Abstract

The problem of the High Social Gap in Papua which is the cause of marginalization and discrimination against the Papuan people, as well as the different perceptions of some Indonesians at home and abroad towards armed separatist conflicts are push factors to corner the Indonesian government. In addition, the issue of internationalization of the 1969 referendum mechanism, violations of Human Rights (HAM), and the management of Natural Resources (SDA) by multinational companies that do not have an impact on improving the welfare of the Papuan people also complement the government's opinion of failure. Against the background of these problems, this study uses a quasi-qualitative research method and an exploratory approach with soft systems methodology (SSM) as a data analysis technique to answer the formulation of the problem and research questions. Research data were collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGD), in-depth interviews, and direct discussions with various informants (academics, practitioners, bureaucracy, and community leaders), plus a literature review as secondary data. The results of this study recommend the development of an Integrated Food Estate (IFE) in stages according to customary areas in Papua, which will indirectly support the realization of Territorial Resilience and the Universal Defense System (Sishta). Furthermore, to ensure that all these processes are carried out properly and continuously, this study recommends the establishment of an Integrated Solution Center (ISC). With the implementation of these recommendations, it is hoped that the peaceful and prosperous Papuan people will soon be realized.

Abstract

Project construction is a dynamic and complex system that involves many parties from the planning stage to the project handover stage. The problems that arise are varied and generally vary from one project to another, but these problems affect project performance. Project performance is assessed from the time of project execution, the quality or quality of the project and the costs used in the construction project. Problems that arise in a project often lead to an extension of the project implementation time, additional project costs and work results that do not match the quality of the agreement. This study aims to determine the influence of the internal and external environment on project performance, especially the electricity system development project in Borneo. Internal and external environmental factors are taken from related studies as well as previous research that has been carried out in various countries and regions. It can be concluded that economic and financial factors (X1), technology factors and construction resources (X2) and project organizational culture factors (X3) are the factors causing project performance problems (Y).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of e-service quality, brand awareness, advertising in influencing the brand image of the specialty store on the behavior of consumers' decisions to repurchase specialty store products. The sample of this study was taken from the consumer population in the Greater Jakarta area. This study uses a questionnaire to measure the effect of the relationship between independent variables (e-service quality, brand awareness, advertising), and mediating variable (brand image) on the dependent variable (repurchase intention). The research results were analyzed using Partial Least Square (PLS) tools. Based on the results of the study, it was found that e-service quality and brand awareness had a significant effect on brand image, while advertising did not have a significant effect on brand image. For the brand image itself has a significant influence on repurchase intention. The results show that the level of e-service quality and brand awareness plays an important role in improving the brand image in specialty stores. Therefore, to increase the achievement of sales targets, a specialty store needs to improve its brand image because it has an impact on consumer repurchase decision behavior. In this study, the variable e-service quality is used which is a digital-based service through the internet network where previous studies have tested service quality on brand image, but have not focused on digital-based services.

During the period 2013-2016, there have been 32 KRI accidents, the data can show an increasing trend of KRI accidents. In the maritime world, several ship accidents occur due to, among others, natural conditions, technical failures, shipping lane conditions, ship-related factors, human error, and cargo-related factors. This research uses a qualitative research approach with a case study method. From the research results, the ship which weighs 1,900 tons, has dimensions of 90.70 meters x 11.12 meters x 3.4 meters, is powered by 2 diesel engines, which can propel the ship up to a speed of 18 knots and can carry cargo up to 600 tons. happened when the ship finished docking. The habit factor of the ships above, anchoring like that, of course, has a reason, the Commander should in the learning process find out to enrich knowledge through experience to find the truth of the habit because one day it becomes one of the keys to work effectiveness and benefits in taking an action. If he learns from experience, leakage can be avoided. The results of the research show that expertise and responsibility are two of the pillars of professionalism, which are relevant to the case study of the shipwreck that the researcher lifted. The results of the ship accident case study, identified that to prevent accidents, officers must have technical, interpersonal, and conceptual skills. These three factors constitute a totality. This means that all three are interrelated and all KRI officers need some mix of all three. If one of them is not perfect or does not exist, it will have implications for shipping safety.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the barrier to the development of selected municipalities of Sulu province. It aimed to find out the Suluanos’ concept of development in terms of political, economic, socio-cultural, technological, and ecological aspects, including how these perceived barriers affect the development of Sulu. This research utilized the descriptive method where the Quantitative aspect gathered the data from 400 adults of ten big municipalities using a checklist questionnaire. The respondents were selected through systematic sampling. For the qualitative part, the collected data were from 90 participants through focus group discussions. The statistical tools used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and group means. The finding revealed that the Suluanos’ concept of development upheld the development policies which are participatory, equitable, appropriateness, concertizing, and environment friendly and the corresponding functions of development such as the political, economic, socio-cultural, technological, and ecological aspects. Of the five development functions, the economic aspect (2.95) was the main barrier to development. It is followed by the technological aspect (2.91), the political (2.79), and ecological (2.42) as the fourth rank. On the other hand, the socio-cultural part (2.21) was the least encountered barrier. The perceived barriers that affected the development of Sulu were related to lack of high ethical standards, transparency, accountability, effectiveness, and lack of respect for and commitment to social justice, human rights, environmental life protection, and people's empowerment. Based on the data gathered, the findings made the researcher conclude that the political, economic, technological, socio-cultural, and ecological aspects in Sulu were considered barriers to development. They were not within the bounds of good governance. Bureaucracy was weak due to the leaders' personalities, who were neither transactional nor transformational. At the same time, they were not within the context of the alternative model of development. To minimize if not eliminate the barriers to development, the government's efforts should be geared towards accountability to improve the quality of governance and dispensation of justice. Further studies are recommended to determine other predictors that can similarly evaluate the development conditions of Sulu Province.
