Abstract

Abstrak. Konsep hospitality dapat dijelaskan dalam dua aspek yaitu dalam aspek filosofi dan ekonomi. Rancangan arsitektur yang terkait fasilitas hospitality seperti bangunan hotel, perlu menampilkan filosofi konsep hospitality yang berkaitan dengan pengelolaan experience dan konsep ekonomi hospitality yang berkaitan dengan harga/biaya untuk experience tersebut. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keterkaitan antara persepsi dan preferensi (willingness to stay) dewasa muda Indonesia terhadap rancangan bangunan hotel dengan konsep perceived value (ekonomi) dan leisure experience (filosofis) dalam konteks hospitality. Penelitian untuk studi ini menggunakan metode sequential mixed-method untuk melihat persepsi dan willingness to stay responden, yang mana hasil analisis data tersebut akan dikaitkan dengan konsep perceived value dan leisure experience. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya indikasi keterkaitan antara preferensi (willingness to stay) responden pada tampilan bangunan dengan perceived value dan leisure experience.Kata kunci: perceived value, leisure experience, hospitality, willingness to stay, dewasa mudaAbstract. Hospitality concept can be defined in two aspects i.e. in philosophy and economy aspects. Architecture design that related with hospitality facilities such as hotel building, need to shows the philosophy of hospitality concept that related with experience management, and hospitality in economy concept that related with cost for the experience. The aim of this study is to reviewing relationship of Indonesian early-adulthoods perception and preference (willingness to stay) to hotel design with perceived value (in philosophy) and leisure experience (in economy) concepts in hospitality context. This study used sequential mixed-method to investigate respondents perception and willingness to stay, which is that result will be associated with perceived value and leisure experience concepts. Abstract

An optimization procedure with constraints of time and cost was applied to the postal delivery service in Indonesia involving third parties of transportation modes by using Triple Algorithm and Minimum Cost Network Flow Problem methods. Althought it is nevertheless the initial stage, the optimization has showed its capability to satisfy the delivery time standard and to reduce the transportation cost simultaneously. The procedure has given a large impact on the cost effectiveness of 46,8% in this study by optimizing the choices of the transportation routes and the third parties involved. Invention of the consignment flow route and the modes selection will be useful for the network design, the third parties selection, and delivery monitoring and tracking, particularly by integrating it to the Geographical Information System. This information is especially suitable for a multifaceted archipelago and wide-area country such as Indonesia. Keywords: Postal delivery network, transportation cost, delivery time, transportation modes, optimization

Abstract

Since there was land conversion for urban development, South Bandung regency –especially Baleendah and Dayeuhkolot subdistricts– experiencing flood frequently. Noted as the worst flood for the last two decades, in the end of January 2010 water from the tributary of Citarum River inundate 4474 houses and force more than one thousand people to evacuate and stay in the temporary shelter for almost there months. With difficulties on accessing clean water, highly exposed to contaminated water and crowding in the temporary shelter, increasing the risk of infectious diseases. Diarrhea, Acute-Respiratory-Infections (ARI), and skin dieaseas are three most common diseases suffered by the refugees. But only ARI is the most sensitive because the infectivity includes human interaction. So, thispaper try to model the spread of ARI using agent-based modeling. Several scenarios –using diffent length of time and medicine stocks– are tested to monitor the number of refugees who get ARI or Pneumonia

Abstract

Abstract. Performance of health safety environmental (HSE) has been tightly demanded by stakeholders (customer, government, public, NGO, employee) and become essential factors of organization’s competitive advantages. High HSE performance leads to improving customer satisfaction, legitimacy and reputation from which better financial performance can be gained. In order to do that, companies must implemement HSE process management. The research aims to investigate effects of the four constructs, namely process management, HSE performance, organization’s competitive advantage and financial performance. The study uses descriptive and quantitative statistical methods involving 119 companies of which SEM is used to see linkages between factors. The testing results show that the process management gives significant positive effect to HSE performance after which it simulataneously affect significant and positively to competitive advantage but it has no significant relationship with financial performance. However, competitive advantage affect positively to financial performance. In conclusion, HSE process management improves HSE performance, which subsequently increases Competitive advantage but it does not affect financial performance. The increase of financial performance is given by competitive advantage.Key words: HSE, Performance, Competitive Advantages, Financial Performance, SEM Abstrak. Kinerja lingkungan dan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (LK3) telah dituntut dengan ketat oleh para pemangku kepentingan (pelanggan, pemerintah, masyarakat, LSM, karyawan) dan menjadi faktor-faktor esensial bagi keunggulan kompetitif organisasi. Untuk itu, perusahaan harus menerapkan manajemen proses LK3. Kinerja LK3 tinggi memberikan kepuasan pelanggan, legitimasi dan reputasi sehingga kinerja finansial dapat diperoleh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati pengaruh-pengaruh empat konstruk, yaitu Manajemen proses LK3, Kinerja LK3, Keunggulan kompetitif dan Kinerja finansial. Penelitian menggunakan metode analisa deskriptif dan kuantitatif yang meliputi 119 perusahaan dimana SEM diterapkan untuk melihat hubungan-hubungan antar faktor secara simultan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Manajemen proses LK3 memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap Kinerja LK3 yang selanjutnya secara simultan memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap Keunggulan kompetitif dan tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap Kinerja finansial. Tetapi, Keunggulan kompetitif memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap Kinerja financial. Kesimpulan yang diambil adalah penerapan manajemen proses LK3 meningkatkan Kinerja LK3 yang selanjutnya meningkatkan Keunggulan kompetitif tetapi tidak mempengaruhi Kinerja finansial. Peningkatan kinerja finansial diberikan oleh keunggulan kompetitif.Kata kunci: LK3, Kinerja, Keunggulan Kompetitif, Kinerja Finansial, SEM

Abstract

Organizational Capability is considered to be one of the most important issues in strategic management and human capital literature. Organizational Capability can be understood as the all elements that work efficiently and effectively to help organization create its strategy that fits to its industry level of turbulence and to achieve company performance.  Previous research  confirmed the identification  of nine (9) elements as organizational capability. These are speed innovation, customer connectivity, seeks related change,  strategic  responsiveness,  international working  environment,  ready  to  strategic  alliances, efficiency  and  talent. Research  confirmed  that Organizational Capabilities  have  positive  impact  to Organizational Performance. Research shows the connection between the three variables –Leadership –Organizational Culture and Political Behavior in creating Organizational Capability and its impact to Organizational Performance. Structural Equation modeling shows that Leadership and Organizational Culture do not have direct relationship with Organizational Performance, however both have positive relationship  with  Organizational  Capability.  Organizational  Performance  was  directly  influenced positively by Organizational Capability and negatively impacted by Organizational Politics. Abstract

Abstrak.Terdapat beberapa hal yang penting untuk dipertimbangkan dalam membentuk sebuah portofolio saham, dua diantaranya yakni penentuan kriteria pemilihan saham dan keputusan alokasi aset.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menawarkan metode Z-Score sebagai salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan untuk melakukan pemilihan saham ke dalam portofolio investor. Variabel-variabel yang digunakan sebagai komponen Z-Score pada penelitian ini yaitu meliputi faktor persepsi pasar serta kinerja keuangan perusahaan. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah saham-saham perusahaan yang tercatat di pasar modal Indonesia. Data variabel diambil berdasarkan data di akhir tahun 2011 dan periode pengukuran performa portofolio yaituselama 5 tahun yaitu dari 2012 hingga 2016. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, portofolio Z-Score yang terdiri dari portofolio value dan growth investing menghasilkan imbal hasil secara keseluruhan yang lebih besar dibandingkan IHSG namun dengan standar deviasi yang juga lebih tinggi.Katakunci: Z-Score, portofolio, persepsi pasar, kinerja keuangan, capital allocation lineAbstract. There are several important things to consider when constructing a portfolio of stocks, two of which are stock selection and determining the allocation of funds to each stock. This study aimed to provide Z-Score method as one of the methods that an investor could utilize when selecting stocks to be included in his portfolio. In using Z-Score method for stock selection, this study used several variables which include variables that represent market perception as well as variables illustrating the companies' fundamental financial performance. The samples used in this study include stocks of the companies that are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange.The datas for each variable were gathered based on 2011 performance and the performance of the constructed portfolios was tested in 5 year time horizon, from 2012 to 2016. Based on the results, the portfolios constructed using Z-Score method, which consist of value stock portfolio and growth stock portfolio, yielded higher return but also with higher standard deviation compared to the performance of IHSG.Keywords: Z-Score, portfolio, market perception, financial performance, capital allocation line

Abstract

Kepuasan kerja merupakan salah satu factor dominan dalam membentuk komitmen pegawai terhadap perusahaan. Riset ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kepuasan kerja pegawai dengan faktor-faktor nilai personal, gaya kepemimpinan dan budaya organisasi. Riset ini didasari oleh keberagaman nilai-nilai personal dalam diri tiap individu sehingga memungkinkan terjadinya konflik atau sebaliknya sinergi di antara para karyawan. Masing-masing variabel riset dijabarkan dalam bentuk kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada responden dengan metode ‘simple random sampling”. Data yang terkumpul diolah menggunakan metoda “ Structural Equation Modelling (SEM)”. Hal ini karena metoda SEM mampu mengukur variabel yang tidak dapat diukur secara langsung namun saling berkaitan. Hasil riset ini menunjukan bahwa nilai-nilai personal, gaya kepemimpinan dan budaya organisasi memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan kepuasan kerja. Budaya organisasi sebagai variabel moderator ternyata dapat memperkuat hubungan yang tercipta antara gaya kepemimpinan dan kepuasan kerja. Katakunci: nilai-nilai personal, gaya kepemimpinan, budaya organisasi, kepuasan kerja

Abstract

Abstrak. Transaksi afiliasi merupakan aksi korporasi penting dengan tingkat kejadian tertinggi dari seluruh aksi korporasi emiten yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Intensitas transaksi afiliasi memungkinkan ekspropriasi hak pemegang saham minoritas serta berpengaruh terhadap nilai perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis determinan-determinan yang mempengaruhi intensitas transaksi afiliasi pada perusahaan dalam grup bisnis di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Determinan tersebut adalah kepemilikan saham ultimat, tata kelola perusahaan yang baik (dengan komisaris independen dan kantor akuntan publik Big Four sebagai proxy), rasio utang terhadap modal serta periode krisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan data panel dengan periode waktu kuartalan dari 2006 sampai 2013. Sampel ditentukan dengan cara purposive sampling yang berfokus kepada tipologi perusahaan yaitu perusahaan yang tergabung dalam tiga grup bisnis mewakili tiga lapisan kapitalisasi pasar. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kepemilikan saham ultimat secara tidak signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap intensitas transaksi afiliasi. Komisaris independen dan rasio utang terhadap modal secara signifikan berpengaruh positif terhadap intensitas transaksi afiliasi. Kantor akuntan publik Big Four secara signifikan berpengaruh negatif terhadap intensitas transaksi afiliasi. Periode krisis secara tidak signifikan berpengaruh negatif terhadap intensitas transaksi afiliasi. Determinan-determinan tersebut secara keseluruhan berpengaruh terhadap intensitas transaksi afiliasi.Keywords: transaksi afiliasi, grup bisnis, pemegang saham ultimat, tata kelola perusahaan yang baik, rasio utang terhadap modal. Abstract. Related party transactions are important corporate actions with the highest incidence rate of all issuers’ corporate actions listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Related party transactions' intensity allows minority  holders' expropriation right and affects company's value. This study aimed to analyze the determinants affecting related party transactions’ intensity in companies in the business groups in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The determinants were ultimate shareholders, good corporate governance (with independent commissioner and the Big Four public accounting firms as proxies), debt to equity ratio, and period of crisis. This study used panel data with quarterly time period from 2006 to 2013. Samples were determined by purposive sampling focusing on companies’ typology, namely companies in the three business groups representing the market capitalization’s three layers.  The results showed that ultimate shareholders insignificantly had positive effect on related party transactions’ intensity. Independent commisioners and debt to equity ratio significantly had positive effect on related party transactions’ intensity. The Big Four public accounting firms significantly had negative effect on related party transactions’ intensity. Period of crisis insignificantly had negative effect on related party transactions’ intensity. The determinants as a whole have an effect on the intensity of related party transactions.Keywords: related party transaction, business group, ultimate shareholder, good corporate governance, debt to equity ratio.

Abstract

Designing and implementing PMS in an integral part of management control systems. To be effective, performance measures need to reflect the changes in competitiveness. However, traditional PMS is criticized for being obsolete, irrelevant to managerial decision making, unrelated to strategic objectives and detrimental to organizational improvements. Given the shortcomings of traditional PMS, there is need for a new framework that can lead to the design of a PMS that balances short-term and long-term measures, internal and external measures, and financial and operational measures. This paper presents on designing and managing performance of a manufacturing unit from the corporate level to the shop floor level.
