Abstract

Bentonite obtained from East Java is a Ca-Bentonite type which has been activated with H2SO4 20% based on the XRF results which showed CaO level of 4.15%. Bentonite can be reused after being applied as a coagulant and its based on the results of the Bentonite XRD diffractogram pattern before and after being applied as a coagulant that doesn’t have a significant change of 2q, including the 2q montmorillonite at 21,98? (516,42 cps), 35,47? (384,43 cps), 62,26? (100,66 cps) to 22? (436,22 cps), 35,47? (326,46 cps), 62,79? (65,79 cps) and 2q of quartz (SiO2) at 26,5? (607,56 cps) to 26,53? (537,65 cps). The optimum coagulation conditionsis when height of bentonite is 900 mg in 50 mL of liquid tofu waste pH 2, its can remove turbidity by 98% and TSS by 84.6%.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the impact of bank digitization on the financial performance of companies in the Indonesian banking sector. The study uses his three-year (2018-2020) panel data of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, covering 40 banks and 120 observations. Data were analyzed using panel data regression with a fixed effects model. The analysis tool used in this study is Eviews version 10. The results of this study show that the application of banking digitalization in the form of digital technology adaptation in banking firms has a negative impact on financial performance as measured by return on investment. These results highlight that the use of digital technology failed to improve the financial performance of Indonesian banks. As factual information, the study serves as the basis for decisions regarding the application of digital technology in banking companies. Investors are especially careful when investing in companies that use digital technology.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe the independent learning curriculum management model at Manado State University. Independent learning curriculum management is a form of curriculum management with the stages of planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. The results of the study show that the independent curriculum management model at Manado State University has been implemented according to management functions, namely planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating. Of the nine study programs sampled that met the requirements, there were four study programs with a curriculum management model that were close to fulfilling the management function, although there were system constraints that were not yet available regarding the synchronization of courses between study programs and menus for MBKM contracts. In addition, the constraints related to human resources are still low knowledge about the implementation of independent curriculum management and the low interest of students to participate in MBKM activities

Abstract

The quality of academic services is one of the determining factors for improving student learning outcomes in schools. This study aims to explain and predict the model of academic service quality in Adventist Schools in North Sulawesi Province. This study uses a quantitative approach and survey methods. The sampling technique for this research was randomly selected and totaled 172 teachers spread over eight Adventist schools in North Sulawesi Province. The research data were collected using a questionnaire technique and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling technique based on Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with smartPLS 3.0 software. The results showed that the principal's managerial competence, compensation, and teacher performance had a direct and significant positive effect on the quality of academic services. While the role of the school committee has a direct negative and insignificant effect. In addition, teacher performance mediates the effect of principal's managerial competence on the quality of academic services. Meanwhile, the influence of the role of the school committee and the provision of compensation on the quality of academic services is not mediated by teacher performance. The results of the research that describe the academic service quality model in this study are discussed and conclusions are drawn. After that, suggestions were made for programs to improve the quality of academic services and future research efforts.

Abstract

Laor worms (Lysidice oela) are worms that appear on the surface of the Maluku sea to reproduce in March or April. Laor worms are usually consumed by most people because they contain 13.92% protein, 81.51% water, 1.01% fat, and 2.41% ash and contain 9 types of essential amino acids. Secondary metabolite compounds (bromophenol) from marine worms are antimicrobial. This research aimed to determine the potential of secondary metabolites in inhibiting the growth of E. coli bacteria and to determine the secondary metabolites contained in laor worms. Laor worm is extracted maceration with ethanol, ethyl acetate and petroleum ether. The results of each extract were tested for antibacterial activity using the disc diffusion method with variations in concentrations of 25, 50, 75, 100, and 125 mg/mL against E. coli bacteria. The results of the extract which had the highest antibacterial activity were then tested for phytochemicals, then separated using TLC, and identified active compounds using UV-Vis spectrophotometers and their functional groups using FT-IR spectrophotometers. The results showed that laor worm extract could inhibit the growth of E. coli bacteria with an inhibition zone area of ??13.4 mm for ethanol extract; 14.8 for ethyl acetate extract and 12.6 mm for petroleum ether extract. The phytochemical test showed that the ethyl acetate extract of la worms contained flavonoids, saponins, steroids, triterpenoids, and alkaloids. Identification using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer obtained ?max was 203 nm which showed steroid compounds. The identification of active compounds using an FTIR spectrophotometer shows the functional groups O-H, C = O, C-C, C-OH primary, and C-H which are thought to be steroid compounds.

The implementation of digital taxation has a positive and beneficial impact on taxpayers and tax officers in the form of effectiveness such as the availability of e-tax services, in accessing which can be done anytime and anywhere. This study aims to present a literature review on Building Blocks in Tax Administration. The study focuses on the definition of research questions outlining problems, therefore, research questions are formulated, characteristics of respondents, problems solved, results obtained and constraints detected by implementing Building Blocks in Tax Administration. The results obtained by implementing Building Blocks in Tax Administration are as a form of identifying groups of individuals, companies and governments to increase tax compliance and to reduce tax evasion, create models and be able to design models related to increasing taxpayer compliance in paying taxes.

Abstract

Company management based on Good Corporate Governance (GCG) principles is an effort to make GCG a rule and guideline for company managers in carrying out their business activities. Corporate governance is also an essential element of driving performance; many studies have proven that corporate governance affects the company’s performance. Implementing the principles of GCG in the management of the company is very important because it guides the company to make decisions appropriately and responsibly and the management of the company to be healthier, thereby increasing the company’s value. This study aimed to analyze corporate governance in Subsidiaries State owned subsidiaries that are incompatible with the core business by using normative juridical research methods, with the data source being secondary data obtained by library research. In secondary data used primary legal material in the form of statutory regulations, secondary legal material in the form of literature related to this research. Based on the research results, the concept of governance of Subsidiaries State owned subsidiaries that do not suit the core business, in general, has not been going well due to the establishment of a subsidiary to pursue profit. If the Good Corporate Governance mechanism does not function properly in the company, this can reduce the company’s value and lead to poor company performance and even loss. If the principles of Good Corporate Governance are appropriately implemented in subsidiaries that do not suit the core business.
