Abstract

This paper focuses on the occurrence of low back pain due to prolonged sitting in a chair. This paper is designed descriptively. Data is then collected from various ergonomics experts and research, and the analysis also uses descriptive methods. In conclusion, an ergonomic chair must have a backrest, a chair that can be adjusted up and down, have five wheelchair legs, a chair with stable armrests or elbow rests, a chair with a stable footrest, and a rest after sitting for 30 to 60 minutes. The chair must be able to be used loosely or freely. Using an ergonomic chair will prevent low back pain. It is recommended that factories that employ workers or whose work involves sitting in chairs use ergonomic chairs to avoid low back pain.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of responsible leadership, organizational culture, and workload on employee performance, with intrinsic motivation serving as a mediating variable. The research was conducted at PT Yodya Karya (Persero), a state-owned enterprise operating in the construction consulting sector, using a census (saturated) sampling method that produced 250 valid responses. Employing a quantitative, cross-sectional design, data were collected through validated questionnaires and analyzed with Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate that responsible leadership, organizational culture, and workload have positive and significant effects on intrinsic motivation, while these variables—together with intrinsic motivation—positively and significantly influence employee performance. Furthermore, intrinsic motivation significantly mediates the relationships between responsible leadership, organizational culture, and workload, and employee performance. These results provide empirical evidence that strengthening responsible leadership practices, fostering a supportive organizational culture, and maintaining proportional workload are critical strategies for sustaining intrinsic motivation and enhancing employee performance in state-owned construction consulting enterprises.

Abstract

The National Democratic Party (NasDem) emerged by promoting the “Restoration of Indonesia” movement, an idea intended to revive the spirit of nationalism as envisioned in the 1945 Proclamation of Independence. The slogan “Restoration of Indonesia” distinguishes NasDem from other political parties; however, more than a decade later, tangible improvements in national and political conditions remain limited. The restoration concept has not been fully institutionalized within the party’s internal structure, creating a gap between political discourse and practical implementation. This study examines how NasDem’s symbolic cues communicate the idea of restoration, the fantasy themes that emerge in this communication, and how symbolic convergence occurs between party elites and constituents. It also analyzes the extent to which a communication model based on symbolic convergence and fantasy themes strengthens party brand identity. Grounded in Symbolic Convergence Theory (SCT) and Fantasy Theme Analysis (FTA) developed by Ernest G. Bormann, and reinforced by Kevin Lane Keller’s branding theory, this research adopts a post-positivist paradigm with a qualitative explanatory approach. Data were collected through online literature review, observation, expert interviews, and focus group discussions. The findings show that fantasy themes and symbolic cues are strategically used to communicate the “Restoration of Indonesia” narrative. Symbolic convergence occurs through restorative communication mechanisms aimed at building shared understanding between party elites and constituents. This communication model contributes significantly to strengthening brand identity. However, the study also reveals that inconsistencies between fantasy narratives and internal political practices may undermine the credibility and sustainability of the party’s brand identity

Abstract

Adolescents’ quality of life is an important indicator of overall health status, encompassing physical, psychological, social, and environmental dimensions. Physical activity and nutritional status are commonly associated with adolescent health; however, their relationship with quality of life remains inconsistent across studies. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between physical activity and nutritional status and adolescents’ quality of life in Bolaang Mongondow Regency. This study employed an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted among junior and senior high school adolescents in Bolaang Mongondow Regency in October 2023. A total of 406 adolescents were selected using cluster random sampling. Physical activity was assessed using the Global School-based Health Survey (GSHS) questionnaire, nutritional status was determined using Body Mass Index-for-Age (BMI-for-age), and quality of life was measured using the WHOQOL-BREF instrument. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-square test at a 95% confidence level. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between physical activity and adolescents’ quality of life across all quality of life domains (p > 0.05). Similarly, nutritional status was not significantly associated with adolescents’ quality of life (p > 0.05). These findings indicate that variations in physical activity levels and nutritional status do not necessarily influence adolescents’ perceived quality of life. In conclusion, physical activity and nutritional status are not significantly associated with adolescents’ quality of lifein Bolaang Mongondow Regency. Adolescents’ quality of life may be more strongly influenced by psychosocial and environmental factors that were not examined in this study. Future research is recommended to incorporate these factors to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of adolescents’ quality of life.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze differences in employee performance The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to learning processes in higher education, particularly within distance education systems. Although digital-based learning facilitates easier access to information, online learning practices often remain one-directional and provide limited opportunities for dialogue between lecturers and students. This study aims to analyze the role of the digital storytelling method in fostering dialogic communication in Public Relations learning within a distance education system. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations of the learning process, and document analysis of students’ digital storytelling projects. The findings indicate that the implementation of digital storytelling enhances student engagement in the learning process, encourages reflective dialogue between lecturers and students, and develops students’ creative communication skills. This method also provides opportunities for students to express their experiences and critical perspectives through digital narratives. The findings suggest that digital storytelling can serve as an effective pedagogical strategy in fostering dialogic communication in distance learning within the field of Public Relations. Therefore, the integration of digital storytelling methods into digital learning environments can support the creation of a more participatory, reflective, and meaningful educational process.

Abstract

This study objective is to develop parenting style measurement for university students based on Baumrind’s Parenting Style theory. This was a multidimensional measurement from two parenting style dimensions, demandingness and responsiveness. 59 initial items were developed and 46 final items were selected for the study. Data were collected using convenience sampling from 169 active university students across 84 universities in 16 provinces in Indonesia. Psychometric properties analysis that were used include item-rest correlation, alpha cronbach for reliability analysis, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The results of the item-rest correlation analysis showed that the demandingness dimension had correlation values ranging from 0,305 to 0,540 with an average of 0,431. The responsiveness dimension showed item-rest correlation values ranging from 0,412 to 0,792 with an average of 0,686. Reliability analysis used alpha cronbach for demandingness (ɑ=0,838) and responsiveness (ɑ=0,95) proved good reliability. Confirmatory Factor Analysis also showed that the two dimensions have a really good validity score and showed a good fit (CFI and TLI above 0,90; RMSEA and SRMR below 0.80). In conclusion, this measurement has adequate psychometric quality and is suitable for use in assessing the university student’s parenting style
LEGAL REVIEW OF THE DIVISION OF JOINT PROPERTY IN MARRIAGE BASED ON THE PERSPECTIVE OF CIVIL LAW Novi Juli Rosani Zulkarnain

Abstract

This study examines the legal review of the division of marital property from a civil law perspective. The main focus of this study is to analyze how the concept of marital property is understood and applied in legal practice in Indonesia, and how the balance between legal certainty and substantive justice is realized in the resolution of marital property disputes. The method used in this study is normative juridical with a statutory, conceptual, and case study approach to court decisions related to joint property. The results of the study indicate that the regulation of joint property in marriage cannot be separated from the construction of marriage law, which places husband and wife in equal positions as legal subjects. The concept of joint property in the Indonesian legal system is also pluralistic due to the influence of customary law, Islamic law, and Western civil law, but there is a common ground in the recognition of joint contributions in the formation of assets during marriage. Furthermore, it was found that the division of joint property in judicial practice is not always carried out equally, but rather takes into account the actual contributions of each party, both economic and non-economic. This study also found inconsistencies in decisions in joint property cases due to the lack of standard provisions that regulate in detail the proportion of distribution based on the parties' contributions. This situation creates potential legal uncertainty, while also providing judges with discretion to apply substantive justice based on the facts of the trial. Therefore, harmonization and more operational guidelines are needed for the division of joint assets to ensure consistent court decisions. The conclusion of this study is that the division of joint assets, from a civil law perspective, is the result of the interaction between legal norms, judicial practices, and social dynamics. Therefore, a balance between legal certainty and substantive justice is necessary so that the family law system in Indonesia can provide fair, consistent, and responsive protection to societal developments.

Abstract

Mental disorders, including stress, anxiety, depression, cognitive impairment, and insomnia, are highly prevalent among the elderly, affecting approximately 15% of this population. In rapidly urbanizing areas such as Nusa Penida Island, Bali, substantial transitions from agricultural communities to major tourist destinations have occurred, attracting both domestic and international visitors. These transitions may adversely affect the mental health of elderly through cultural changes, lifestyle modifications, shifts in family structures, increased population density, and frequent interactions with tourism stakeholders and tourists. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and characteristics of stress and mental disorders among the elderly population in Nusa Penida. Screening of 66 elderly individuals revealed that 63.6% experienced moderate stress, 62.1% had mild anxiety, 94.0% had mild to moderate depression, and 51.5% had moderate to severe cognitive impairment. Elder individuals with moderate stress were quite likely to experience severe anxiety, mild to moderate depression, and moderate cognitive impairment. The high prevalence of stress, anxiety, and other mental disorders among elderly individuals in newly developed tourist destinations indicates the urgent need for targeted interventions to improve their overall quality of life.

Abstract

This study examines the persistence and implications of offline travel within an increasingly digital tourism ecosystem dominated by online travel agencies, algorithmic recommendation systems, and mobile applications. It adopts a mixed-methods design involving semi-structured interviews with foreign tourists in Bali, an online survey, and secondary data from industry reports and destination case studies to explore social, economic, and psychological dimensions of analogue travel practices. Findings indicate that offline travel is sustained by quests for authenticity, deeper interpersonal interactions, and digital detox benefits, yet is constrained by convenience gaps, perceived inefficiency, and fear of missing out among younger, highly connected segments. Economically, offline channels continue to support micro, small, and medium enterprises, homestays, and local guides, particularly in rural and digitally excluded areas, but face intense price competition and visibility disadvantages relative to OTAs. Psychologically, offline travel enhances autonomy, self-efficacy, and attentional restoration, while simultaneously generating frustration for tourists accustomed to seamless digital services. The study contributes to tourism scholarship by clarifying the underexplored interplay between online and offline travel experiences and offers practical insights for policymakers and businesses seeking to design more balanced, human-centred tourism futures.

Abstract

This study examines the role of counter-narratives in the discourse of power during the 2024 Banten gubernatorial election using a Foucauldian critical perspective. For nearly two decades, political power in Banten was dominated by a dynastic network associated with Ratu Atut Chosiyah. However, the 2024 election marked a significant shift as the dynastic candidate was defeated by the Andra Soni–Ahmad Dimyati Natakusumah pair. This research aims to analyze how power discourse was constructed, how epistemic shifts occurred among the electorate, and how regimes of truth were produced through political communication. Employing a qualitative constructivist-critical approach, the study utilizes discourse analysis of campaign narratives, media content, and socio-political contexts. The findings reveal that the anti-corruption counter-narrative functioned as a strategic discursive formation that reconfigured public knowledge and delegitimized the dominant dynastic narrative. Social media amplification and the absence of explicit anti-corruption positioning from the dynastic camp strengthened this transformation. In Foucauldian terms, power operated as a strategy embedded in knowledge production, enabling voters to exercise agency through new regimes of truth at the polling booth. This study contributes theoretically by demonstrating the effectiveness of counter-narrative communication in disrupting entrenched political dynasties within democratic contexts and offers a model of discursive political communication for electoral transformation.
