Abstract

One of the most common topics discussed in the early 90â??s was the emergence of globalised and technologically advanced world. One of the 'measurements' which is very important in determined the country competitiveness in globalization era is their productivity. Developed countries has realise the innovation, diffusion and learning processes are believed as a key success factors to determine their productivity and those three factors gathering together to generate competitive advantage. Therefore, strengthening the innovation system becomes a very important agenda in many countries and coupled with the phenomenon of business agglomeration or the clustering phenomenon that can be seen around the world. While the concepts of clustering have been investigated for the last twenty years, there has been relatively deficiency of research on the issue of innovation cluster, especially in Indonesia. For that purpose, this paper described a literature review in context of innovation and cluster that emerge in the developed countries and how the development cluster and innovation itself in Indonesia. By analyzing the correspond literature, the best standard of innovation cluster are refined and enhanced. The results of this study contribute as a guide for potential areas for future research.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis determinan dan keterkaitan permintaan tenaga kerja sektor pertanian dan non pertanian baik tenaga kerja terdidik maupun tidak terdidik, sehingga mampu menggambarkan perilaku permintaan pasar kerja secara spesifik berdasarkan karakter pendidikan untuk setiap sektornya dalam rangka mengatasi pengangguran di Indonesia. Model dibangun dalam bentuk persamaan simultan. Pendugaan model menggunakan metode Two Stage Least Square (2 SLS).  Data adalah data berurut waktu 1990-2009. Data sebagian besar diambil dari hasil Survey Angkatan Kerja Nasional, Badan Pusat Statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertambahan permintaan tenaga kerja terdidik dan tidak terdidik di sektor pertanian lebih dipengaruhi oleh pertambahan investasi dan produksi pertanian, sementara pertambahan permintaan tenaga kerja terdidik dan tidak terdidik di sektor non pertanian lebih dipengaruhi oleh investasi dan permintaan tenaga kerja sektor non pertanian. Terdapat hubungan komplementer antara tenaga kerja sektor pertanian dengan tenaga kerja sektor industri terdidik, sebaliknya terdapat hubungan substitusi antara tenaga kerja sektor pertanian dengan tenaga kerja sektor jasa (informal) tidak terdidik. Upah bukan merupakan faktor yang berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan permintaan tenaga kerja terdidik dan tidak terdidik di sektor pertanian dan non pertanian.  Oleh karenanya masih diperlukannya intervensi pemerintah dalam penentuan upah pasar dalam menjamin kesejahteraan tenaga kerja, mengingat  upah bukan merupakan  penentu dalam peningkatan permintaan tenaga kerja. Untuk mengatasi jumlah pengangguran yang semakin meningkat, maka penciptaan kesempatan kerja diarahkan pada peningkatan produksi dan investasi di sektor pertanian, serta memacu agroindustri pertanian.Kata Kunci: permintaan tenaga kerja, pendidikan,  pertanian, non pertanian, perilaku

Abstract

Consumunity theory offers a view in which consumers can co-create the value in-use of the brand.  Given a platform, consumers share their tastes and buy preferences for the benefits of others adapting to their surrounding social values.  Many brand literatures address the platform as a brand community, yet there has not been any attempt to separate between the values of the brand community and the utilized spaces of knowledge sharing platform (KSP) because both platforms have been assumed to be embedded together in one platform.  The purpose of this quantitative research is to show that KSP by its distinct roles and functions other than the values of brand community can also contribute to the brand community commitment.  A sample of 600 respondents was collected with accidental sampling method at three various brand community events in Bogor and Jakarta, namely Kecap Bango Mania, Bogasari Baking Center and Ibu dan Balita of Frisian Flags.  The analytical method employed is structural equation analysis using structural equation modelling (SEM) as its tool to run the data. The result of this descriptive research shows that there is a good probability that brand community commitment can be influenced by the knowledge sharing platform alone.  This finding should be beneficial to the brand producer to consider KSP as an alternative means to have their employees involved in its activity to maintain the moral values of the brand. Abstract

Di Indonesia industri otomotif merupakan salah satu industri yang menyumbangkan pajak terbesar bagi pemerintah Indonesia. Saat ini industri otomotif Indonesia berkembang sangat cepat dan signifikan, dan dalam beberapa tahun ke depan diprediksikan akan menjadi yang terbesar di Asia Tenggara, menggeser posisi Thailand yang selama ini menjadi pemimpin pasar. Meskipun industri otomotif ini demikian pesat perkembangannya dan banyak menarik investor asing, sayangnya belum banyak penelitian yang mengkaji faktor-faktor apa saja yang menjadi kunci sukses industri ini di Indonesia. Mengingat bahwa industri ini merupakan industri yang bersifat technology-driven, dengan sistem produksi yang telah berkelas dunia dan infrastuktur manajemen lainnya yang saling mendukung, perlu dikaji selain faktor sistem produksi, faktor apa lagi yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja organisasi pada industri ini. Dengan mempertimbangkan bahwa kehebatan suatu sistem produksi tidak dapat dilepaskan dari sumber daya manusia yang menciptakan, mengatur, menjalankan dan mengontrol sistem tersebut, maka tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh aspek pengelolaan sumber daya manusia terhadap peningkatan kinerja organisasi di industri otomotif di Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan pada dua perusahaan otomotif milik Jepang di Indonesia, dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek pengelolaan sumber daya manusia terbukti berpengaruh positif secara langsung dan signifikan terhadap kinerja organisasi di industri otomotif di Indonesia.

Abstract

At the beginning of 2008, the amount of cluster industry batik in Solo start to grew, with so many innovations, big market (co1nsumers), low cost and high progit margin. The condition is so much different compare to the late 1980. Thus, with agent-based simulation for industrial cluster, the aims of the research are to understand what mechanism can describe the formation of cluster industry batik in Solo, and propose strategies to stimulate formation of cluster industry. There are three agents modeled in the simulation; consumer, produce, and supplier. Each agent has their own attributes and decision role. As result, the simulation can describe that industrial cluster is formed as bottom-up interaction between agents with interdependency decision-making. In the long term, only producer agent that agglomerate with other industry can survive and the average wealth of each agent will increase along with the density cluster of certain industrial cluster. Several policies can be implemented to stimulate the industrial cluster formation are creating join-showroom, build waste-water treatment for several industries, renovate the facilities (access) to the cluster industries.Keywords:service science, cluster industry, agent-based simulation, cluster industry batik Solo

Abstract

Tofu-tempe has been popular among the Indonesia people. Nearly all people have ever consumed them. However with the long draught in the last half century in United States of America, the price of soybean, the raw material of tofu-tempe, has increased significantly. Consequently, the producers of tofu-tempe in Jakarta protested. They stopped the production for 3 days from 25 to 27 July 2012. The relation between media and protest is transactional. On the one hand, the protesting group uses media to disseminate their activities. On the other hand, media needs news to report. The objective of this study is to describe the protest of tofu-tempe producers. Therefore, this study attempts to answer some questions: (i) what is the root caused and what have triggered the protest? (ii) what is the target and what is the objective of the protest? (iii) who is benefited by the protest? and (iv) why the producers participated in the protest? Data on the protest by tofu-tempe producers were collected from media and analyzed by content analysis. The results showed that the roots caused of the protest were: (a) inability of the government to provide self-sufficiency of soybean; and (b) inability of the government to control the supply of soybean at national level and the trigger of the protest was significant increase of soybean price. They have made the producers protested. The objective of the protest were: (a) taking over of soybean trade by the government; (b) elimination of import tariff for soybean; (c) socialization to the society that soybean price has increased so that the society can understand the increase of selling price; (d) subsidy to soybean price to the producers of tofu-tempe; and (e) showing to the government the suffering of producers of tofu-tempe after the soybean price increase. The targets of the protest were the government; and the people most benefited by the protest were soybean importers.  Keywords: protest, media, agenda setting, social dilemma theory, qualitative content analysis.

Abstract

Berbagai studi menunjukkan bahwa implementasi strategi jauh lebih penting daripada formulasi strategi.  Namun demikian, masih sedikit penelitian mengenai kerangka implementasi strategi untuk meningkatkan kesuksesan organisasi.  Penelitian ini mengembangkan model implementasi strategi yang berperan meningkatkan kualitas implementasi strategi perusahaan. Studi menganalisis pengaruh kualitas implementasi strategi terhadap kesuksesan implementasi strategi dan kinerja perusahaan. Survei dilaksanakan pada 62 perusahaan Indonesia dari berbagai bidang industri.  Data dianalisis secara statistik dengan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Penelitian menemukan pengaruh signifikan tujuh faktor tahapan implementasi dan sembilan faktor kapabilitas pendukung implementasi strategi terhadap kesuksesan implementasi strategi. Selanjutnya kesuksesan implementasi strategi memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja perusahaan.
