Abstract

Success in learning mathematics can be seen from understanding students' initial mathematical concepts, but a low average score is an indication of difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts related to algebraic operations. This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning models Think Pair Share (TPS) type assisted by student worksheets (LKPD) on students' understanding of algebraic operations. The research design used was Pre-Experimental Design (Non Design) in the form of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study was all class VII, while the selected sample was class VIIA as the control class and class VIIB as the experimental class. Data on the ability to understand different concepts were taken using a pretest-posttest instrument in the form of essay questions. Before further analyzing the results of the pretest-posttest, the two classes were first tested for normality and homogeneity. The results of the hypothesis test show that = 0.441 < = 1.96 which means Ho is accepted, so that there is a difference between understanding the operation of algebraic forms in the experimental and control classes or in other words there is no effect of the TPS type cooperative learning model assisted by LKPD on understanding the operation of the form. algebra to students. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between mathematical communication and problem solving skills and the level of mathematical communication skills and problem solving abilities of seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Kuripan for the academic year 2020/2021. This type of research was ex-post facto research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Kuripan with a total of 126 students. The sampling technique used is a non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling type. Collecting data used were tests to obtain mathematical communication data and problem solving ability data. Data analysis technique used was Pearson product moment. The results of this study indicated that the level of mathematical communication of class VII C students of SMP Negeri 2 Kuripan in solving math problems on the set material as a whole was in the medium category with an average of 12.3. it was found that 6 students had good communication skills or with a percentage (25%), 8 students had moderate communication skills or with a percentage (33.3) 10 students were less capable or with a percentage (41.7) Problem Solving Communication Level students of class VII C SMP Negeri 2 Kuripan in solving math problems on the set material as a whole was in the medium category with an average of 18.21. it was found that 5 students had good problem-solving abilities or with a percentage (20.8%), 10 students had moderate problem-solving abilities or with a percentage (41.7), 9 students had poor problem-solving abilities or with a percentage (37.5). While the results the hypothesis test was 0.337 indicating that there was no significant relationship between mathematical communication and problem solving abilities of class VII students of SMPN 2 Kuripan for the academic year 2020/2021.

Abstract

This study aims to produce and determine the feasibility of e-learning based Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle in class X trigonometry. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data was collected through validation of e-learning by validators and student response questionnaires. Development media in research This was validated by material experts, media experts, and tested on class X students of SMAN 1 Lingsar, West Lombok, NTB. The test subjects in the development of this media were 34 students of class X IPA 1 who were selected using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that at the validation stage by material experts and media experts, the validity results were 90.67% and 90.00% with the media category "Very Eligible". Meanwhile, at the trial stage, the response of students to e-learning obtained an average result of 87.23%, namely in the "Very Good" category. Thus, it can be concluded that e-learning is very suitable for use by class X students of SMAN 1 Lingsar, especially in trigonometry material.

Abstract

This paper presents the development of the learning design for the Two Variable Linear Inequality System (SPtLDV) material using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model for high school students. To find out the suitability of the learning model with the teaching material, student analysis, needs analysis, and task analysis are discussed in detail. PBL stages consist of 5 phases, namely 1) student orientation to problems; 2) organize students to learn; 3) guide individual and group investigations; 4) develop and present the work; and 5) analyze and evaluate the problem solving process. The results and discussion are discussed in detail to determine the suitability of the selection of teaching materials with the chosen learning objectives and how the learning activities support the learning objectives. Then to determine the effectiveness of the PBL design, it is necessary to evaluate both formative evaluation and summative evaluation.

Abstract

One of the mathematical abilities that must be mastered by students is the ability to solve mathematical problems. If students have good mathematical problem solving skills, students not only memorize the concepts that have been taught but can also be applied in everyday life and other disciplines. Therefore, it is important for a student to improve his mathematical problem solving abilities. But in learning, the teacher often gives questions that are routine which causes the students' mathematical problem solving ability to be low. When students are asked to work on non-routine questions, students find it difficult. Therefore, the authors designed a learning design that allows students to apply mathematical concepts to other disciplines and everyday life. The design of learning design chosen by the author is to use the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning approach which is expected to use the STEM approach to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities.

Abstract

This article presents the development of blended learning designs for the subject of determinant and inverse of a matrix for class X. Learning development is carried out using needs analysis, student analysis, and task analysis. Performance objectives and learning outcomes are discussed in detail and adjusted to the learning objectives. The conclusion of this article is that blended learning design is recommended for the subject of determinant and inverse of a matrix. This is because this design can increase the motivation and activity of students and the interaction between teachers and students as well as interactions between students, so that mathematical understanding and problem-solving abilities are also increased.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh minat belajar dan kebiasaan belajar terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Wawo tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode ex post facto. Populasi dari penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas VIII sebanyak 45 siswa yang terdiri dari 2 kelas, yakni kelas VIIIA dan kelas VIIIB. Sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel jenuh atau total sampling dimana seluruh populasi menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis korelasi dan analisis regresi. Sebelum melakukan uji hipotesis, terlebih dahulu melakukan uji prasyarat yaitu uji normalitas, uji linieritas, dan uji mulikolinieritas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) minat belajar memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa dengan kontribusi sebesar 50,7%; 2) kebiasaan belajar memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa dengan kontribusi sebesar 54%; 3) minat belajar dan kebiasaan belajar memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa dengan kontribusi sebesar 59,1%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa minat belajar dan kebiasaan belajar memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Wawo tahun ajaran 2021/2022.

Abstract

The current education system must change according to the times. The existing conventional education system makes students far behind in keeping up with the times. Students are asked to remember knowledge from authentic sources such as reading textbooks, parents who rarely take part in educating their children, knowledge is only obtained from the results of teacher conversations in class, based on assignments given, very rare mastery of skills, and in the assessment, process are boxed according to the highest and lowest ratings. This conventional education system makes school a mandatory task and students must find ways to overcome it. The understanding of students' concepts is very lacking, especially the specter of mathematics which is seen as a difficult and long calculation. Progressive education is here to replace the current conventional education system and the use of scientific calculator digital technology media greatly facilitates students in understanding mathematical concepts which will be achieved from the indicators of concept understanding as follows: 1) restating the concepts that have been studied, (2) classifying objects -objects to achieve the formation of a concept, (3) identify the properties of a concept, (4) apply the concept logically, (5) provide correct and incorrect examples/contras of the concept being studied, (6) present the concept in the form of various kinds of mathematical representations such as tables, graphs, diagrams, pictures, sketches, or other mathematical models, (7) linking various concepts in mathematics and outside mathematics, (8) developing the requirements needed in understanding concepts.

Abstract

This research was conducted to see whether the Peer Teaching method was effective in learning mathematics in class IX at SMP Negeri 4 Tarakan. This study uses a posttest-only control design with a quasi research type. The research was conducted at Tarakan 4 Public Middle School and the research population was class IX for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sampling method is Simple Random Sampling, with class IX-8 as the control class and class IX-10 as the experimental class. Data collection with description test instruments and documentation. The analysis technique uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Descriptive analysis namely standard deviation and average. Then test the hypothesis using the independent sample t-test (t test). The research results obtained 4.140 > 1.672, so H0 was rejected, namely the peer teaching method was effective for class IX student learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 4 Tarakan. Abstract

The independent learning curriculum requires effective and innovative teaching materials. One of them is a module. This research aim to (1) analyze the need for mathematics textbooks that can improve students' problem-solving abilities according to the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model; (2) identify learning problems faced by students and analyze the suitability of textbooks with the syllabus. This research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were mathematics teachers and tenth-grade students of vocational high school. Data regarding learning resources were collected by interviewing mathematics teachers. Data regarding students' problem-solving abilities were collected by observing grade 10th students. Data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The result shows that: (1) the textbooks used are not in accordance with core competencies, basic competencies, competency achievement indicators, and the questions that are considered difficult by students; (2) there is no learning model applied in textbooks. So that textbooks are needed in the form of modules that can improve students problem solving with the PjBL model; teachers and students stated that they needed textbooks in the form of math modules that could be understood, and motivated in learning, there were many models of real questions so that students agreed and supported the creation and development of math modules to improve problem-solving abilities.
