Abstract

Effective inventory management is essential for manufacturing companies to ensure smooth production processes. This study was conducted in the Production Department, which faces challenges in managing the inventory of FM Machine dies, including irregular stock turnover, an excess of rarely used items, and shortages of high-rotation items. This research aims to apply the Fast Moving, Slow Moving, Non-Moving (FSN) Analysis method based on the Turn Over Ratio (TOR) to classify inventory according to its movement levels. Historical inventory data of dies from January to December 2023 were analyzed to calculate average inventory, partial TOR, storage duration, and annual TOR. The results showed that out of 53 types of dies, 43% were categorized as Fast Moving, 32% as Slow Moving, and 25% as Non-Moving. These findings provide a framework for optimizing inventory management by prioritizing procurement based on actual needs. In conclusion, the FSN Analysis method based on TOR is effective in creating an efficient inventory management system, reducing storage costs, and ensuring the availability of items to support smooth operations. Abstract

Raw material inventory control is a very crucial activity because it is done repeatedly. PT. CKA engaged in the fabrication or manufacturing of components for motorcycle and car engines and has not implemented any system or method that can help the process of controlling its raw material inventory. Therefore, in this study, calculations will be carried out regarding raw material inventory control using the Just in Time (JIT) method which aims to determine whether the process of controlling raw material inventory from the most frequently ordered products to PT. CKA, namely SPCC Plate for KYEA Arm Rear Brake products and SPHC-PO Plate for KWBF Arm Rear Brake products at PT. CKA has been effective and efficient so that it can minimize waste in the procurement process of raw materials that can affect the total cost of the raw material inventory. The results of this study show that the total cost of raw material inventory when the Just in Time method is applied has decreased by Rp10.868.938,9 from Rp11.520.165 to Rp651.226,13 with an efficiency percentage of 94% for the total cost of SPCC Plate material inventory. Meanwhile, the total cost of SPHC-PO Plate material inventory also decreased by Rp10.717.408 from Rp11.520.132,5 to Rp802.724,49 with an efficiency percentage of 93%. Abstract

The paper packaging process plays an important role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of product distribution, but is often not supported by optimal labor allocation. Inefficient labor allocation at PT XCX leads to resource wastage, thereby requiring objective measurements to establish the ideal number of workers. This study aims to analyze work elements, calculate standard time, and determine the number of labor requirements in the B5 size paper packaging process at PT XCX. The research method used is Time Motion Study to measure the duration of each work element and Work Load Analysis based on actual production data of 174,356 reams/month and available working time of 630,000 seconds/month. The results show that the average standard time to complete one packaging cycle is 44.56 seconds, and the ideal number of workers is 12 people. The scientific findings show that the excess of two workers from the actual number (14 people) does not have an impact on increasing productivity, but rather becomes a potential waste. This research contributes to the optimization of human resources based on actual data and suggests the application of similar methods in other production lines with additional ergonomic variables as further development. Abstract

Buska Indah Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) produce household furniture such as chairs, doors, and windows. The results show that the production facility layout at Buska Indah SME is still inefficient. This is indicated by disorganized workflow, long material handling distances, and accumulation of goods in several locations that can disrupt production. These conditions lead to inefficient time usage and increased operator workload. In this study, the layout was redesigned with the aim of identifying, assessing, and controlling ergonomic factors at the workplace. The Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method and the graph method were used to solve the problem. An efficient layout can be achieved by utilizing both approaches to reduce material handling distances and labor costs. Analysis results indicate that the proposed layout using the SLP method has the smallest travel distance, 118.8 m², compared to the graph method. producing a displacement distance of 177.1 m². As a result, the SLP method was chosen as the best alternative. The proposed layout for IKM Buska Indah requires a production area of 446.95 square meters. Therefore, IKM Buska Indah must consider and readjust the production area to make work activities more efficient and ergonomic. Keywords: Graphical Method, Layout, Systematic Layout Planning

Abstract

Supplier selection is a strategic process that plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth production and the quality of the final product. PT AMI, an export-oriented garment company, faces challenges in selecting metal end suppliers because the selection process has been subjective, relying solely on price comparisons and neglecting other relevant criteria. This has led to inconsistent material quality, delivery delays, and a high rate of product defects. This study aims to apply the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the best supplier based on a multicriteria evaluation involving five main criteria: quality, price, delivery, payment, and procedure, with a total of 18 subcriteria. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires with three respondents from relevant departments (Quality Control, Purchasing, and Production). The AHP results indicate that quality is the most influential criterion, with a weight of 0.528, followed by price (0.197), delivery (0.125), payment (0.082), and procedure (0.068). Among the three supplier alternatives, Magic Trim LTD was selected as the best supplier with a final weight of 0.5759. The AHP method has proven effective in supporting companies in making more objective and measurable decisions when selecting suppliers.
