Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed marketing strategies and consumer purchasing behavior, particularly through social commerce platforms such as TikTok Shop. This study aims to examine the effect of promotion and the effectiveness of cashless transactions on the increase in consumer purchases of KFC in Jakarta through TikTok Shop. This research employs a quantitative approach using a causal associative method. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents who are KFC consumers in North Jakarta and have made purchases via TikTok Shop. The sampling technique applied was purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression analysis and partial hypothesis testing (t-test) with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that promotion has a positive and significant effect on increasing consumer purchases of KFC through TikTok Shop. Furthermore, the effectiveness of cashless transactions also has a positive and significant influence on the increase in consumer purchases. These findings suggest that promotional strategies in the form of discount vouchers delivered through interactive TikTok Shop content, combined with fast, secure, and convenient cashless payment systems, are effective in stimulating consumer purchase intention and purchase frequency. This study is expected to contribute to the development of digital marketing management literature and provide practical insights for companies in designing more effective promotional strategies and digital payment systems.

Abstract

This paper aims to trace and understand the traces of the spatial experience of Sasak women in the nensek tradition in the hamlet of Keloke Aik Atas, Batujai Village, Praya Barat District, Central Lombok Regency. Through a phenomenological approach, it is hoped that it will be able to answer questions about (1). What is the form and meaning of the traces of the presence of Sasak women's space in the nensek tradition, (2). How is the process of the formation of Sasak women's space in the nensek tradition, (3). What factors influence the survival of Sasak women's space in the nensek tradition until now, and (4). How is the phenomenological experience of Sasak women tracing, experiencing and interpreting women's space in the nensek tradition. Data to explain this was obtained through field observations and interviews. The findings obtained from the traces of the presence of Sasak women's space in the nensek tradition are not only a weaving space but also a meeting space for them with their ancestors in the past so that Sasak women become cultural heirs in the nensek tradition inherited from their own ancestors. In addition, the presence of women's space is due to the nensek tradition itself as the "pengadek-ngadek" of ancestors whose existence must be maintained so that women's space in the nensek tradition becomes a cultural mandate for Sasak women in Keloke Aik Atas. Women's space in the nensek tradition that is formed can be seen in public zones both inside and outside the residence by following the direction of the residence facing West and East on a micro, meso and macro scale. Meanwhile, the main factor that causes the Sasak women's space in the nensek tradition to survive is the existence of high-value sesekan cloth which serves as a medium for connecting the energy of their ancestors in the past, resulting in them continuing to feel connected by carrying out the nensek tradition. The religious values contained in the nensek tradition will oversee the growth and survival of Sasak women's space in the nensek tradition. The most important thing for them is the women's space in the nensek tradition as their spiritual expression towards God, namely Allah Ta'ala. They believe that nensek activities are a means of their worship to Allah Ta'ala. These findings show that Sasak women are able to appreciate the women's space in the nensek tradition as a space for self-existence as well as a mirror of themselves so that they can see a picture of their lives both in the past, present and future so that the Sasak women's space in the nensek tradition is not only a physical space but a living space and is animated by the experiences of the space's inhabitants themselves.

Abstract

Bali has emerged as a leading global destination for spiritual and wellness tourism, attracting Western travelers in search of personal transformation and inner healing. Among its distinctive cultural practices is the Balinese purification ritual, known as melukat, which employs sacred water as a medium for spiritual cleansing. This study explores the interaction between Western tourists and Balinese spiritual practices, with a particular focus on how melukat is experienced and interpreted within a cross-cultural context. A qualitative research design was adopted, utilizing in-depth interviews and participant observation conducted at selected sacred sites and wellness centers across Bali. The collected data were analyzed thematically to identify key patterns related to tourists’ motivations and processes of meaning-making. The findings reveal four primary motivations driving participation: (1) the desire to escape the pressures of modern life, (2) the search for authentic spiritual experiences, (3) the pursuit of holistic healing, and (4) a fascination with the perceived harmony of Balinese culture. At the same time, the study indicates that many participants reinterpret melukat through individualistic and psychological frameworks, often distancing the practice from its original religious and cosmological significance. Rather than representing a straightforward process of commodification, these interactions reflect a dynamic process of cultural adaptation and transformation. In this process, local communities actively engage with tourism while striving to preserve the core values of their spiritual traditions. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on spiritual tourism by offering a cross-cultural perspective on the reinterpretation of sacred rituals within global tourism contexts. It also underscores the importance of balancing tourism development with cultural preservation to ensure the long-term sustainability and authenticity of Bali’s cultural heritage.

Abstract

Digital capabilities have now become a crucial prerequisite for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to survive and grow in the technology-driven global competition. This research aims to analyze the forms of digital capabilities possessed by AK Wear, a children's fashion MSME, and examine how these capabilities contribute to internationalization and export readiness. Additionally, this research identifies the challenges and opportunities in building digital capabilities toward the global market. The method used is a qualitative approach with a single case study design on AK Wear, where data was collected thru in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. The research findings indicate that AK Wear has built a digital foundation thru intensive live selling practices, affiliate programs, and a presence on various platforms such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, and Instagram. However, there are significant obstacles such as low digital literacy among human resources, limitations in inventory management systems, and a strong dependence on platform algorithms. As a solution, this research proposes a phased strategic plan that includes internal strengthening in the short term, omnichannel integration in the medium term, and acceleration of exports and global brand strengthening in the long term. The results of this study provide practical implications for fashion SMEs in consolidating systems and digital competencies to achieve sustainable internationalization.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a developing country with several carbon-intensive industries such as mining, energy, and manufacturing, faces significant challenges in achieving a sustainable green economy. In response to increasing environmental concerns, companies are encouraged to implement green accounting practices and disclose carbon emissions as part of their sustainability commitments. However, the effectiveness of these practices in enhancing firm value may depend on the quality of corporate governance. This study aims to examine the effect of green accounting and carbon emission disclosure on firm value, with Good Corporate Governance (GCG) serving as a moderating variable. The study uses mining companies participating in the Corporate Performance Rating Assessment Program (PROPER) issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry during the 2020–2023 period. Data were analyzed using multiple regression and moderated regression analysis. The results indicate that green accounting and carbon emission disclosure do not individually affect firm value significantly. However, both variables simultaneously have a positive effect on firm value. Furthermore, Good Corporate Governance significantly moderates the relationship between green accounting and firm value, but does not moderate the relationship between carbon emission disclosure and firm value. These findings suggest that the integration of sustainability practices and strong governance mechanisms can enhance investor confidence and support long-term firm value.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of gold return in Indonesia using the static approach of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and the dynamic approach of Vector Autoregression (VAR) equipped with the Impulse Response Function (IRF). The research variables include inflation (INF), USD/IDR (KURS), world oil prices (OIL), capital market performance proxied by JCI (CMP), and world gold prices (XAUUSD). The data used is in the form of monthly data for the period January 2009-December 2025. Domestic gold returns are measured using Antam gold. The findings show the difference in results between static and dynamic models. In the OLS model, inflation has a significant negative effect on gold returns at a significance level of 10%, while other variables are insignificant. In the VAR model with an optimal lag of 2, the exchange rate has a significant positive effect on lag-2 and oil prices have a significant positive effect on lag-1 on gold returns. IRF analysis shows that capital market performance shocks produce strong but relatively brief negative responses, while exchange rate shocks and XAUUSD produce more persistent positive responses. Inflation shows the relatively longest duration of the response before returning to the initial condition. These results indicate a time-lagged transmission and a response mechanism that is not entirely in line with the view of contemporary direct relationships. The implications of the study confirm the importance of considering market dynamics and transmission channels when evaluating gold as a safe haven and inflation hedge

Abstract

Digital transformation has driven a paradigm shift in the tourism industry towards a knowledge-based economy that places knowledge, competence, and innovation as the main source of value creation. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital transformation on the realization of a knowledge-based economy through the role of human capital, digital competence, knowledge management, and dynamic capabilities in the Bali tourism industry. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design on 240 respondents from various subsectors of the tourism industry in Bali. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results of the study show that digital transformation has a positive effect on strengthening human capital, which further improves digital competence, strengthens knowledge management, builds dynamic capabilities, and ultimately encourages the realization of a knowledge-based economy. This research confirms that the success of digital transformation is not only determined by technology adoption, but also by the ability of organizations to develop competencies, manage knowledge, and build adaptive capabilities as a source of sustainable competitive advantage. These findings provide a theoretical contribution through the development of an integrative model that connects digital transformation, human capital, digital competence, knowledge management, dynamic capabilities, and knowledge-based economy in the context of the tourism industry
