Abstract

Teachers are not expected to become only teachers. They must also be able to play their roles as educators. Here all challenges may come their way in establishing their career in which they are obliged to build their students’ character. To present the materials before the class may be quite a challange, but to make noble successful men out of the students is even more challenging. This task may be faced with violence from the students whose motivation of study is on the verge of being corrupted. This paper discusses in particular students’ psychological violence against teachers and how educational psychology comes in rescue to put the feather back on the teachers’ cap and maintain their professionalism.

Abstract

The main purpose of this writing is to review and how to implement two critical thinking models, namely model to generate critical thinking and critical questions – a linear model. These two critical thinking models can be applied in the reading comprehension instruction, since there relationship between reading comprehension and critical thinking is so close. The specific issues being discussed include schema theory as a rational premise for the connection between reading comprehension and critical thinking, cognitive development processes, critical thinking: its nature and definitions, critical thinking: skills and dispositions, and critical thinking and reading comprehension. The results revealed that: (1) there is well established relationship between reading comprehension and critical thinking, (2) schema theory provides a rational premise for that relation, and (3) there is no consensus regarding the definition of critical thinking which might be interpreted as a lack of an accepted framework for critical thinking.

Abstract

A language requires some certain ways of putting their words together to get some ideas across. These words have some relationship and bond that may escape the attentions of some EFL learners who rely merely upon grammatical skills and vocabulary to build sentences. It is true that grammatical structure connects all the words together to convey the meaning, but there is more to it than meet the eyes when ‘naturalness’ is also our concern. At times, the influence of one’s mother tongue over one’s diction in a foreign language is responsible for the production of unnatural expressions in that foreign language. Once this problem comes to surface, a better look at word pairing-habit in that foreign language should be a priority in which case collocations are the stars on the stage, worthy of our most attention.

Abstract

Islamic Education Study Program. Currently, some Muslims have less realizing the true meaning of education from worship of prayer in congregation. The person who has understood the meaning of education in worship in congregation, his mind, attitude and his way of thinking must be in accordance with the guidance of al-Qur'ân and Hadith. Thus, how important is the significance and meaning of prayer for a servant to Allah swt. Praying is said to be something of the greatest , since prayer involves three human components at once; first, body movements; second, oral speech; and thirdly, the inner adoration, which are all directed to Him. The order to perform the prayer was revealed when the Prophet Muhammad saw did Isra' Mi'raj. Prayer is the most important mean  to complain about all of human problems to Allah swt. Praying in congregation indirectly trains us to be discipline, holy, patient and to strengthen the sense of brotherhood among Muslims. Patience and prayer are the wisest and most effective way for a Muslim to deal with the problems and trials that override him so that his anxiety will not become prolonged.
