Abstract

This study analyzes the application of the istishna’ contract in the Cash on Delivery (COD) system for online transactions from an Islamic law perspective. Using a conceptual and normative approach, this research explores the compliance of COD transactions with the pillars and conditions of the istishna’ contract, as well as the challenges in its implementation. The findings indicate that although the COD system can fulfill the elements of the istishna’ contract, several potential issues arise, such as unilateral order cancellations by buyers, unclear product specifications, and payment uncertainties, which may lead to injustice for sellers and delivery service providers. Therefore, clearer regulations in Islamic e-commerce are necessary, including an escrow mechanism based on the wadi’ah contract to ensure transaction security. This study highlights the importance of a more adaptive istishna’ contract model in digital e-commerce, ensuring balanced protection for all parties in accordance with the principles of justice in Islamic economics.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the development of education systems in various civilizations from a historical perspective, focusing on how education developed and was influenced by social, cultural, political, and economic conditions in each period so that policy makers and society in general can design a better future for education. This research uses the historical method with a focus on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting historical sources relevant to the development of education systems in various civilizations. Researchers will explore archives, manuscripts, documents and other historical evidence to trace how education systems developed in the context of a particular time and place. The results show that although there are variations in educational approaches between civilizations, there are similarities in the role of education as a tool to maintain and expand power, as well as to adapt to social and technological change. The education system also reflects the social hierarchy that existed at the time, where access to education was often limited to certain elites or classes. It is hoped that this research will bring an understanding of the history of education essential for developing a more inclusive and adaptive education system in the present, taking into account the historical legacies that shape current educational patterns.

Abstract

This study examines population dynamics and employment in Indonesia, along with the challenges in formulating sustainable policies. Using a qualitative method with a literature review approach, this research analyzes various documents from BPS, Bappenas, previous studies, and other sources that explore population and employment issues. The findings indicate that Indonesia needs to strengthen investment in vocational education, develop sustainable urbanization policies, and encourage the transition of the informal sector to the formal economy. Additionally, creating elderly-friendly cities and expanding social security are essential to improving societal well-being. The success of these policies largely depends on the synergy between the government, the private sector, and civil society in fostering inclusive development programs. This study contributes to policy recommendations for addressing population and employment challenges in Indonesia. However, its limitation lies in the general scope of data, suggesting that future research should conduct empirical studies based on regional data to assess policy effectiveness more specifically.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has made artificial intelligence (AI) a crucial issue in education and learning. Higher education institutions face challenges in adopting AI into the learning process to enhance the quality of technology-based education. This study aims to analyze policies and regulations, implementation, and evaluation of AI utilization in higher education learning. The method used is a literature study with data collection techniques based on primary and secondary sources relevant to artificial intelligence. Data analysis was conducted using a descriptive analysis method. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of generative AI in learning presents both opportunities and challenges. On one hand, generative AI technology can assist the academic community in accessing information and improving learning efficiency. However, improper use may negatively impact academic integrity. Therefore, appropriate policies and regulations are necessary for higher education institutions to address challenges and optimize AI integration in the learning process.

Abstract

Global challenges in dealing with hunger, poverty, social inequality, environmental pollution, climate change, and several other important issues encourage the creation of the concept of sustainable development goals. This quantitative method research was conducted to determine the impact of green accounting implementation and environmental performance on sustainable development goals. The criteria selection process resulted in 33 samples from manufacturing companies in the consumer goods sector that published complete annual reports and sustainability reports in 2021-2023. The company also received a PROPER certificate for three consecutive years as a form of commitment to preserving the environment. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis and a series of tests, namely the classical assumption test, the coefficient of determination test, and the hypothesis test. The t-test results reveal that green accounting is unable to influence sustainable development goals. Some companies are still not transparent in conveying information about environmental costs in annual reports and sustainability reports. Furthermore, the t-test results state that environmental performance is able to influence sustainable development goals. This is evidenced by the acquisition of a consistent company environmental performance rating every year.

Abstract

Hukum adat adalah seperangkat aturan atau norma yang berkembang dan hidup dalam suatu masyarakat, yang bersifat tidak tertulis. Aturan-aturan ini berasal dari adat, kebiasaan, dan kesusilaan, dan kelaziman yang diterima dan dijalankan oleh masyarakat tertentu. Di era modern ini, pengaruh globalisasi dan modernisasi mulai merambah ke masyarakat adat, termasuk masyarakat Dayak. Meskipun demikian, hukum adat Dayak masih tetap relevan dan memiliki peran yang signifikan dalam mengatur kehidupan masyarakat, terutama di daerah-daerah pedesaan yang masih menjunjung tinggi tradisi. . Penelitian ini akan memberikan wawasan yang lebih jelas tentang bagaimana hukum adat berfungsi dalam konteks sosial dan budaya setempat. Pentingnya kajian ini terletak pada upaya untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat, terutama komunitas adat, tentang mekanisme penyelesaian masalah yang berkaitan dengan perkawinan hamil. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian Normatif Empiris. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, Pengumpulan Data dilakukan dengan dokumentasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menujukan bahwa, penerapan hukum adat di Desa Emparu Baru bukan hanya sekadar alat untuk mengatur kehidupan sosial, tetapi juga merupakan bagian dari upaya melestarikan dan menjaga identitas budaya Dayak yang sudah ada sejak lama. Hal ini menciptakan hubungan yang erat antara masyarakat, alam, dan warisan budaya, serta menjaga keselarasan hidup dalam komunitas yang sangat menghargai tradisi dan nilai-nilai adat mereka

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the role of the Sharia Supervisory Board in complying with sharia principles applied in sharia banking is based on good corporate governance. The method used in this research is using field research. Qualitative descriptive approach. The source of data in this study is secondary data. Data collection techniques are documentation through journals, books, libraries and the Qur'an and Hadith. The findings obtained in this study are that as an intermediary institution based on sharia principles, Islamic banks must comply with two types of compliance, namely sharia principles and legal compliance. The application of such compliance is not only required for good corporate governance and various Islamic bank products, but also for financial deeds made by a notary. Therefore, financial actions in Islamic banks must reflect the principles of sharia compliance, not only legal compliance. Specific concerns regarding sharia compliance have come within the scope of the Sharia Supervisory Board's authority. The Sharia Supervisory Board has implemented good sharia compliance in sharia banking. Islamic banking has implemented Good Corporate Governance (GCG) this triggers that every transaction and financial arrangement in Islamic banking is in accordance with sharia principles.

Abstract

Wars in various parts of the world, such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, tensions in the Middle East, and trade wars between major countries, have had a significant impact on the global economy, including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze how these conflicts affect the volume and value of Indonesia’s international trade. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach, with secondary data obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The results of the study show that global-scale conflicts influence Indonesia’s exports and imports, particularly in strategic commodities such as oil, gas, coal, and agricultural products. Indonesia’s trade policies have also undergone adjustments due to price fluctuations and logistical barriers caused by global conflicts.

Abstract

The hashtag "Kabur Aja Dulu" (Just Run Away First) trending in Indonesia reflects the growing interest of young people in becoming Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) abroad. In West Kalimantan, the Manpower Office (Disnaker), the Indonesian Migrant Workers Association (BP2MI), and the Job Training Institute (LPK) have provided training programs, including intensive language courses lasting at least six months as a prerequisite for employment. However, initial interviews revealed that many prospective workers withdrew due to difficulties in learning the language, which is closely related to their mindsets regarding language skills (language mindsets). This study aims to explore the fixed and growth language mindsets of PMI from West Kalimantan who have successfully completed training, passed language tests, and are now working abroad. The method used was a qualitative case study using semi-structured interviews with three PMI, supplemented by preliminary interviews with the Manpower Office and the LPK. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns of beliefs and learning strategies. The results indicate that successful PMI tend to have a growth mindset, reflected in the belief that language difficulties can be overcome with practice, self-learning strategies, and social support. A fixed mindset still appears in the initial stages, but shifts toward a growth mindset through learning experiences and small successes. This finding underscores the importance of developing a growth language mindset in supporting successful language training and the adaptation of Indonesian migrant workers to international work environments.

Abstract

The level of entrepreneurship in Indonesia remains low at approximately 3.47%, far below the 12% target required to achieve the status of a developed country. Since 2008, the government has encouraged higher education institutions to integrate entrepreneurship courses with the aim of producing competent young entrepreneurs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of entrepreneurship education on the entrepreneurial interest of students at Politeknik Negeri Pontianak, specifically those who are recipients of the Entrepreneurship Grant and winners of the Entrepreneurship Program. The method used is a mixed method, combining a quantitative approach with regression analysis using SPSS and a qualitative approach through data reduction, data display, and verification techniques. The results show that entrepreneurial knowledge significantly influences entrepreneurial interest with a contribution of 42.4%, while the remaining influence comes from other factors. The drivers of entrepreneurial interest include passion, family support, youth entrepreneurship trends, and advances in digital technology. Conversely, the main inhibiting factors are limited time, limited production tools, and low team commitment. The conclusion emphasizes that entrepreneurship education plays a crucial role in fostering entrepreneurial interest, but the success of its implementation heavily depends on external environmental support.
