Abstract

Indonesia, as one of the largest nickel producers in the world, has around 90% of nickel reserves spread across various regions, such as Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and North Maluku. Even though demand for nickel continues to increase, a severe problem that needs attention is the rate of work accidents in mining fields. Most heavy equipment accidents that occur are caused by operator negligence while operating. This negligence can occur when operators are in a hurry, make mistakes while using heavy equipment, or do not have proper work time management. This research aims to analyze the impact of 360-degree camera technology on excavator operators in nickel ore mines on work accident rates and operator workload. The case study was carried out at PT Rifky and Raisha Anursyah using the NASA-TLX method to measure workload. In contrast, the number of accidents that occurred to each operator within one month was used to measure work accidents. The 360 camera technology provides a comprehensive view of the work environment, allowing operators to monitor the surrounding area better and reduce blind spots. The research results show that applying this technology can reduce the risk of work accidents and increase the work efficiency of excavator operators. With better monitoring, operators can identify potential hazards earlier and reduce the risk of accidents. Workload evaluation using NASA-TLX shows a decrease in operator workload after implementing 360 camera technology. This research provides strategic recommendations for workload management and implementing safety technology in the mining industry.

Abstract

An expert system for diagnosing dengue fever (DF) using a comparison of the Naive Bayes and Dempster Shafer methods aims to provide a solution to assist medical personnel in diagnosing this disease. Dengue fever is a disease caused by the dengue virus infection through the bite of Aedes mosquitoes. It has symptoms similar to other diseases and requires rapid and accurate diagnosis. The Naive Bayes and Dempster Shafer methods were chosen because both have different approaches to handling uncertainty and imprecise information. The Naive Bayes method is a probability-based classification that assumes independence between features. Meanwhile, Dempster Shafer is an approach to handling uncertainty. Therefore, comparing Naive Bayes and Dempster Shafer allows for classification with structured and fairly straightforward data, offering accuracy and flexibility in dealing with uncertainty. Applying this expert system with these methods can help in the faster and more accurate diagnosis of DF and provide better recommendations in situations where the available data is incomplete or ambiguous. From the test data calculations, the two methods show that the Naive Bayes method has a higher percentage value of 93%, while Dempster Shafer has 86%.

Abstract

Pattern recognition is a discipline that aims to classify or describe objects based on their characteristics, quantitative measurements, or critical properties. Where a pattern is defined as an entity that is initially undefined, it can be identified and named through quantitative analysis. Pattern recognition can be applied to various fields, such as handwriting recognition, face recognition, eye recognition, skin, and image processing. One example of the application of pattern recognition is character recognition in letters used in learning. In this research, the digital image used as input comes from a two-dimensional image obtained through a digital camera. The digital image describes the light intensity in light and dark areas in the form of pixels and provides information about the object's color. To support the process of recognizing alphabet letters, which in this case are specifically Chinese alphabet letters, it will be assisted by using the Sokal Sneath Four Method. This significant mathematical approach helps create a compatible and accurate system for recognizing letter patterns through intensive data training. This method involves a series of steps, including data preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification, to train the system to recognize Chinese characters. The more training given to the system, the higher its accuracy in recognizing letter patterns, especially Chinese alphabet letters. The test results show that this Chinese alphabet letter pattern recognition system has a success rate of 65%, with a failure rate of 35%. Nevertheless, these results show room for further improvement in the algorithms used and the addition of training data to improve system performance and accuracy.
