes that contribute to building strong brand positioning and maintaining its existence as a creative media platform.

Abstract

Visual merchandising has long been considered an essential marketing tool in the retail world. In this study, the researcher wanted to find out how much influence visual structuring had on customers' impulse buying behavior. This study takes Najah Fashion as a case study and involves customers as a sample. The methods used are descriptive to help understand this concept more deeply, as well as to provide information that can help the company make decisions. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed to determine the effect of visual merchandising on impulse buying. The research sample consisted of 100 purposively selected respondents in Bojonegoro. The study found that impulse buying significantly contributed to sales across various product types, with 46% of respondents stating that they had made unplanned purchases after being exposed to certain visual elements. Among the four visual merchandising factors examined, promotional signage at the store entrance proved to have the greatest influence on impulse buying behavior, with a regression coefficient of β = 0.956 and a significance level of p < 0.05. This indicates that promotions strategically displayed at the entrance area have a strong appeal in encouraging consumers to make spontaneous purchases.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing communication strategies implemented by Kopi TM 100 in increasing sales in Batu Bara Regency. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants consist of one café supervisor and 14 active consumers, selected purposively. The results of the study indicate that Kopi TM 100's marketing communication strategies are still conventional, relying on word-of-mouth promotion, banners, seasonal events, and direct service. Despite its simplicity, this strategy is effective due to the café’s comfortable atmosphere, affordable prices, and positive customer experiences. However, limitations in digital promotion are the main obstacle, such as minimal social media activity, the absence of a customer loyalty program, and the lack of a dedicated marketing team. Findings also indicate that sales spikes only occur during specific periods, such as Ramadan and weekends when events are held. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen integrated digital strategies to ensure that marketing communication is not only effective locally but also sustainable and reaches a wider consumer base. This study recommends a community-based approach supported by digital marketing as the ideal strategy for local SMEs.

Abstract

The Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) of Pungpungan Village, Bojonegoro Regency, represents a form of village business entity that plays a crucial role in stimulating the local economy and enhancing community welfare. In its operational activities, BUMDes encounters various challenges in delivering high-quality services to optimally support the community empowerment process. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to examine the extent to which BUMDes service quality influences the level of community empowerment. This study employed a quantitative method with a survey approach and multiple linear regression analysis technique. The findings indicate that the performance indicators of BUMDes service quality simultaneously have a significant effect on community empowerment. Service quality variables, including tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, collectively account for 54.4% of the variation in community empowerment, while the remaining 45.6% is attributed to other factors. It is imperative for BUMDes Pungpungan Village to enhance its service quality through capacity building, performance evaluations, and a more responsive approach to community needs.

Abstract

Amidst the whirlwind of social change and the rapid pace of globalization, Islamic boarding schools in the archipelago preserve an intellectual heritage that has stood the test of time. One such legacy is found in the Tafsir Jalālain manuscript by Kyai Bakri Kajoran. The ta‘līq commentary on Surat Luqmān is more than a marginal note; it is a profound reflection on ethics and humanity, grounded in the realities of Javanese society. Each line of commentary fosters a dialogue between the sacred text and lived experience, linking the values of tawhid, gratitude, and filial piety with the moral challenges of the colonial era. Through a qualitative content analysis of seventy-three commentaries, this study explores how Kyai Bakri blends universal Islamic teachings with local wisdom. This makes the manuscript a space for the dialectic between tradition and the needs of the times, not merely an exegesis. Based on Abdurrahman Wahid’s theory of the indigenization of Islam, the study concludes that these ta‘līqs bridge the gap between the Qur'an's message and the social context of Javanese society, thereby strengthening the ethical and humanistic dimensions of pesantren education. This finding underscores the importance of preserving manuscripts by Nusantara scholars as a source of inspiration for developing inclusive, contextual, and transformative Islamic thought.
