Occupational Health Nursing Focusing on the basic concepts of health and community nursing, health programs / government policies in addressing priority health problems in Indonesia, community nursing care and issues related to issues and trends in community health problems in the context of major health services with an emphasis on improving health, preventing disease and health care. Maternity Nursing Focusing on understanding the concepts and theories of maternity nursing and government policies in improving the health of women of childbearing age, pregnant women, mothers of birth, mothers after childbirth, and their babies up to 40 days in normal conditions their families. Pediatric Nursing Focusing on optimizing child growth through a comprehensive approach to solving biopsychosocial problems in a healthy range of illnesses and acute, chronic and life threatening conditions. Nursing Education Nursing education includes instruction in topic areas. These are nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, and nursing care planning. In the United States, nursing students learn through traditional classroom and lab instruction. Nursing education also involves clinical rotations and simulation, throughout their schooling, to develop care planning and clinical reasoning. Abstract

Introduction: Exclusive breastfeeding is essential in fulfilling children's nutritional status. Exclusive breastfeeding is closely related to the mother's knowledge about breastfeeding. Thus, it is necessary to identify the level of understanding of mothers about exclusive breastfeeding. This study aimed to describe the knowledge of mothers who breastfeed exclusively at Sukomulyo community health centre, Gresik. Methods: This study used a retrospective descriptive research design. This study's population were mothers with babies aged >6 to 12 months at the Sukomulyo community health centre. The sample in this study was 35 samples obtained through the purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by filling out questionnaires and analyzed using a frequency distribution table. Results: Mothers who gave exclusive breastfeeding found that the majority of mothers aged 20-35 years were 26 people (74.29%), the education level of mothers who graduated from high school was 18 people (51.43%), and mothers worked as housewives as many as 25 people (71.43%). Most of the mothers had a good level of knowledge, as many as 27 people (77%) and only one mother with less knowledge. Mothers with good knowledge mainly were owned by mothers aged 20-35, as many as 21 people (77.78%), mothers with a college education last as many as 15 people (55.56%), and housewives as many as 21 people (77.78%). Conclusions: Mothers aged 20-35 years with a university education background and housewives tend to breastfeed exclusively.

Abstract

Introduction: The study is based on a lack of children's language skills to repeat the contents of the previous story”evidence of the speaking ability of most children not being good enough. An easy-to-use verbal skill stimulation tool is the finger puppet. Stimulation finger puppet effective with storytelling method. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of finger puppet stimulation on the language development of preschool children. Methods: This study used to pretest and posttest control group design. The sampling technique was simple random sampling, with a sample of 66 respondents (33 intervention, 33 control). The research instrument by observation used a checklist. The bivariate analysis uses the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests with a significance level α<0,05. Results: The Wilcoxon test showed finger puppet stimulation effectively improved children's language development in the intervention group (p=0,000). The Mann-Whitney test shows a difference between children's language development in the intervention group and the control group (p=0,000). Conclusions: The development of children's language will be better stimulation often because, with simulation, children will record the language known and practice when communicating with other people.

Abstract

Introduction: Hand washing is one of the current clean and healthy living behaviours that is a world concern. The problem of bad-hand washing behaviour not only occurs in developing countries but also in developed countries where most people still forget the importance of washing hands. The prevalence of diarrhoea among children aged 5-14 years reaches 182.338 (6.2%). The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between hand-washing behaviour and cases of diarrhoea in school-age children at Angkasa 2 Elementary School. Methods: This research method is quantitative, with a descriptive correlation research design, and uses a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 63 respondents taken by purposive sampling. Data collection used questionnaires and observation sheets, analyzing data using a Chi-square test. Results: 73.01% of respondents had good hand-washing behaviour, while 26.98% had less hand-washing behaviour. Then, the respondents with good diarrhoea cases were 69.84%, and those with fewer diarrhoea cases were 30.15%. The statistical test showed a relationship between the variables of hand-washing behaviour with cases of diarrhoea (p =<0.001). Conclusions: There is a relationship between hand-washing behaviour and cases of diarrhoea in school-age children at Angkasa 2 elementary school. Hand washing is the most important basic technique in preventing and controlling the transmission of diarrheal diseases. It is necessary to have good facilities and knowledge about hand-washing, and the delivery of messages must be done recur so that understanding can align with these behavioural practices.

Abstract

Introduction: Non-adherence to self-care is often found in diabetes mellitus (DM) patients. Non-compliance in DM patients in performing self-care can affect the quality of life of patients. This study aimed to explain the relationship between self-care management and the quality of life of DM patients. Methods: This research design was analytically observational with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was 80 respondents of DM patients treated at RSUD Ibnu Sina Gresik with a purposive sampling technique. They collected data using a questionnaire and statistical test of this study using the Spearman test. Results: The results are that the majority of self-care management is sufficient (67.5%) for as many as 54 people and good quality of life (86.2%) for as many as 69 people. The results of the correlation test using the spearman test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p-value <0.05), and the correlation coefficient value is positive (r=0.479), which means that there is a significant relationship between self-care management and the quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus in RSUD Ibnu Sina Gresik. Conclusions: Improved self-care management is associated with improving the quality of life of patients with diabetes mellitus in RSUD Ibnu Sina Gresik.

Abstract

Introduction: The increase in the number of Tuberculosis sufferers is caused by various factors, namely the lack of patient compliance for treatment and taking medication, expensive drug prices, the emergence of multiple resistances, lack of host resistance to mycobacteria and reduced bactericidal power of existing drugs. It also has other negative impacts, socially stigmatized and ostracized by the community. Methods: This research is quantitative type. The design of this research is design used in this research, which is a cross-sectional design with observation or data collection at once (point time approach). The sample in this study was 20 people. The sampling technique used in this study was census sampling, this research data collection used a questionnaire measuring instrument, and the data analysis used the chi-square test. Results: the results of the analysis showed a significant degree of p < 0.000 by setting the degree of significance <0.005; thus, the conclusion is that there is a relationship between knowledge and adherence to drinking pulmonary tuberculosis in adolescents. Conclusions: there is a relationship between knowledge and adherence to drinking pulmonary tuberculosis in adolescents at the pediatric outpatients department at the District Hospital Subang.

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescence is marked by changes in growth and development that occur very rapidly. Adolescents will experience stages towards social and economic independence, identity building, acquisition of skills for adult life, and the ability to negotiate. Body shaming, weight shaming, or harassment based on appearance can be described as mocking or humiliating someone based on their physical appearance. The study aimed to determine the relationship between body shaming behaviour and the stress levels of the ninth graders at SMP N 4 Bojonegoro. Methods: The design of this research was a cross-sectional analysis. The population was 80 ninth graders obtained by using a purposive sampling technique. The students were experiencing body shaming. The research data were taken using the Body-Shaming questionnaire to measure body shaming behaviour and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) 42 questionnaire to measure stress levels. Results: The results showed that 9 out of 11 students (81.8%) who experienced severe body shaming behaviour had extreme stress levels, 37 out of 38 students (97.4%) students who participated in proper body shaming behaviour had moderate stress levels, 18 out of 31 students (58.1%) who experienced mild body shaming behaviour had mild stress levels. Based on the results of the data above, a statistical test was obtained with a significance value of p sign = 0.01 (p <0.05). Conclusions: It can be concluded that there is a relationship between body shaming behaviour and the stress levels of the ninth graders at SMP N 4 Bojonegoro.

Abstract

Introduction: The causes of Multidrug Resistance Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) are very diverse; MDR-TB treatment, which takes a long time of approximately 18-24 months, so it becomes a severe health problem because of its rapid and increasing transmission. The purpose of this study was to describe the causes of the incident in Ibnu Sina Hospital Gresik. Methods: The method used in this research is a descriptive research method with a total of 55 respondents. In this study, data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. Results: The most common cause of MDR-TB in Ibnu Sina Hospital Gresik was a history of previous TB treatment with the results of the study obtained from 55 respondents, as many as 30 people (54.5%), and 25 people who did not have a history of previous treatment (45, 5%). Conclusions: Based on the study's results, the most common cause of MDR-TB at Ibnu Sina Hospital Gresik was a history of previous TB treatment. The causes of the minor incidence of MDR-TB are low family support and the subordinate role of PMO. Another more dominant factor is a history of contact with MDR-TB patients and non-adherence to taking medication.

Abstract

Introduction: The occurrence of disasters in 2017-2021 reached 12,199 disasters consisting of floods, tornadoes, landslides, forest fires, earthquakes, abrasion, and volcanic eruptions. Many disasters have resulted in 4,851 deaths and 39,633 people missing and injured (BNPB, 2021). Methods: This research is a quantitative correlation study with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used in this study was total sampling, which consisted of 335 respondents from nursing students at STIKes Yatsi, Tangerang. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires. Data analysis using chi-square test. Results: The results showed that most female students had a good level of knowledge (55,2%) and preparedness (58,5%). The bivariate analysis results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and disaster preparedness r = 0.016 (r < 0.05). The study concluded that the better the student's knowledge, the better the disaster preparedness. Conclusions: The study found a relationship between knowledge and disaster preparedness in students.

Abstract

Introduction: Incomplete abortion is bleeding in pregnancy before 20 weeks, where some of the products of conception have come out of the uterine cavity through the cervical canal left in the decidua or placenta. Methods: This research uses a case study design. Data collection from assessment to nursing evaluation was carried out in the jasmine room of Dr Soegiri Lamongan Hospital in February 2019. Participant care at the hospital for three days”data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses narrative analysis based on the analysis of relevant facts and theories. Results: The assessment of the two participants was the first and second pregnancies, with gestational ages of 12 and 16 weeks, experiencing vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain. There is abdominal tenderness, a pain scale of 5, and uterine contractions on examination. The nursing diagnosis was acute pain associated with uterine contractions and fluid volume deficit related to bleeding (abortion). The evaluation was carried out for 72 hours of reduced pain. The discussion is expected that nurses provide health education about pain and incomplete abortion. Conclusions: The pain and anxiety were reduced after implementing nursing for 72 hours. The reference from this study is for nurses to provide health education related to pain in incomplete abortion.

Abstract

Introduction: Stroke can cause mild to severe disability, which is the main trigger for anxiety and other effects of stroke. The purpose of this study was to describe some things of the anxiety of stroke patients at RSUD Ibnu Sina Gresik. Methods: This study used a descriptive research design. The population were stroke patients at RSUD Ibnu Sina Gresik in March 2022. The sample in this study was 78 respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is a HARS scale questionnaire, analyzed by descriptive method and presented using a distributive table. Results: As many as 87.2% of respondents experienced anxiety. Most of the respondents had a mild level of anxiety (51.3%). It happened because most respondents were outpatients who had entered the recovery period. The most common cause of anxiety among respondents was illness (80.8%) and decreased work productivity (29.5%). The most efforts made by respondents to reduce anxiety were by worshipping and praying (64.1%) and telling stories to trusted people (62.8%). Nurses have an essential role in reducing the anxiety of stroke patients. Conclusions: Most stroke patients at RSUD Ibnu Sina Gresik experienced mild anxiety caused by illness and decreased work productivity. Most efforts are made to reduce anxiety, namely by worshipping and praying and telling stories to trusted people.
