Abstract

This article aims to identify language errors in Instagram posts. The source of data in this study is posts on social media Instagram. The data in this article are words, phrases, and sentences contained in posts on Instagram. The data collection method used is descriptive qualitative. The technique used in retrieving data is by reading and taking notes from what has been found in Instagram posts. The results in this article are errors in the use of spelling and punctuation, morphology, and syntax. The errors in the use of spelling and punctuation found were errors in the use of periods (.), commas (,), hyphens (-), capital letters, and question marks (?). The errors found in the morphological field were the use of repeated words, capital letters in all words and word abbreviations, not in accordance with PUEBI, word writing, and prepositions. In the field of syntax, the errors found were the use of redundant words and unclear sentences. The conclusion obtained is that in writing posts on Instagram there are still many language errors. Abstract

The aims of this study is to analyze the types of flouting of maxim found in Kong Skull island movie and to identify the reasons behind the flouting of maxim since it is very important in order to make the communication as effective as possible. In this study, the researcher used a theory proposed by Grice (1975) in analyzing the types of flouting of maxim and a theory proposed by Leech (1983) in analyzing the reason behind the flouting of maxim occurs in the movie. This study used both formal and informal methods in providing the deeper understanding regarding to the flouting of maxim and the reasons of flouting. The data were collected from the conversation occurred among the characters in Kong Skull Island movie and qualitative method was applied in the research. The data were collected through observation and note taking technique. The finding showed that flouting maxim occurred 30 times, they were flouting maxim of quantity 14 times (46,67%), flouting maxim of quality 4 times (13,33%), flouting maxim of relation 9 times (30,00%) and flouting maxim of manner 3 times (10,00%). The reason of flouting maxim found with frequency; competitive reason 6 times (20,00%), convivial reason 1 time (3,33%), collaborative reason 19 times (63,33%) and conflictive reason 4 times (13,34%). To sum up, the researcher found that the most types of maxim flouted by the characters in the movie is flouting maxim of quantity and the most types of reason behind the flouting maxim is collaborative reason. Abstract

This research entitled “Yang in Indonesian language”. The word yang is as one of the language Aspects that must be studied to get the clear usage. Particle yang has some identities and functions. This research aims to find out the identities and functions of yang in Indonesian language. In collecting the data, observation and note-taking techniques were employed. In analyzing the data, distribusional method and substitution technique were applied. In presenting the result of the analysis, informal method was used. This study finds out three identities of yang namely 1) yang as particle, 2) yang as conjunction, and 3) yang as noun builder. In addition, yang has two functions in Indonesian language, namely yang functions as clause conjunction and yang functions as noun substitution. Keywords: yang, particle, conjunction

Abstract

Bali Safari and Marine Park is a tourist attraction that combines wildlife in its natural habitat with ecosystems that intersect with local culture. With the arrival of tourists to Bali Safari and Marine Park, the availability of public signs (outdoor signs) is an important component in providing the information needed by visitors. Due to the limited media available for outdoor signs (public signs), sentences used in outdoor signs (public signs) are always short and concise, important information is only conveyed in a few words or phrases. This study aims to determine the translation technique used for public signs at Bali Safari and Marine Park. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, with data sources in the form of outdoor signs (public signs) at Bali Safari and Marine Park. The data was obtained through a visual repertoire or photo data in the form of public signs at Bali Safari and Marine Park. Data were analyzed using qualitative-quantitative analysis method. The results will be presented formally in the form of tables and charts to describe the amount of data, as well as informally, namely the results will be described in sentences to make it easier to understand and understand. Abstract

This research is a form of semantic research but by modifying the phonological elements in it. It is well known that minor and fundamental changes in the syntactic structure will affect its meaning. This study uses qualitative methods and experimental methods. Qualitative methods intend to understand phenomena about what is experienced by research subjects such as perceptions, motivations, actions, and others holistically, by means of descriptions in the form of language words. In this case, a qualitative method is applied in analyzing the research data, namely the song Celeng Guling by Widi-Widiana. Then the experimental method is a method to find out the consequences of the treatment given to a thing being studied. The application in this case is by modifying the phoneme of a word in the lyrics of the song so that it produces different words and changes the structure of meaning in it. Abstract

This research is intended as a pilot study to find out the implications of the dysarthria of the phoneme /r/ trill on the quality of other consonant phonemes produced at the same place of articulation. This study was designed using a descriptive quantitative-qualitative approach with field methods. In collecting data, the observation method was used to collect data in the form of consonant and vowel phonemes produced by 4 dysarthria samples and 4 non- dysarthria samples. The collected data were then analyzed using extralingual and intralingual comparison methods. The results of the study show that if the place of articulation where a sound is produced has a problem, then the problem will affect all the sounds produced in that place. The hard production of the alveolar trill /r/ phoneme in dysarthria sufferers has implications for the production of other alveolar sounds, namely /t/ and /d/ which become weaker and more nasal. Abstract

Discourse is the highest language unit above the clause and has sentences which are interrelated and related both semantically and contextually. The correlation in discourse can be divided into two types, the relevance of form or cohesion and the relevance of meaning or coherence. Through this research, the author will conduct a discourse analysis on the lyrics of Mandarin songs by Joker Xue (薛之谦), the objects of this research are based of Joker Xue’s(薛之谦) love-relationship songs which has a similar theme. Some songs which were taken as objects for this research are《认真的雪》 、《你还要我怎样》 、《深深的爱过你》 今生版 ， and 《演员》. Through this research, the author will analyze the correlation between cohesion and coherence in the lyrics of the songs by Joker Xue (薛之谦) which affects the writing style. The focus of this research is grammatical cohesion, lexical cohesion, and coherence.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi bentuk dan makna penamaan pesantren di lamongan. Pendekatan deskriptif merupakan pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pendekatan deskriptif digunakan untuk membuat deskripsi atau gambaran, lukisan secara sistematis, faktual dan akurat mengenai data, sifat-sifat serta hubungan fenomena-fenomena yang diteliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Metode ini digunakan ketika menghimpun dan menganalisa data tentang nama pesantren. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, wawancara, dan rekam. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan nama-nama pesantren di lamongan menganalisis bentuk dan makna penamaannya. berdasarkan pengamatan dan analisis data mengenai lingkungan biotik dan abbiotik ditemukan (1) makna nama pengharapan futuratif, (2) makna nama pengharapan situasional, (3) makna nama kenangan, (4) cara penamaan lingkungan biotik, (5) cara penamaan lingkungan abiotik. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Penerapan Faktor-faktor yang Mempengaruhi Lemahnya Minat Mahasiswa terhadap Sastra dan Budaya di Cianjur. Metode ini yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu kualitatif. Data ini diperoleh dari responden Mahasiswa Universitas Putra Indonesia dengan menyebarkan quesioner melalui Google form. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat 4 Faktor Sastra yang mempengaruhi Lemahnya Minat Mahasiswa terhadap Sastra dan Budaya di Cianjur. Diantaranya yaitu: 1). Daya pikir seseorang, 2). Tempat tinggal seseorang, 3). Faktor ekonomi yang terbatas, 4). Sarana hati seseorang. Selain itu Faktor Budaya terdapat 9 faktor yaitu diantaranya: 1). Faktor lingkungan, 2). Faktor perkembangan teknologi, 3). Faktor sarana kurang memadai, 4). Faktor ras, 5). Faktor hubungan antar bangsa, 6). Faktor sosial, 7). Faktor religi, 8). Faktor mode, 9). Faktor prestige. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi Lemahnya Minat Mahasiswa terhadap Sastra dan Budaya di Cianjur. Kata Kunci: Sastra, Pilar Budaya

Abstract

It has been researched in some studies and related theories confirming that using picture in teaching English vocabulary was very effective. Especially for young learner in elementary school which has Bahasa Indonesia as their main language, the vocabulary problem used to occurred in spelling, pronunciation, grammatical use, and meaning. Those language aspects become main obstacle for them. This research explores the implementation of English vocabulary and to find out the score improvement in using picture in learning process. The objective of this research is to find out the effectiveness of picture in improving students’ vocabulary. The research is conducted in Santo Yoseph 1 elementary school Denpasar in the class of 3B .It was conducted in two cycles to twenty-seven participants. Instruments used were tests, questionnaires, and observation. Results showed that an initial vocabulary mastery was 75.6 points, and increased to 86.08 in the final cycle of the study. In the same way, the questionnaire results in the second cycle revealed that although the students still found English learning (85.50) and memorizing vocabulary (70.37%) difficult, their interest in learning it increased (59.26% from 29.63%). Finally, the observation results of the second cycle also showed the improvement of both students’ and teacher’s teaching and learning atmosphere as well as interest. However, a further study and learning policy are worthy to assure the application of the pictorial aids facilitating the attractive and motivating learning atmosphere in the future.
