Abstract

The lack of exclusive breastfeeding is generally due to insufficient milk production, leading to the cessation of exclusive breastfeeding practices. The main factor in the failure of exclusive breastfeeding is lactation mismanagement during the breastfeeding period. Adequate knowledge can increase working mothers' self-efficacy and help working mothers continue to breastfeed during the transition back to the workforce. This study aimed to see the relationship between knowledge about lactation management in working mothers with exclusive breastfeeding in the Working Area of Sidomulyo Health Center, Bengkulu City. The sample size was 58 respondents, who were given questionnaires using the Gutman scale. The results of statistical tests using chi-square with a p-value of 0.019 < < 0.05 and an Odds Ratio of 3,800 show there is a significant relationship between knowledge of lactation management in working mothers with exclusive breastfeeding. Working mothers are expected to increase their knowledge by attending breastfeeding classes or utilizing social media about lactation management to provide breast milk still while working.

Abstract

Adolescent nutrition issues are becoming an important issue in Indonesia, marked by the increasing prevalence of overnutrition and obesity due to unbalanced diets. Adolescent nutritional status is an important indicator in assessing the health and development of the younger generation. This study aims to determine the relationship between the frequency of fiber and fat consumption with the nutritional status of adolescents at SMA Negeri 4 Surakarta. This study used an observational design with a cross-sectional approach and involved 100 students in grades X and XI selected using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) questionnaire for fiber and fat intake and body mass index according to age (BMI/A) for nutritional status. The analysis used to determine the relationship between fiber and fat intake with nutritional status used the Pearson Product Moment test. The results showed that fiber consumption in adolescents with overnutrition status was 60% who consumed less fiber and obesity nutritional status who consumed less fiber was 33.3%. Fat consumption in adolescents with overnutrition status was 43.8% who consumed more fat and obesity nutritional status who consumed more fat was 31.2%. The nutritional status of adolescents consists of 8% undernutrition, 74% good nutrition, 10% overnutrition, and 8% obesity. Data analysis shows that there is a significant relationship between the frequency of fiber and fat consumption with nutritional status.

Abstract

In Indonesia, screening using the IVA technique is only performed by 6.83% of women aged 30-50 years. The coverage of cervical cancer screening in Indonesia is still below the target of 70% in 2023, which is only 7.02%. This study aims to compare the frequency of visits by women of childbearing age for IVA and sadanis examinations before and after the innovation of the IVA and sadanis examination movement at the mobile Posbindu. The sample for this innovation was 55 through simple random sampling. The results of data analysis using the t-test obtained sig = 0.000, this means it is smaller than α = 0.05. Thus, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. There is an increase in visits by women of childbearing age for IVA and sadanis examinations before and after the innovation of the IVA and sadanis examination movement at the mobile Posbindu.

Abstract

Puberty is a critical phase in a child’s development requiring physical, psychological, and social readiness. Mothers, as primary caregivers, play an important role in accompanying and providing education during this transition. Inaccurate perceptions by mothers may affect the quality of their supportive behavior. This study aims to examine the relationship between mothers’ perception and behavior in preparing children for puberty. This analytic observational study used a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 45 mothers with preadolescent children at MI Sunan Kalijaga Mergan, Malang City, selected by purposive sampling. Perception data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire (1–4), while behavior was measured through narrative observation sheets. Data were analyzed using Spearman’s correlation test. Results showed that most respondents had positive (55.6%) and moderate (37.8%) perception categories, and behaviors in moderate (62.2%) and good (31.1%) categories. Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between perception and behavior (p = 0.002; r = 0.455). The more positive the mother’s perception, the better the supportive behavior. These findings emphasize the importance of improving mothers’ perceptions through appropriate education to enhance supportive behavior during their children’s puberty transition.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a serious pregnancy complication that can cause maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality if not properly managed. The high maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR) highlight the importance of early detection through predictive biomarkers that can serve as both preventive and monitoring tools. This study aims to evaluate various recent biomarkers that have the potential to serve as alternative supports for the diagnosis and monitoring of preeclampsia. The method used was a literature review with the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria to obtain relevant articles. The review identified ten articles that met the criteria, reporting several biomarkers that are relatively easy to perform, including hematological parameters (platelets, PLR ratio, hematocrit), serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), urea, creatinine, 25-hydroxyvitamin D, soluble Suppression of Tumorigenicity 2 (sST2), and Placental Growth Factor (PlGF). These biomarkers have shown diagnostic potential, although most still require further research to confirm their validity and sensitivity. The conclusion of this study is that hematological, biochemical, and placental growth factors may serve as alternative supportive examinations to facilitate early detection and monitoring of preeclampsia in the future.
