Abstract

The rapid growth in AI has dramatically changed the way people learn the English language. The present study explores AI integration in the learning process from the perspectives of teachers and students. Qualitative library research was conducted by collecting data from peer-reviewed journals, books, and online scholarly sources on AI applications in education and language learning. Findings indicate that AI offers learners personalized, adaptive, and culturally appropriate learning experiences. Teachers perceive AI to enhance instructional effectiveness and curriculum management, including differentiated instruction; however, professional training, data privacy, and curriculum alignment are mentioned as challenges. Students indicated that AI increases motivation, engagement, and self-regulated learning through interactive exercises and immediate feedback, while usability and guidance are crucial for successful learning. The study concludes that effective AI integration must balance teacher readiness and student engagement along with user-friendly design and continuous evaluation. These insights can help develop effective AI driven English learning strategies.

The research method used a qualitative approach through direct observation, interviews with the marketing communications team, participation during internship activities, and literature studies related to marketing strategies, KOLs, and brand awareness. Based on the findings, the KOL utilization strategy was carried out through appropriate KOL selection, systematic brief preparation, coordination during the content production process, and evaluation of campaign performance based on indicators such as engagement and audience response. Supporting factors included strategic planning, maximum utilization of social media platforms, and good internal communication, while inhibiting factors included limited local KOLs, variations in content production capabilities, and technical constraints at outlets. Abstract

Writing accuracy is a vital component of academic communication, especially for students in non-English departments who are required to produce written texts in English despite limited linguistic training. This study investigates sentence structure and punctuation errors in the writing of non-English Department students at Sriwijaya University, identifies the causes of these errors, and suggests possible remedies to improve students’ writing competence. Using a qualitative descriptive research design, the study analyzed narrative and descriptive essays written by 20 undergraduate students from four non-English study programs in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The analysis was conducted using Corder’s (1974) Error Analysis framework, which classifies errors into omission, misformation, misordering, and addition. To enrich the findings, semi-structured interviews were also carried out with selected students to explore their writing experiences, perceived difficulties, and strategies for dealing with writing problems. The findings show that sentence structure errors occurred more frequently than punctuation errors. Misformation errors were the most dominant type of sentence structure errors, particularly involving incorrect verb forms, tense misuse, and subject–verb disagreement, followed by omission errors such as missing subjects or auxiliary verbs. Punctuation errors mainly included the omission of periods at the end of sentences, misuse of commas, capitalization errors, and incorrect use of apostrophes. Interview data revealed that limited grammar mastery, first language interference, insufficient writing practice and feedback, and psychological factors such as low confidence and time pressure were the main causes of these errors. Overall, the study concludes that sentence structure and punctuation errors among non-English Department students are influenced by a combination of linguistic, instructional, and psychological factors, highlighting the need for grammar-integrated writing instruction, focused feedback, and continuous writing support to enhance students’ academic writing accuracy and clarity.

Abstract

This research explores the role of logic in the understanding of truth in educational settings, using a hermeneutical-philosophical approach. Logic, as a rational thinking tool, serves to develop students' critical and analytical thinking abilities, while science, through empirical methods, provides an evidence-based framework that supports the understanding of truth. However, the application of logic is often limited to theoretical aspects without a practical context, and science education tends to emphasise memorisation over process exploration. This paper proposes the integration of logic and science through an integrated curriculum, project-based approaches and the use of technology to create a holistic education that supports students' character and critical reasoning. This integration creates harmony between rationality and local values, relevant for 21st century education that respects cultural diversity. This research highlights the challenges of creating an inclusive yet value-based education and offers practical recommendations to improve the relevance of logic in learning.

Abstract

This study employed a quantitative correlational research design to explore the relationship between speaking proficiency and perceived academic stress among sixth-semester students of the English Education Study Program at UIN Raden Fatah University. The data were collected from 48 participants using the ETS Integrated Speaking Rubric to assess speaking proficiency and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS10) to measure perceived academic stress. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed that most students experienced a moderate level of academic stress, while the majority of speaking mastery scores were classified in the “Good” category. Furthermore, Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis indicated that there was no statistically significant relationship between students’ perceived academic stress and their speaking proficiency. These findings suggest that speaking performance may not be directly influenced by general academic stress but is more closely related to factors such as speaking-specific anxiety, self-confidence, and language learning experience. Therefore, this study recommends that educators place greater emphasis on reducing language-specific anxiety rather than general academic stress to improve students’ speaking proficiency.

Abstract

Azyumardi Azra’s thought on the dialectic between tradition and modernity provides a strategic framework for understanding Islamic social reform in the Malay cultural context. He emphasizes that Islam can remain socially relevant only by preserving valuable local traditions while engaging critically with modern challenges. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Azra’s ideas in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMA Negeri 3 Palembang and to examine their implications for learning practices and school culture. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of curriculum and learning documents. The findings indicate that Azra’s thought is implemented through three main strategies. First, Malay Islamic traditions are integrated into learning as a foundation for students’ religious and cultural identity. Second, modern competencies are strengthened through the development of critical thinking, openness to diverse perspectives, and digital literacy in responding to contemporary issues. Third, pedagogical practices are transformed into dialogical learning processes that connect religious texts with students’ social realities. Overall, this study demonstrates that PAI functions not merely as doctrinal instruction, but as an effective medium of Islamic social reform that promotes religious moderation, cultural rootedness, and adaptive engagement with modernity.
