Abstract

Abstract.This research examines the effect BI rate towards the economic condition of Indonesia, measured by various variables using the Taylor Rule methods. This study has a purpose to measure the effect of BI rate to the Indonesian economics to see the effectiveness of BI rate towards Indonesian Economics. Considering the fluctuating Indonesian economics, the research seems necessary. The methodology used on the paper will be VAR (Vector Auto Regression). The type of  VAR used will be determined in the paper based on the type of the data through various tests. This paper concludes with a discussion of recommendation, and the limitations of the research. Some researcher and economic watchers have considered that BI rate ineffective because of various reasons. The results was BI rate is not significantly affect other variables in Taylor Rule and some variables like Inflation are the one significantly affect other variables.Keywords: BI rate, economics, inflation rate, Gross Domestic Product, Taylor Rule

Abstract

In this research, Researcher analyze about the past financial condition of Esso Malaysia Berhad, as the latest issue of ExxonMobil downstream divestiture, in comparison with another ExxonMobil downstream in Asia, which is Esso Thailand. Researcher interest in assess the financial performance of Esso Malaysia Berhad before Esso Malaysia Berhad Divested in August 2011. Researcher wants to analyze the performance in according to the divestiture issues. ExxonMobil stated that Esso Malaysia Berhad had a continuous decline financial performance, and as the ExxonMobil downstream subsidiary, Esso Malaysia Berhad Contribute less than the other ExxonMobil Downstream industries. In assessing the financial performance of Esso Malaysia Berhad, researcher will use several methods which are time-series analysis (Compound Annual Growth Rate), cross-sectional analysis, common-size financial statement analysis, and DuPont system of Analysis. In overall, unfortunately Esso Malaysia Berhad has better performance than Esso Thailand in terms of financial ratios analysis, Compound Annual Growth Rate Comparison, cross-sectional analysis and DuPont system of analysis. Abstract

In 2014 the increased clean water service only reach up to 50% of the total population in Indonesia, or about 160.000 l/s. The needs of a lot improvement in this sector make clean water as business commodity. PT. TeknoTirta Nusantara (TTN) and PDAM KabupatenSerang are interested to developing the quality and quantity of clean water supply in KabupatenSerang. This research are to calculate the investment feasibility study, conducting risk analysis through sensitivity analysis method, assessing the performance of the company using economic value added method, last to identify and measure of financial risks that threaten a company or projects (risk mapping).Keywords: clean water, feasibility study, sensitivity analysis, economic value added, risk mapping.

Abstract

Abstract. Diverse workforce is an increasingly important phenomenon that needs better understanding. Numerous multinational companies that operates in several places in the world hire employees that comes from various part of the world, and one of them is PT Freeport Indonesia. As a multinational company, PT Freeport Indonesia hires Indonesian employees that come from various ethnic group in Indonesia, thus making PT Freeport Indonesia a company which ethnically diverse. This is also applicable in the Facilities and Town Management department – Highland division, one of the departments in PT Freeport Indonesia. Their employee comes from various ethnic backgrounds, thus potentially carry different values and behaviors with them. This research aims to analyze one form of diversity, namely communication styles involving various ethnic groups in the company using a quantitative method (i.e. survey) The outcome of this research is an analysis of dominant communication styles of various ethnic groups, categorized into several groups, and several suggestions on how to manage diversity based on ethnic groups for the Facilities and Town Management department PT Freeport Indonesia. The study found some significant differences in communication style from several group, although only a few were found. Even so, this suggests that even if it is subtle the potential conflicts may appear. Although there are many similarities among groups in each communication style, it does not imply that conflict may not appear. That is why better understanding from each member of the department is essential to minimizes conflict and increase work harmony.Keywords: communication style, cross cultural communication, diversity, ethnic diversity

Abstract. In the globalization era, internet is essential tools that provide us so many conveniences to ease our daily lives. Including in the financial sector. Internet helps increasing the financial understanding of people. Financial literacy and inclusion is one of the important things in determining the economic situation of a country. Financial literacy and inclusion could be achieved by financial education. The data collected from the World Bank shows that Financial Inclusion in Indonesia only reach 30% of total Indonesian adults. One of the easiest way to improve Indonesian economy is by implementing financial education specialized in investment, such as Mutual Fund, Stock, and Bond. This study is to determine the level of Investment literacy and inclusion among Indonesia largest online community such us detik, kaskus, and kompasiana. The data collected from the questionnaire that will be spread on the internet to the online community. The questionnaire is based on the research that conducted by Ronald P. Volpe, World Bank, and Otoritas Jasa Keuangan. The result suggested that there is still low Investment literacy and Inclusion in Indonesia online community, and still needed to be improved significantly.Keywords: Investment Literacy; Investment Inclusion; Online community

Abstract

Abstract- GKSI (Union of Indonesian Dairy Cooperatives) Boyolali is milk treatment industry currently specializing in condensed milk and focus to do B2B as contract manufacturer. They faced pressure on profit margin due to tighter competition and increasing raw material and utility cost. The company did not success on fulfilling market requirement and managing their resources affecting to uncompetitiveness on their business. The purpose of this research is to propose strategy formulation to improve their performance through corporate, business, operation strategy. Conceptual model to be used in this research is strategic management model about strategy hierarchy and operation strategy model by Slack and Lewis. The data to support analysis were collected through in-depth interview with people in the company, observation, historical data of the company, and information from public news. Corporate strategy formulation began by doing external and internal analysis, then summarizes it into SWOT. Then, it would use IFAS-EFAS, Grand Matrix, GE Matrix, and TOWS Matrix to determine directional strategy. Business strategy would use Porter Competitive Strategy. As final output, operation strategy formulation would determine performance objectives that considered pivotal for the company. Then, it continued by determining the excellent strategy through operation strategy matrix with prioritizing the certain area that become critical structural and infrastructural decision. In corporate level strategy, the direction of company is stability and selective investment. Business strategy that suit the most for their current condition and capability is differentiation. With quality and speed are the most pivotal performance objectives, the company should focus to acquire cooling technology for production process (structural decision), product and service development and improve standardization on production (infrastructural decision). Abstract

Indonesia as the country with abundant natural resources inevitable attract both domestic and international companies to exploit these natural resources for business interest, especially those who specialize with mining industry. Mining industry is in fact creating an impact towards the state of environment and community where the company does its business activities. To minimize the impact to the environment and community, respected company has to create Corporate Social Responsibilities. In attempt to create a benchmark for the Corporate Social Responsibilities program, the Indonesian government trough Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup (KLH) established PROPER program to assess the CSR program that the companies implemented.  The purpose of this final project is to research whether the PROPER program is assisting companies to create a better quality of CSR programs trough its regulations and assessments. This final project is also researching the impact on PROPER program assessment to the corporate sustainability, in this context towards PT. Antam sustainability. The result of the program will also be analyzed to discover whether it is already accomplish its target or not. The Author will analyze the relation between PROPER assessment and the corporate sustainability to determine the strength and weakness of PROPER program. To achieve the objectives above the Author interviewed some of the biggest responsibilities holder in CSR field of PT Antam and experts in CSR fields, including those who helped KLH create the PROPER program. To get the results, the Author is using these methodology, Research Design, Problem Identification, Data Gathering, Data Analysis, and Conclusion. The conclusion of this research is PROPER program does direct companies to create strategic CSR program, shown by its regulations, terms, and conditions. But the post-assessment creates no tangible impacts to corporate sustainability. Abstract. Navire hosts massive potential during its year due to the trend and unique product offering. Howe ver, the company ended its run. There is clear intention from executives of Navire to continue their business. The executives claimed they are struggle to formulate cohesive business strategy. In strategic management, business strategy formulation is very important. The goal of this research is to formulate business strategy for Navire. Strategic management process is used as a theoretical framework. Theories that were used in based on the theoretical framework, with the addition of Costumer Behavior and marketing strategy; Market STP, and Marketing Mix. The inclusion of Customer Behavior Model is to reassess the market again as data provided by executives of Navire is already irrelevant. The findings of this research are, the general environment are supportive. Demographically, Navire market, based on the questionnaire result divided into 5. The industry is expected to grow and holds an attractive proposition. In terms of rivalry, the industry is deemed to be at medium level. Competitor environment analysis result concludes each competitor have their own unique capabilities. Internal environment of the company also analyzed with resource analysis and value chain analysis. This information was then assessed and strategies are made. Abstract. Photography industry has flourished in Indonesia, including photo studio company. However, as one of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) also face similar problem commonly occur by MSMEs itself, which is the marketing problem. Angkasa Photo Studio is one of the MSME (Small - Medium Enterprise) companies that move in photography sector. Established in 2013 at Bojong Soang 79th street, Bandung, West Java, Angkasa Photo Studio facing a lot of photo studio competitors that is spread in Bandung City. Among marketing mix, promotion is the part of the marketing mix that can be used to raise awareness about the company. Therefore, this research was intended to resolve the promotion mix (advertising, sales promotion, and personal selling) of Angkasa Photo Studio. Moreover, this research also designed in order to identify the influence of the promotional mix toward the purchase intention of Angkasa Photo Studio that could support the photography quality growth / improvement in the future. The data for this research was collected using Quantitative Method approach through offline and online questionnaire to 200 Indonesian respondents. This study adopts the Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) analysis to see the relationship between promotional mix and purchase intention. The result shows that model of promotional mix and purchase intention is significant. Abstract

Abstract- Capital market as one of the promising economic instruments is the investment object that quite interesting, but still not much glimpsed by Indonesian people. Recorded only about 4% of people who know about the capital market, and based on an index of literacy in services and financial sector, the utilization rate of capital market products and services only reached 0.11%. Meanwhile, the market share of Islamic stocks has mastered 50% of the shares in the Indonesian Stock Exchange. Thus the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) as one of sharia stock index may be a reference to an attractive investment for the Muslim majority of Indonesian people (87.18%). On the other hand, gold that has a long history and relations with the Islamic economic world is still a favorite commodity to invest. World Gold Council noted that Indonesia becomes the highest gold consumer in Southeast Asia. However, despite being one of the safest investment due to its value tends to rise, but the gold return tends to be lower than stock returns. Meanwhile the year 2009 was a year with a positive vision for the Indonesian economy after the global crisis of 2008. Various economic indicators experienced a positive trend, as inflation reached 2.78%, the lowest in the history of the Indonesian economy. As well as the performance of the Indonesian capital market, IHSG in 2009 increased by 87% from the previous year, the highest in ASEAN. By contrast, the exchange rate of has weakened against US dollar over the years, with the exception of 2010 which is capable strengthened to Rp8.900, - per US dollar. Also the nominal GDP has increased from year to year. This research aimed to determine the effect of macro-economic factors that have been mentioned, that are inflation, exchange rate and GDP, as well as the price of gold toward stock returns in companies listed in JII from 2009 to 2014. The data used in this research is the annual secondary data of each variable. By using panel data regression method, this research found that inflation, exchange rates and the gold price has a significant effect on stock returns in JII, while GDP has no significant effect. But simultaneously, all four of these variables have a significant effect and are able to explain as much as 62% of the information on the stock return of companies listed in JII, the rest of 38% is explained by other variables outside the four independent variables in this research. This research is also expected can give consideration to investors who want to invest in the capital market, especially Islamic stock in JII. Keywords: capital market, stock returns, inflation, exchange rates, gross domestic product, the price of gold, panel data regression, Jakarta Islamic Index
