Abstract

Problem solving ability is one of the mathematical abilities that need to be mastered by students to equip students in logical, analytical, systematic thinking and the ability to work well together. In addition, this problem solving ability is very important for students to train students in solving problems in everyday life. This study aims to analyze student errors in solving mathematical problem solving problems based on Newman's theory. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were students of class VII-A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Menggala. Data collection used in the form of tests, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the most mistakes made by students were in writing the final answer, which was caused because students did not understand the commands in the questions well. The second most common error is the transformation error caused because students do not have the skills to change the language of the problem into a mathematical model. The third error, namely misunderstanding the problem caused by students not being careful in writing down the information in the problem, and not getting used to writing down the information in the problem when solving math problems. The fourth error, namely the error of process skills caused by students not being careful in carrying out the calculation process

Abstract

In the learning process not every student succeeds through the learning process done in other words not every student can achieve the learning objectives as expected. This is due to abstract mathematical concepts. Many factors influence it, including intelligence, learning readiness, interests, motivation, teacher abilities, maturity, family, school and community. The purpose of this study is to know the meaningful influence of learning on students' math learning outcomes. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods. The population in this study is all grade VII students of SMPN 1 Katibung Lampung Selatan. The results of the hypothesis test using the t-test showed the influence of meaningful learning application on improving the results of mathematics learning students of grade VII SMPN 1 Katibung south lampung. Students who apply meaningful learning have a higher average math learning outcome than the average student learning outcomes that do not apply meaningful learning. Thus, the application of meaningful learning can improve students' math learning outcomes.

Abstract

Mentally retarded children or also called children with intellectual disability are children with below average intelligence who experience obstacles in adaptive behavior in the form of taking care of themselves and carrying out activities of daily living. Children with intellectual disability need special education and services to help them achieve optimal development. Children with mild intellectual disability require three basic skills, such as reading, speaking and arithmetic. The implementation of learning in the classroom, especially in learning mathematics requires learning modifications, so that they are in accordance with the individual conditions of intellectual disability students. Intellectual disability students have obstacles to think about something abstract, so in the preparation of learning programs the teacher is expected to; (1) understanding the characteristics of mild intellectual disability students, (2) conducting assessments, (3) being creative in modifying learning methods.

Abstract

In the learning process, not every student succeeds through the learning process carried out, in other words, not every student can achieve the learning objectives as expected, there are still many students who are less successful. In the process and learning outcomes can be successful or not influenced by many factors, including intelligence, readiness to learn, interest, motivation, teacher ability, maturity, family, school and community. Teaching aids in the teaching and learning process can generate desire and interest, generate motivation, stimulate learning activities and even psychological influence on students. The author in this study uses quantitative descriptive methods, data analysis using statistical formulas. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Perintis 1 Bandar Lampung which consisted of 9 classes with a total of 398 students, while the sample was taken 2 classes, namely X.2 as the experimental class and X.3 as the control class. . Test the hypothesis by using the statistical formula t-test. From the results of hypothesis testing using the statistical formula t-test, the value of t = 4.62 is obtained. From the t distribution table at the 5% significant level, it is known that t = t = 1.993 and t = 1.67, while at the 1% significant level it is known that t = t = 2.65 and t = 2.39, this means t > t. So with this it can be said that there is an effect of the use of teaching aids on the mathematics learning outcomes of X SMA Perintis 1 Bandar Lampung students and the average mathematics learning outcomes of students who use teaching aids are higher than the average learning outcomes of students who do not use teaching aids. Thus, it can be said that the use of teaching aids is positive or can improve mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills that need to be developed through learning so that students are able to communicate ideas, thoughts, or opinions in learning mathematics. considering the importance of mathematical communication skills, a teacher should be able to build students' mathematical communication skills. Through mathematical communication students can express their understanding both orally and in writing, while students who have low learning abilities will find it difficult to achieve good learning outcomes. This study aims to: (1) determine the percentage of students' abilities in solving geometrical problems, (2) find out the causes of students' difficulties in solving geometrical problems, (3) find out how to overcome students' difficulties in solving spatial problems. . In this research, the method used is descriptive qualitative method. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung with a total of 187 students and took 30 students as research samples. Based on the results of the study, it can be obtained: (1) students who are able to solve geometrical problems are 62.99% and those who have difficulty are 37.01%, (2) the causes of students experiencing difficulties in solving spatial problems are: students do not understand the concept of space in applying to a question, students are not careful in working on every question that exists, (3) how to overcome student difficulties, namely: increasing students' ability to understand the concept of building space by giving emphasis when delivering material, doing more in the form of evaluation exercises. exercises at the end of each learning activity, and giving homework to finalize the material that has been delivered and shows that the indicators of mathematical communication are writing (writing), drawing (drawing), mathematical expressions (expression mathematic). The indicator with the highest percentage is writing (writing) and the indicator with the lowest percentage is mathematical expression (mathematical expression) this is because students have difficulty expressing mathematics in the form of symbols.
