Abstract

Cabai merupakan salah satu komoditas holtikultura penting di Indonesia. Permasalahan dalam budidaya tanaman cabai adalah adalah serangan Organisme Pengganggu Tanaman (OPT) yang dapat menyebabkan kerugian. Ekosistem pada tanaman cabai dapat mempengaruhi terhadap keberadaaan OPT. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat keragaman dan dominansi serangga pada agroekosistem tanaman cabai. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di Kp. Cilemah Desa Samarang Kabupaten Garut pada ketinggian 590 mdpl. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2025 selama 14 hari. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dimana data yang diperoleh berasal dari pitfall trap yang dipasangan sejumlah 16 lubang yang dipasangkan secara acak. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat keanekaragaman serangga pada agroekosistem cabai tergolong dalam kategori rendah dengan nilai 0.31092 dan tingkat dominansi serangga pada agro-ekosistem cabai tergolong dalam kategori sedang dengan nilai 0.91. Peranan serangga yang ditemukan pada pada agroekosistem tanaman cabai adalah sebagai hama, musuh alami, predator, pengurai, dan pollinator. Maka dari itu, diperlukan cara tepat dalam pengendalian OPT agar tidak merusak agroeksistem cabai dan membunuh serangga menguntungkan.

Abstract

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is a widely consumed vegetable crop. Proper cultivation techniques, particularly fertilization, play a crucial role in enhancing its productivity. The application of various types and doses of organic fertilizers is expected to influence the growth and yield of the TM Blazer tomato cultivar. However, organic fertilizer application may also lead to an increase in weed growth in the field, necessitating an assessment of weed diversity. This study was conducted from June to September 2024 in Karamatwangi Village, Cisurupan District, Garut Regency. A factorial randomized complete block design (RCBD) with a 4 × 3 factorial arrangement and two replications was employed. The first factor was the type of organic fertilizer (P): p0 (control), p1 (cattle manure), p2 (sheep manure), and p3 (chicken manure). The second factor was the fertilizer dosage (D): d1 (5 tons/ha), d2 (10 tons/ha), and d3 (15 tons/ha). The results indicated no significant interaction between the type and dosage of organic fertilizers. However, chicken manure (p3) exhibited a significant independent effect on plant growth parameters. A dosage of 15 tons/ha significantly influenced plant height, leaf number, stem diameter, leaf area, and fruit weight at 42 and 63 days after transplanting (DAT).

Abstract

Peningkatan kebutuhan pangan nasional berdampak pada pemanfaatan lahan pertanian yang semakin intensif, yang seringkali memicu degradasi lahan. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) menjadi esensial untuk mengelola sumber daya lahan secara berkelanjutan, khususnya untuk komoditas strategis seperti cabai (Capsicum annuum L.). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan memetakan tingkat kesesuaian lahan untuk budidaya tanaman cabai di Kecamatan Samarang, Kabupaten Garut, serta menyediakan rekomendasi teknis untuk pengembangannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah Spatial Multi-criteria Evaluation (SMCE) dengan metode skoring. Analisis dilakukan dengan tumpang susun (overlay) peta tematik (penggunaan lahan dan kemiringan lereng) untuk menentukan unit lahan. Parameter yang dievaluasi mencakup temperatur, curah hujan, pH tanah, kedalaman solum, dan lereng. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ditemukan lahan dengan kategori Sangat Sesuai (S1) di lokasi penelitian. Sebagian besar lahan, seluas 4809.107 ha (89.25%), masuk dalam kelas Cukup Sesuai (S3), dan sisanya seluas 579.4835 ha (10.75%) tergolong Sesuai Marjinal (S2). Faktor pembatas utama yang teridentifikasi di seluruh wilayah studi adalah curah hujan yang tinggi (>1400 mm/tahun) dan kemiringan lereng. Rekomendasi teknis yang diajukan untuk optimalisasi lahan adalah pembuatan saluran drainase untuk mengelola kelebihan air serta penerapan teknik konservasi tanah dan air, seperti terasering, untuk memitigasi risiko erosi.

Abstract

Agriculture in Garut Regency, as a center for food and horticultural production, faces challenges due to declining soil fertility resulting from fertilizer practices that are not yet fully based on site-specific conditions. This study aims to interpret soil analysis results to determine soil fertility status and develop site-specific integrated nutrient management recommendations to improve fertilizer efficiency and ensure the sustainability of agricultural systems. The research was conducted on agricultural land in Sukamaju Village (Cilawu Subdistrict) and Cikandang Village (Cikajang Subdistrict), Garut Regency. Soil samples were purposively collected from a depth of 0–30 cm during October 2025. Soil analyses included pH, organic carbon, P HCl 25%, K HCl 25%, CEC, and base saturation to support site-specific fertility assessment and nutrient management planning. Soil chemical analysis in Sukamaju Village (Cilawu Subdistrict) showed a pH of 8,2 and organic carbon content of 4.73%. The P₂O₅ HCl 25% value was recorded at 91,20 mg.100 g-1, K₂O HCl 25% at 52,15 mg.100 g-1, CEC at 41,30 cmol.kg-1, and base saturation at 63,12%, indicating a high soil fertility status. Meanwhile, soil analysis in Cikandang Village (Cikajang Subdistrict) revealed a pH of 7, soil organic carbon of 5,58%, P₂O₅ HCl 25% of 99,53 mg.100 g-1, K₂O HCl 25% of 52,15 mg.100 g-1, CEC of 47,85 cmol.kg-1, and base saturation of 25,16%, indicating a low fertility status. Fertility maintenance strategies are recommended for high status soils, while nutrient balance improvement particularly for base cations and potassium is advised for low fertility soils.

Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is a horticultural commodity with high economic value. This study aimed to examine the interaction and individual effects of various doses of urea fertilizer and different types of sand media on the vegetative growth of corn plants. The research was conducted in Kersamenak Village, Garut Regency, from June to August 2025. The method used was a 3x3 factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The first factor was the dose of urea fertilizer (A), consisting of three levels: a1 = 100 kg,ha-1, a2 = 150 kg.ha-1, a3 = 200 kg.ha-1. The second factor was the type of sand media (M), consisting of three levels: m1 = Cilopang Sand, m2 = River Sand, and m3 = Leles Sand. The results showed that there was no significant interaction between the dose of urea fertilizer and the type of sand media on all parameters of corn plant vegetative growth. Individually, the application of urea fertilizer at a rate of 100 kg ha⁻¹ resulted in vegetative growth that had already reached its optimal level. Cilopang Sand tended to yield better leaf area growth compared to River Sand and Leles Sand.
