Abstract

Bullying in schools continues to be a pervasive issue that significantly impacts students' psychological, social, and academic development. At SMP Negeri 2 Perak Jombang, bullying manifests in various forms, including verbal, relational, and cyberbullying. This study explores the role of Islamic Education teachers in preventing and managing bullying using an ethics-based approach grounded in the principles of Islamic education. By adopting a descriptive-qualitative method, the research examines how Islamic Education teachers embody their roles as Mu’allim (knowledge providers), Mu’addib (ethical cultivators), and Murabbi (moral guides) to combat bullying. Through observation, interviews, and document analysis, the study finds that bullying often occurs in transitional spaces such as hallways and extends into digital platforms like WhatsApp groups. The research highlights that bullying is supported by social mechanisms, such as the normalization of derogatory humor and peer group reinforcement. The Islamic Education teachers, in their role as Mu’allim, educate students on values such as equality and respect, while as Mu’addib, they emphasize the importance of cultivating proper verbal etiquette and social ethics. As Murabbi, they provide ongoing guidance and collaborate with other school authorities to address bullying. The study concludes that ethics-based interventions by Islamic Education teachers, combined with collaborative efforts from guidance counselors, provide a robust model for bullying prevention, fostering a safer and more respectful school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of Quizizz Papermode in reading skills at Islamic Junior High School Khozinatul Ulum Gunungrejo Lamongan, and to identify obstacles that arise during its implementation. This study uses the Mixed Method Concurrent design, with qualitative data as the main source obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, and quantitative data from questionnaires. The results showed that students had a very positive perception of the use of Quizizz Papermode. This medium was considered interesting, enjoyable, easy to use, and able to increase students' motivation and understanding in analyzing parts of sentences in reading texts. The obstacles found were minor, namely the adaptation process in the first meeting and technical constraints in the form of projector damage. However, these obstacles did not interfere with the learning process. The questionnaire results, with an average index of 88.9%, reinforce that students did not experience significant difficulties during the use of Quizizz Papermode. Overall, Quizizz Papermode proved to be effective and practical as an evaluation medium that can increase student engagement and reading skills, especially in schools with limited digital facilities.

Abstract

This study explores students’ responses to the use of a bilingual (Arabic-English) pocket dictionary in learning activities at an Islamic boarding school in Jombang. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, involving students as participants. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observations of the students of Al Munawaroh Islamic boarding school at Jombang. The findings indicate that the bilingual pocket dictionary significantly supports vocabulary acquisition, enhances learner autonomy, and increases motivation. However, some limitations include over-reliance on direct translation and limited contextual understanding. The study suggests integrating dictionary use with contextual learning strategies to optimize language acquisition.
