Abstract

Health is a very important aspect in the life of everyone. Treatment of chronic diseases requires expensive medication costs and special handling. Based on this, Valencia Mieke Randa built a halfway house named Rumah Harapan Indonesia. Through Rumah Harapan Indonesia, she helps children and parents from various areas who do not haveplaces to live in Jakarta while undergoing treatment. All their needs, both materially and morally, are fully supported. Motivated by this story then the author decided to make a television documentary with the title "Ruang Mimpi, Rumah Singgah" with the aim to motivate and inspire people to do good and not hesitate to help others. The methods used by the author in this production are: field observations, approaches, and interviews with relevant sources, as well as audio-visual documentation. The author has a role as the producer, then the producer implemented producer’s idea in creating this documentary program “Teduh Pelita” Edition of “Ruang Mimpi, Rumah Singgah”. It could be concluded, first, that the writer as a producer has maximized the development of good ideas that can be seen in all sequences. The author optimized efforts to develop ideas, both point of view, motion graphics, and documentation photo frames in each sequence. Second, the producer applied conceptual planning after this documentary production was finished by combining good thoughts from the producer's idea development, visual development through the shot list by the program director, and scripts that support the language style by the script writer to make it easier to convey messages to the audience.

Abstract

Effective communication skills are crucial for students' success in the school environment. However, many middle school students still face communication barriers, including a lack of confidence and difficulty articulating their ideas. This study aims to develop the #JagoNgobrol application to enhance students' communication skills through a technology-based approach. The development process includes planning, production design, and evaluation stages. The application is designed with innovative features, including augmented reality simulations, daily mood tracking, mascot customization, and a peaceful nest. Testing results indicate that the application functions well, featuring an interactive interface and multi-level learning materials. The study concludes that #JagoNgobrol has the potential to be a practical solution for improving students' communication skills in a creative and structured manner.

Abstract

HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a type of virus that infects white blood cells which causes a decrease in human immunity. It had established a Rumah Singgah Kebaya. It is a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Yogyakarta that cares to HIV/AIDS patient. The NGO presents as a transgender empowerment center that provides shelter and assistance for People with HIV/AIDS (ODHA). In order to make visual documentary of the NGO, it was decided to create a television documentary program entitled "Dua Sisi" Edition of "Kami dan Rumah Singgah Kebaya". The methods used in the creation of this television documentary work are research methods, field observations, interviews with source persons, as well as television documentaries. This documentary applies the four stages of Aristotle's dramatic structure and to attract the attention of the audience through the dramatics implemented in the script so it is not monotonous. The dramatic structure has four stages as follows: Protasis Stage, Epitasio Stage, Catastasis Stage, and Catastrophe Stage. The type of this documentary work is a portrait documentary and its duration is about 22 minutes 35 seconds. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the dramatic structure is successfully implemented in the creation of this television documentary “Dua Sisi” Edisi “Kami dan Rumah Singgah Kebaya”.

Abstract

One evidence of the social changes that are taking place is the phenomenon of flexing culture, which is increasingly popular on social media, especially on the YouTube platform. Leslar Entertainment's YouTube content, which features Lesti and Bilar's flexing culture, has also received a lot of attention. Rizky Bilar and Lesti Kejora's materialistic behavior shows that they have a successful life with luxury goods, which can create a sense of imitation for netizens to be able to have the same thing. This study aims to determine how the phenomenon of flexing culture on YouTube social media Leslar Entertainment in relation to materialistic imitative using Alfred Schutz's phenomenological analysis of the period January-June 2023. Using descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection was carried out using documentation techniques and literature studies. In this study, interactive model data analysis techniques were used, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusion verification. The results of this study indicate that the flexing culture phenomenon displayed by Lesti-Billar on YouTube Leslar Entertainment causes materialistic imitative phenomena in some of its viewers. This can be seen from the positive comments that support Leslar's flexing content and inspire netizens to do imitative. In addition to showing off, the act of flexing is also based on because motives such as seeking attention, existence, social pressure, and lack of empathy. in order to motives also influence Lesti-Billar to increase popularity, image, social status, followers, financial gain, inspiration, entertainment, brand value, and business opportunities. This phenomenon is in accordance with Alfred Schutz's phenomenological theory.

Abstract

One of the success factors of a television program is program promotion. For this reason, a producer has a role to determine the right promotional strategy. The aim of this study is to create a promotional strategy for documentary programs via social media Instagram to attract attention and to provide information about the program being created to the wider public. The creation method used to create promotional content uses the Canva and Adobe Premiere applications which are used to edit video clips and make them into trailers as part of the program's promotional content. The promotional technique used is sharing content about the program through feeds, reels and Instagram stories. Based on the results of the insight review of the Instagram account used as promotional media, it was found that the total number of visits to all uploaded content was 449 visits in one week. The promotion strategy via Instagram social media is successful and it is used appropriately by sharing content in which the features provided by the Instagram can attract the public's attention.

Abstract

Case of violence against children is an incident that must be highlighted by the media, because this case involves very sensitive and important aspects in society. The media has a significant role in providing information, forming public opinion, and encouraging social change. This research aims to analyze the way kompas.com frames the chronological case of the abuse committed by Mario Dandy against David, who is a minor.  This incident happened  on Monday 20 February 2023 at the Green Permata Housing Complex, Pesanggarahan, South Jakarta at around 20:30 WIB. This research uses a qualitative method with a narrative approach, and implements constructivist paradigm. This research uses a content analysis method for news published by kompas.com regarding the abuse case committed by Mario Dandy against David. The analysis model used in this research is Robert N. Entman's analysis through news framing built by kompas.com with four stages of framing analysis model elements. Based on content analysis, this research finds that kompas.com uses framing that emphasizes empathy for victims, raises issues related to preventing violence against children, and places emphasis on legal aspects, as well as the responsibilities of the individuals involved. This media chooses words and images carefully to protect the privacy and identity of the victim.This research seeks to open insight into how online news media such as kompas.com plays a role in shaping public opinion and giving reactions to sensitive cases. By understanding how framing works, it is hoped that the results of this research can provide a deeper understanding of the influence of the media on public perception, as well as provide input for the development of more balanced, ethical and meaningful reporting.

Abstract

Currently, most village governments use social media to share information about the village, to introduce the village's potential, and to interact with villagers and the wider community. However, the Jabung Village Government does not yet have a social media account as an information channel. Therefore, the author aims to create a social media account to achieve one of the village's missions. This study discusses the content strategy on the main social media platform, Instagram, for the Jabung Village Government, Klaten, to increase engagement. This strategy aims to make the potential of Jabung Village more widely known. The author selects a strategy that aligns with the target audience and uses effective as well as engaging communication to ensure that all information is conveyed well and interaction with the audience is established. The Instagram content strategy is also designed according to the needs of the audience, especially the residents of Jabung Village. The method used is qualitative, with data collection through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The conclusion of this strategy shows that using attractive content titles is the most effective strategy to increase engagement, and the most effective content is Playful Content on Instagram story, utilizing interactive features such as polling and question boxes.

Abstract

Influencers can strengthen the effectiveness of advertising by consumers when they are considered to have good credibility, so they buy the product. The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between Tasya Farasya's credibility and the effectiveness of Maybelline product reviews as marketing communication strategy.  Previous study of Credibility Theory by Hovland Weiss found that audiences tend to give a higher level of approval when the source has a high reputation. There are two variables that will be measured, namely source credibility and review effectiveness. Source credibility is measured using the dimensions of attractiveness, trustworthiness, and expertise. Also, advertising effectiveness is measured using the dimensions of personal engagement and interactive engagement. The research used a survey-based explanatory quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 100 consumers of Maybelline products. The data obtained was processed using SPSS version 27 software, and analyzed by correlation. Research findings show that there is a significant and strong relationship between Tasya Farasya's credibility and the effectiveness of Maybelline product advertising. Therefore, it can be concluded that Tasya Farasya's credibility is able to strengthen the effectiveness of Maybelline product advertising.
