Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of students’ open-ended problem-solving skills in solving math problems based on Polya’s steps on the material of quadrilaterals and triangles for class VII SMPN 1 Gunungsari in the 2021/2022 school year. The type of research used in descriptive research. The research subjects were 20 students who were selected with a sampling technique using a promotional start. The data collection techniques use tests and interviews. The results of the study were students with high abilities were able to fulfill every step Polya, students with moderate abilities had not been able to fulfill the fourth stage, namely reviewing the results that had been obtained, and students with low abilities had not been able to carry out the three stages of problem-solving, namely understanding the problem, thinking about plans. And looking back. Overall, the average ability of students in solving open-ended math problems based on Polya’s steps is in the medium category. The majority of students have not been able to write down what is known, what was asked and have not been able to re-examine the results obtained

Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of instructional development for space geometry lessons intended for educational institutions in elementary schools, especially grade 6 in Indonesia. The selected lesson covers the topic of the surface area of a triangular prism. Learning development is carried out by conducting a needs and learner analysis as well as a specific task analysis for the selected lesson. Performance objectives and learning outcomes are discussed in detail and their alignment with each other and the overall instructional objectives.

Abstract

This study aims to give learning alternatives to underachiever students using CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) learning strategies to increase learning outcomes and understanding concepts on statistics topics. The development of this learning is done by analyzing the needs of the underachiever students. Performance objective and learning outcomes are adjusted to the instructional event. The results of this study indicate that CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) learning is recommended to help underachiever students in improving learning outcomes and understanding concepts on statistics topics.

Abstract

Transportation is basic human need in supporting various aspects of life, even almost all human activities require transportation. Arrangement of good traffic light are very needed at every intersection of the road. One of the very strategic intersection in Mataram city is Ampenan intersection. One of the factors that affect the accumulation of vehicle queues is less than optimal time when the green light is on at the traffic light. Therefore, it is necessary to study the optimal time of traffic lights based on amount of vehicles that passing and time of the green light is on. One of method to determine the optimal time of traffic light using Monte Carlo simulation method. Monte Carlo method is an algorithm for solving a problem to get better results using the probability distribution. Study uses the distribution of arrival and passing vehicles. Observation the time of arrival and passing vehicles is done in each direction of the traffic light. Results of this study indicate that the optimum time for the green light for the west direction are 21 seconds, for the east direction 21 seconds, for the north direction 36 seconds, and for the south direction 36 seconds.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the errors of the students of MTsN 2 Bima city in solving arithmetic story problems based on Newman's procedures for the 2021/2022 school year. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with written test and interview design. The population of this study were all eighth grade students of MTsN 2 Bima City for the Academic Year 2021/2022 which were distributed in eight classes. The sample class was selected for Class VII eight by giving written tests and interviews so that the criteria for students who obtained high, medium and low scores were obtained to analyze what students' mistakes were in solving the questions. As for the data collection techniques, namely observation and interviews. The analysis used is qualitative data where efforts are made by working with data, organizing data, sorting it into manageable units, synthesizing it, looking for and finding patterns, finding out what is important and what is learned, and deciding what can be done. told to others. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that students' errors in solving math story problems based on the Newman Procedure with the criteria of high-ability students, namely the highest percentage of errors were found in the error stage in writing the final answer with an error rate of 33% and the lowest error rate was at the stage of reading the problem, transformation and process skills with an error rate of 0%, then for moderately capable students, the highest percentage of errors is at the stage of understanding the problem with an error rate of 58% and for the lowest error rate there is at the stage of reading problems, transformation problems and process skills with an error rate of 0%, Finally, for low-ability students, the highest percentage of errors is at the stage of understanding the problem, while the lowest error is at the stage of reading the problem with an error rate of 0%. This shows that we can see the results of the analysis of student errors in solving math story problems on social arithmetic material based on the Newman Procedure Class VII MTsN 2 Bima City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems in mathematics in class VIII of SMP Negeri 14 Mataram in the 2021/2022 academic year. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative. All students of class VIII are the population, where as many as 32 students were selected using cluster random sampling rules. Data collection uses essay tests to obtain data on critical thinking skills, while interviews are to dig deeper information related to students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained: (1) The students' critical thinking ability in solving story problems in mathematics subjects in class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Mataram in the high category had a percentage of 4.76%. 2) Students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems in mathematics subjects in class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Mataram in the medium category have a percentage of 66.67% 3) Students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems in mathematics subjects in class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Mataram the low category has a percentage of 28.57%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills based on learning styles with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. This study was quantitative qualitative with descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of 8 students with each learning style at each level of critical thinking ability. Data collection in this study used tests to determine the level of students' critical thinking skills, questionnaires to determine student learning styles, and interviews. The test was carried out on the material of two-variable linear equations. The results of the tests and interviews were analyzed based on indicators of critical thinking skills: (1) interpretation, (2) analysis, (3) evaluation, (4) inference, and (5) explanation. The results showed that from 25 students there were 19 students in the category of high critical thinking skills with 6 visual, 5 auditory, and 8 kinesthetic students. 3 people with moderate critical thinking skills with 2 visual and 1 kinesthetic. 3 people with low critical thinking skills with 1 visual, 1 auditory, and 1 kinesthetic. Students with high category visual learning style can write interpretation, evaluation, inference, explanation, medium category can write interpretation, evaluation, inference, and low category can write interpretation. Students with a high category of auditory learning style can write inferences, low categories can write evaluations. Students with high category kinesthetic learning styles can write inference evaluations, medium and low categories can write evaluations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the cooperative learning model type two stay two stray on the learning outcomes of class VII students at MTs Hadil Ishlah Bilebante. This research was a quasi-experimental study with a post-test only non-equivalent research design group. The population in this study was the entire VII MTs Hadil Ishlah Bilebante for the 2021/2022 academic year. In determining the sample, saturated sampling technique was used, where the sample in this study was class VII Girls as a control class and class VII Boys as an experimental class. The instrument used in this study was a post-test on social arithmetic material. Quantitative data analysis was performed using the t-test. the results of data analysis tcount = 2,988 and ttable = 1,684 so that tcount> ttable then H0 was rejected which indicates that there were differences in student mathematics learning outcomes between classes that receive cooperative learning tiepe two stay two stray and direct learning. This shows that learning with the cooperative model of the type of two stay two stray has an effect on the learning outcomes of class VII students of MTs Hadil Ishlah Bilebante on social arithmetic material

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving ability of the flat-sided geometry based on the initial mathematical abilities of the IX grade students of SMPN 6 Mataram. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects of this study consisted of two students in the categories of high, medium, and low mathematics early abilities. Data collection techniques using test and interview methods. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed (1) 2 students with high early mathematical abilities were able to fulfill the three stages of Polya’s indicators, namely understanding the problem, planning problem solving and implementing problem solving plans. So students’ mathematical problem solving abilities are in a good category. (2) 2 students with moderate early mathematics abilities are only able to meet the indicators of understanding the problem. So that students’ mathematical problem solving abilities are in the less category. (3) 2 students with low early mathematics abilities are only able to fulfill the indicators of understanding the problem. So students’ mathematical problem solving abilities are in the very poor category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in learning achievement of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Mataram through online learning using the WhatsApp Group and Google Classroom applications for the 2020/2021 academic year. This research is an experimental study with a posttest-only non-equivalent group design used . Determination of the sample using probability sampling technique with the sample being class VIII 2 students receiving online learning using the WhatsApp Group application as an experimental class 1 and class VIII 3 students receiving online learning using the Google Classroom application as an experimental class 2. The instrument used in this study was an instrument The test is in the form of a post-test on the Pythagorean theorem and constructing flat-sided spaces. Data analysis was used using t-test. The results showed that there was no difference in learning achievement between students who received online learning using the Whatsapp Group and Google Classroom applications.
