Abstract

The problem in this study is based on field observations; the ability of West Sumatra Hockey athletes to take oxygen could be much higher. Internal factors and external factors of the athlete influence this. One of these internal factors is the physical condition related to the ability to take oxygen optimally. This study aims to determine the contribution of hemoglobin levels and vital lung capacity to the maximum oxygen uptake ability (VO2 max) of West Sumatran Hockey athletes. This research method is a quantitative method using a correlational research design. The population in this study is West Sumatran Hockey. In contrast, the sample in this study was taken using a total sampling technique, namely West Sumatran Hockey, who will participate in the 20222 National Championship, totaling 24 people. The instrument for collecting data for hemoglobin levels was a spectrophotometer and a rotary spirometer for vital lung capacity, while for VO2 max, an intermittent recovery test was used. The data was analyzed using correlation analysis techniques, simple regression, correlation, and multiple regression. The results of data analysis showed that: (1) Hemoglobin contributed to the VO2 max ability of West Sumatra Hockey by 21.73%. (2) Lung vital capacity contributes to West Sumatra's VO2 max Hockey ability by 16.46%. And (4) Hemoglobin and vital lung capacity jointly contribute to the ability of VO2 max by 25%.

Abstract

A number of runner problems, such as injuries and muscular soreness, can cause pain after running. Overindulgence in running volume and pace increases may be significant factors in the development of injuries. Numerical pain rating scale (NPRS) used to measure pain severity. The purpose of this study is to find correlations between pace and pain scale with NPRS. The study was an observational analytic with cross-sectional approach, sample included 39 recreational runners aged over 18 who reside in Indonesia. The results of this showed respondents were on average 33.2 years old (SD = 9.9) and included 66.7% male, with an average running frequency of 9.2 times per month (SD = 7.84), average pace is 6.98 (SD = 1.54), the NPRS varies from 0 to 6. Location of pain after running were toes (10.3%), sole of feet (15.4%), heel (10.3%), calves (43.6%) and had no complaints of pain (20.5%). The correlation between pace and pain scale with NPRS was significant (p<0.05), and was a positive correlation. There was a correlation between pace and NPRS; the slower of pace, the higher the pain. The implications for recreational runners were that they may decrease post-run pain by increasing their pace gradually by regular do-run exercising.

Abstract

This research is based on problems that occur in the field, namely that there is no gateball sports learning module, especially electronic-based, and there are still many students who cannot perform stroke and sparking techniques in the final exam test, so the development of e-modules is expected to improve student understanding and learning outcomes. after being given treatment. The novelty of the development of this e-module is in terms of packaging information on punch technique demonstration tutorials that can be easily understood by readers by providing direct examples through moving images and videos that can be clicked to enlarge. The type of research used is Pre-Experimental with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The subjects in this research were material experts, media experts, linguists, lecturers who taught gateball elective courses from Medan State University (UNIMED), 10 UNIMED students as small group trial samples and 30 STOK Binaguna Medan students as group trial samples big. E-module development follows Borg and Gall's theory with 10 stages. Validation shows the percentage of material experts is 94%, media experts are 93%, language experts are 68%, and lecturers are 98%. The increase in learning outcomes was analyzed using the T-Test and N-Gain, with an N-Gain result of 0.75 which was categorized as high, showing a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The T-Test produces a Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.00 <0.005 and tcount > ttable of 28.956 > 2.04523, which shows a significant increase in learning outcomes.

Abstract

Over the past decade, research to explore the benefits and types of plyometric exercises in volleyball has grown rapidly. However, the literature review on this topic is still very limited. The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic and in-depth review of the benefits and types of plyometric exercises in volleyball. Two databases (Scopus and Web of Science) were used to select articles containing information on this topic. The search was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. After exclusion criteria, only 25 articles were categorized. Demonstrated the positive impact of various plyometric exercises on volleyball play. The results showed that the benefits and types of plyometric exercises can increase strength, agility/speed in volleyball games. In-depth analysis of the technical and tactical aspects of volleyball games shows that jumping exercises on water, jumping exercises on sand, squat jumping exercises, and vertical jumping exercises can increase leg muscle strength so that it can increase the jump height of the players to improve the stroke, especially in the smash technique (attack) in volleyball games.

Abstract

The ideal method for teaching physical education subjects is not limited to the routine method. However, some new comprehensive methods and techniques work to develop all elements of the educational institution and all aspects related to the educational process. The research aims to design a program that includes small games with various content according to the four corners strategy. Also, to reveal the effect of the educational pillars strategy in developing aspects of attention and kinesthetic intelligence among fifth-grade primary school students. For this purpose, the researchers used the experimental method to suit this research. The research population was represented by fifth-grade primary school students aged (10-12) years at Aladnaniea Primary School for Boys in Mosul in the first semester of 2022/2023. The researchers adopted the experimental and control groups' design as an experimental design with a post-test. This includes an experimental group and a control group. The research instrument consisted of tests of attention and its aspects (concentration, distribution, and shifting), and a scale of kinesthetic intelligence. The results showed that the members of the experimental group who taught according to the educational pillars strategy outperformed those of the control group, who taught according to the traditional small-game method in the tachistoscope test and the kinesthetic intelligence scale. The researchers recommended considering the gradation in the content of small games from easy to difficult and from simple to complex. Also, conducting studies similar to the current study in developing some other mental abilities.

Abstract

The current work aims to identify the effect of the Bocartes model on cognitive knowledge. As well as to identify the effect of the Bocartes model on learning the long jump event. The researcher used a two-group (experimental and control) experimental design. The researcher identified her research population as first-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Kirkuk University for the academic year (2023-2024), numbering (213) students. As the long jump event is part of the vocabulary of a curricular subject at this stage. The research population was divided into four groups. The results showed that the directed-Bocartes model had a positive impact on the cognitive knowledge process. The experimental group outperformed the control group in cognitive knowledge experience. The directed-Bocartes model had a positive impact on learning the long jump. This is through significant differences in favor of the post-test for both the experimental and control groups. One of the most important recommendations is to adopt the directed-Bocartes method when teaching sports events in the arena and field, including the event of the long jump. Also, to adopt cognitive knowledge as a basis in the educational curricula and as required to learn different skills.

Abstract

This research is based on the condition of football players in Indonesia who still have minimal attitude in terms of respect. Players often act unsportsmanlike, such as trying to injure opponents, not shaking hands after committing a violation, and protesting excessively to the referee.  This study aims to develop a soccer training model based on character education in order to improve life skills.  The pretest results of the life skills of SSB Putra Karamat students using the character education development model seen based on the aspects of emotional skills, problem solving and decision making, leadership, and respect showed a significant difference with the pretest results of the life skills of SSB Tesa students. Likewise, the posttest results of the life skills of SSB Putra Karamat students differed from SSB Tesa students in measuring the same aspects during the pretest, where the life skills of SSB Putra Karamat students looked better. The implementation of character education (tolerance, discipline, responsibility, and respect) in the soccer training program has a positive impact on the life skills of players. Players can better control their emotions during the match, players can solve problems and make the right decisions, have a leadership spirit, and have a respectful attitude towards other players, referees, officials, and everyone involved in the soccer game. The impact of implementing the character education model in football games provides new innovations to the development of sports education science. Football players need to be equipped with good characters, not only having good basic techniques, prime physical condition, and good playing tactics.

Abstract

The study was conducted due to the lack of focus of the participants during shooting practice, which led to a tendency to rely on strength alone and consequently the accuracy in shooting became off target. This study aimed to investigate the impact of the use of target games on the level of shooting accuracy of participants in extracurricular activities at SMP N 1 Plaosan. The results showed a significant effect. These results can be seen from the value of ????ℎ???????????????????? 27.355 > ???????????????????????? 1.729 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The percentage of the increase in shooting accuracy of the extracurricular participants of SMP N 1 Plaosan after being given target practice is 14.85%. According to the results of the research and discussion that has been carried out, it can be concluded that involvement in target game training significantly improves the shooting accuracy of the extracurricular futsal participants of SMPN 1 Plaosan. This increase in ability occurs because participants associate the knowledge gained from previous sessions with new knowledge, and this connection is further strengthened through repeated training for six weeks with a frequency of three times a week.
