Abstract

This paper explores young people’s understanding of political parties amid a crisis of legitimacy and public trust. Political parties are essential pillars of a democratic state, serving crucial functions as instruments of democracy and channels for public aspirations. However, political parties today face a severe trust crisis from society. This crisis stems from widespread disappointment toward politicians, parties, and their elites, which has fueled anti-party sentiment, particularly among young people. The purpose of this paper is to examine the issue of anti-party sentiment and its impact on democratization and the weakening legitimacy of political parties. The phenomenon is analyzed using the theory of anti-party sentiment, which identifies several forms of sentiment among young people, namely the denial of party, the selective acceptance of the party system, the selective rejection of the party system, and the redundancy of party. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach following Creswell’s framework. Through this phenomenological approach, the author investigates in depth the experiences of informants who exhibit anti-party sentiment among young people in the era of political digitalization in Cilegon, using interviews and objective observations. This paper discusses how society perceives and interprets the role of political parties in their everyday lives. Keywords: Political party, oligarchy, young people, anti-party sentiment.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of self-regulated learning on student learning outcomes, with religiosity as a mediating variable. The focus of this study is to understand whether religiosity can be an intermediary in the relationship between self-regulated learning and learning outcomes in students of the Basic Education Program at the Open University of Makassar. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design, this study involved 400 students from the Basic Education Program at the Open University of Makassar. The research variables consisted of self-regulated learning (8 items), religiosity (5 items), and learning outcomes (6 items), which were measured using a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using Smart PLS version 4.0 software. The results of the analysis showed that religiosity had a significant effect on learning outcomes (β = 0.557, p-value = 0.000), with an R² value of 0.319. However, self-regulated learning did not show a significant direct effect on learning outcomes (β = 0.053, p-value = 0.246). Self-regulated learning had a significant effect on religiosity (β = 0.110, p-value = 0.033), and religiosity acted as a mediator between self-regulated learning and learning outcomes, with a significant indirect effect (β = 0.061, p-value = 0.033). These findings indicate that religiosity plays an important role in improving student learning outcomes, both directly and through its role as a mediator between self-regulated learning and learning outcomes. Keywords: Self-Regulation Learning; Learning Outcomes; Religiosity; Mediation.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to present a conceptual study on the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model as an innovative strategy to improve student learning outcomes in Social Studies (IPS). The Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is designed to hone students' critical thinking, analytical, creative, and collaborative skills in the process of solving problems oriented towards real-life situations, which in turn can encourage an increase in students' academic achievement. This study uses a library research approach by referring to various literature sources, scientific journals, and previous research results relevant to the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The results of the research findings show that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in improving student learning outcomes in social studies. This model is implemented through group discussions and problem solving activities that are relevant to the daily lives of students, thereby stimulating active thinking and problem-solving skills. The findings in this study are expected to make a significant contribution, both theoretically and practically, to educators, researchers, and policymakers in developing more creative, participatory, and relevant learning strategies, as well as serving as a reference for other researchers who wish to develop similar research in the context of education. Abstract

This literature review aims to examine the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in reducing academic procrastination among students. Using a descriptive qualitative design, the study synthesized ten national and international empirical articles published between 2019 and 2025. The analysis was conducted through three stages: identifying key themes, comparing findings across studies, and synthesizing common patterns. The results consistently indicate that CBT effectively reduces academic procrastination across various educational contexts, whether delivered individually, in groups, or online. The therapeutic mechanism centers on cognitive restructuring and behavioral modification, enabling students to recognize and replace irrational thoughts while developing adaptive study habits. Intervention duration ranged from four to eleven sessions, with mid-length programs showing more stable long-term effects. Self-efficacy, social support, and self-control emerged as significant mediators and moderators enhancing the effectiveness of CBT. Theoretically, these findings reinforce cognitive-behavioral and social-cognitive frameworks that emphasize the interplay between cognition, behavior, and emotional regulation. Practically, CBT demonstrates adaptability for academic counseling services in both face-to-face and online settings, functioning as both a preventive and corrective strategy to improve students’ self-regulation and learning motivation. This review concludes that CBT is an evidence-based intervention that effectively enhances students’ psychological well-being and sustainable academic achievement. Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of humanistic learning to address the challenges of modern education through a literature review approach. Humanistic learning emphasizes the holistic development of students' potential, including cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, and places students at the center of the learning process. Amidst globalization, the development of digital technology, the demand for modern-day skills, and the increasing complexity of socio-cultural issues, a humanistic approach is considered relevant for maintaining the human dimension in education. This study analyzes various scientific literature discussing the concept of humanism, humanistic learning models, and their implementation in various modern educational contexts. The results indicate that humanistic learning can enhance students' intrinsic motivation, creativity, emotional engagement, and learning independence. Furthermore, this approach can counterbalance the tendency toward dehumanization in technology-based education. However, the study also identified various challenges, such as limited teacher competency, school cultural resistance, and the suboptimal integration of curricula that support learner-centered learning. The study concludes that the application of humanistic learning remains relevant and needs to be strengthened through teacher training, the provision of supportive learning environments, and educational policies that emphasize human values.

Abstract

Meltdown in children with autism refers to a condition in which the child loses emotional control due to sensory overload, changes in routine, or difficulty expressing needs. This phenomenon frequently occurs in special education settings, including at SLB Negeri 1 Bulukumba, particularly among children aged 5–8 years. This study aims to describe the strategies used by teachers to manage meltdowns and identify factors that influence their effectiveness. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The participants consisted of one classroom teacher selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis over two days (9–10 November 2024), and were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model. The findings reveal three main strategies: preventive strategies, including building emotional rapport, adjusting learning activities to students' interests, and strengthening routines; intervention strategies, involving maintaining a calm atmosphere, reducing stimulation, and providing safe physical contact; and post-meltdown recovery strategies, including allowing emotional cooldown time, assigning light activities, and evaluating triggers to adjust individual learning plans. The effectiveness of these strategies is shaped by classroom conditions, overstimulation risks, available facilities, and communication with parents. This study highlights the importance of empathetic, flexible, and context-sensitive approaches in supporting emotional regulation for children with autism in special education settings.
