Abstract

Reading and writing are the basic abilities of a learner in the world of education. By reading a student is able to obtain information using word media while writing makes a student able to transform ideas through writing that can be read by others. Apart from normal students, reading and writing are also abilities that must be possessed by inclusive children. This study aims to look for problems in SDLB Purwosari, namely to find out the increase in reading and writing skills through FLEADIO media (flashcard braille animals and audio) in blind children. This study applies a problem-based learning approach, which is a quasi-experimental methodology. Performance evaluations, interviews, and observation are among methods used in data collecting. The analysis of the data was done with basic descriptive statistics. A sixth-grade student at SDLB Purwosari served as the research subject. The study's findings demonstrated that using FLEADIO (braille animals and audio flashcards) media improved the reading and writingabilities of SDLB Purwosari's class VI pupils.

Abstract

This literature study aims to describe the implementation of inclusive education in regular schools in Indonesia along with the challenges and advantages in its implementation. The selection of journal articles in this literature study is based on several inclusion and exclusion criteria, namely, articles published in the period 2019-2024 or in the last 5 years except for basic theory, the research location comes from a regular school, the type or research method uses quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods, and articles in English and Indonesian. Then, the exclusion criteria specified were articles or research that have been published for more than 5 years, research locations that are not from state schools, articles with methods other than quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods, and languages used other than English and Indonesian. Thus, 13 suitable journals were found. The results of this literature study found that the implementation of inclusive education in regular schools still has many shortcomings that need to be addressed. Some of the main problems are the insufficient availability of shadow teachers (or if it's in Indonesian is GPK) and the distribution of aid funds that have not been provided, which has an impact on the development of school facilities and infrastructure. So, by considering several challenges and success factors, it is hoped that this can be taken into consideration in improving and equitable implementation of inclusive education in regular schools in Indonesia. .

Abstract

Every human being is essentially the same, obtaining the same rights and opportunities in various ways including obtaining education for the sustainability of his life regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, culture or religion. Similarly with children with special needs, therefore school inclusion is an answer that education is not a discrimination. Inclusion schools are schools that mix children with special needs with other normal children to learn and interact together. Children with special needs hold different perspectives in understanding a subject. Therefore, this article aims to discuss what strategies are suitable for children with special needs with slow learner and speech delay categories in order to achieve educational goals. Descriptive research with a qualitative approach is the method that researchers will use in this study. Data collection techniques used observation and documentation. This study shows that learners with special needs tend to easily understand the subject matter through things that learners like movies. However, keep in mind that children with special needs have different characteristics and cannot be generalized. Therefore, to find the right learning strategy teachers must conduct initial activities through observation of students with special needs.
