Abstract

This study is to examine in depth the polemic of law enforcement of corruption crimes (a case study of sugar imports by the Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong) and comprehensively discuss the legal and political framework for the eradication of corruption in Indonesia. The type of research is normative juridical with a descriptive-analytical approach, discussing existing legal symptoms and problems and testing them based on laws regulations, and legal norms. The results of this study show that the analysis of the handling of the case of alleged corruption in Thomas Lembong's sugar imports has many problems, including the requirement for political interests, not following the procedure and the time for determining the suspect is very long, the amount of state losses is uncertain, there is not enough evidence and only focuses on one individual. Corruption as an extraordinary crime requires extraordinary handling, including penal policies regulated in several regulations such as the law on the eradication of corruption crimes, the law on the corruption eradication commission, the Criminal Code, to the Presidential Regulation on the national strategy for corruption prevention, as well as non-penal policies including: public awareness education, administrative reform and strengthening of supervisory institutions

Abstract

This research aims to discuss the legal arrangements of reverse evidence in corruption trials and comprehensively examine the obstacles and challenges of reverse evidence in corruption cases. The type of research is normative juridical, which discusses certain legal phenomena and analyses them based on laws or norms that live in society. The results of this study show that the reverse proof system is regulated in the provisions of Article 37, Article 37A, and Article 38B of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption, which states the defendant's obligation to prove otherwise against property owned not derived from the proceeds of corruption crimes. Reverse proof of corruption crimes has obstacles and challenges such as legal substance factors, focus of proof, inconsistency, violation of rights, and resistance of law enforcement. The challenges of reverse proof are: improving the performance, professionalism, and integrity of law enforcement officials, as well as the clarity of regulations to apply reverse evidence outside of corruption crimes such as narcotics and terrorism.

Abstract

This paper explores the integration of multicultural education and community-based economic systems in Indonesia from the perspective of Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI). Multicultural education in Indonesia is a crucial approach to fostering mutual respect and understanding among the diverse ethnic and religious groups in the country. Simultaneously, the economic system known as 'Sistem Ekonomi Kerakyatan', or people's economy, emphasizes equity and communal prosperity in line with Islamic economic principles. This study analyzes how PAI can inform and enhance both these frameworks to promote inclusive educational practices and economic systems that cater to diverse communities. By employing qualitative methods, including literature review and case studies, the paper demonstrates the potential of PAI to serve as a foundational element in strengthening societal cohesion and economic sustainability. The findings suggest that a PAI-informed approach can effectively address the challenges of diversity and economic disparity, offering a model for other nations with similar multicultural and economic contexts.

Abstract

This review comprehensively examines the construction of intercultural dialogue through a multicultural education approach, focusing on the perspective of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in Indonesia. In the context of a society rich in cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity, multicultural education becomes an important tool for building understanding, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. The core principles of multicultural education, such as equality, diversity, intercultural dialogue, social justice, and cultural awareness and sensitivity, are integrated into the PAI curriculum to promote universal Islamic values, such as tasamuh (tolerance) and ukhuwah (brotherhood). The reviewed studies indicate that multicultural education strategies in PAI can enhance attitudes of tolerance and social cohesion among students, creating an inclusive learning environment that values diversity. However, challenges such as limited systemic integration and culturally responsive teacher training remain obstacles. This review recommends strengthening the curriculum, ongoing teacher training, and active community participation to achieve effective and sustainable intercultural dialogue.
