Abstract

ABSTRAK Keduang merupakan Sub DAS terluas antara enam DAS yang menjadi catchment area waduk Gajah Mungkur. Sub DAS Keduang merupakan DAS terbesar kontribusi tingkat sedimen. Tingkat sedimentasi dan erosi yang tinggi disebabkan karena pengelolaan sumberdaya alam yang tidak tepat. Kesalahan pengelolaan sumber daya alam terutama vegetasi, tanah dan air di wilayah daerah aliran sungai (DAS) yang tidak tepat akan mengakibatkan kemerosotan mutu dan daya dukung sumber daya setempat (on-site) dan kerugian lain di wilayah hilirnya (off-site). Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan konservasi dengan pendekatan vegetatif untuk menekan degradasi DAS.Teknologi vegetatif (penghutanan) sering dipilih karena selain dapat menurunkan erosi dan sedimentasi di sungai-sungai juga memiliki nilai ekonomi (tanaman produktif) serta dapat memulihkan tata air suatu DAS. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey dan pemodelan. Sampel data vegetasi diambil dari 5 kecamatan  di wilayah Sub DAS Keduang secara random. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis secara kualitatif. Pengelolaan secara vegetatif merupakan teknologi konservasi tanah dan air yang efektif untuk menekan degradasi (erosi dan sedimentasi) di Sub DAS Keduang. Kata kunci : Sub DAS Keduang, Degradasi DAS, Konservasi Pendekatan Vegetatif.

Abstract

One effort to improve college student metacognition through the development model of learning by constructivism approach the model of learning Reciprocal Teaching Pair Share (rtPS). RtPS learning model adopted from a blend of learning model Think Pair Share and Reciprocal teaching. The parameters for success by improving metacognition. The purpose of this research is to develop a learning model rtPS to improve student metacognition in microbiology course at the Teachers' Training College Budi Utomo. The research model of development used in this research is the development model 4D of Thiagarajan (1974). The 4D model has four stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Large-scale field trials using quasi-experimental. Testing the validity of data analysis techniques using Pearson correlation method according bivarian. Assessment of the effectiveness of product development conducted field trials involving three classes for large-scale testing. Testing differences in acquisition value aspects of metacognition capability in Teachers' Training College Budi Utomo Malang analyzed using General Linear Model (GLM) - Multivariate.The results showed that the development model of rtPS eligible for use in the learning activities. In large-scale trial can be concluded that the model rtPS ABILITY effect on students' metacognition. Besides the development of models rtPS effective in improving metacognitive abilities of students in the course of microbiology at the Teachers' Training College Budi Utomo Malang

Abstract

Has  been done research that aims to figure out the character of assessment problem solving skillsof high school student.  the assessment problem solving was designed such that the results would describe the degree to which students are able to confront, structure, represent and solve the problems effectively.  Data were taken through test technique and qualitative analysis done by the assessment expert.  Quantitative datawere takenfromstudents' responseson the testsof problem solving while qualitative datawere taken from the resultsof qualitative analysis. The data were analyzedqualitativelyincludes ofthe construction, materialandlanguage.  Quantitative data analysis used   percentage formula which includes the difficulty index and the discriminating index.  According to the result and discussion of the data analysis, it can be included that the arranged assessment was problem solving skills on senior high school students especially in the environment material.   The Assessment constructed by 18 problem solving skills indicators thatconsistsoftwocases.  Each of casas consits of 18 item and the students were given 60 minutes to do the best.  The final result of the first case are 77,7% item were accepted, 16,7% item were revised and 5,6% item were rejected.  While for second case 100% item were accepted, 0% item were revised and 0% item were rejected.Keywords: assessment, problem solving skills

Abstract

The aim of this research were to increase the ability of logical thinking and decrease students’ misconception in SMAN Kebakkramat throught applying Problem-Based Learning based e-Module. This research is classroom action research that consist of two cycles. Every cycle consists of four phases, they are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of the research was students of class X3 of SMAN Kebakkramat. They are 16 boys and 26 girls. Validity of data uses data triangulation technique. Collecting data techniques are test, observation, and interview. This research was descriptive qualitative. The result shows that students’ misconception decrease. The percentage of misconception in each cycles are 65,57% at pre cycle, 53,63% at first cycle, and 27,47% at second cycle (all aspects of ecology concepts). Those concepts are attribute aspect in population, attribute in community, food chain and food webs, SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) aspect in ecology context. The percentage of logical thinking ability in each cycles are 37,27% at pre cycle, 51,26% at first cycle, and 60,25% at second cycle (in all aspects: generalisation aspect, analogy aspect, causal relation aspect, hypotetic silogisme, categorial silogisme, alternative silogisme and entimem). The conclusion of this research was application of Problem-Based Learning based on e-Module increased the ability of logical thinking and decreased student’s misconceptions.Keywords: Problem Based Learning based E-Module,  misconception, and logical thinking skill

Abstract

Eksplorasi dan kajian potensi mikroba endofit dari hutan tropis menjadi fokus penting dalam usaha pencarian sumber senyawa bioaktif antimikroba berbasis bahan alam seiring  dengan makin meningkatnya resistensi bakteri  terhadap antibiotik yang ada sekarang. Salah satu jenis tumbuhan inang yang unik dan spesifik bagi  mikroba endofit yang potensial sebagai penghasil senyawa bioaktif adalah tanaman cengkeh (Syzigium aromaticum) L.Merry  & Perry var Afo II yang tumbuh di pulau Ternate dan telah berumur  lebih dari  100 tahun. Keberadaan cengkeh afo II yang hanya satu individu tersebut (langka) suatu saat akan mati dan punah baik karena faktor usia maupun faktor alam, mengingat Pulau Ternate berada di wilayah gunung Gamalama yang masih aktif. Dengan demikian, akan mati dan punah juga mikroba endofit dalam tanaman tersebut. Mengingat peran dan potensi mikroba endofit yang sangat besar, terlebih lagi jika endofit tersebut diisolasi dari substrat yang spesifik seperti cengkeh afo II dari Ternate, maka ekplorasi dan konservasi mikroba endofit dari tanaman tersebut menjadi sangat urgen untuk dilakukan agar setiap saat dapat digunakan dan dikembangkan untuk berbagai bidang baik kesehatan, pertanian maupun industri.  Kata kunci:  eksplorasi, potensi, konservasi, Syzygium aromaticum L Merr&Perry var.Afo II

Abstract

This research is quasi experimental research. The research design used posttest only group design. General population is all science students of class X SMA. The research sample are the students of X-MIPA SMA as the first experiment group (the applied of Guided Discovery Learning model) that contains 30 students and X MIPA 2 as the second experiment group (The applied of Jigsaw Cooperative fused by experiment) that contains 30 students. The sampling method that used was the cluster sampling. The collecting data method used  essay test for measuring student’s science process skill, observation list for evaluate syntax model activity, and school documents. Validity test that used was coefficient formula Product moment by Karl Pearson and reliability test that used was Alfa Cronbach formula. Prerequisite test analysis consisted of normality test and homogeneity test. Normality was analyzed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and homogeneity was analyzed by Levene’e test. The result was showed that all groups were in normal distribution and homogeneous data. The analysis data used t test with significance level 0,05. Hypothesis test by using t test showed that signification value was 0,000 < 0,05  so H0 is rejected, it means that there is a significant difference of Science Process Skills ability between the first experiment class and the second experiment class. The post test average score of the first experiment is 57,17 and the second experiment is 68,8. Based on that result, it is concluded that Jigsaw Cooperative Model fused by experiment give more significant influence toward student’s science process skill compared to Guide Discovery Learning Model

Abstract

The study of mophology, morphometry and alometry of Uca perplexa, one of fiddler crabs that dominated at mangrove vegetation in Pulau Baii of Bengkulu have been conducted. We measured morphometric characters including body weight and sizes of carapace, abdomen, chelae, frontal, eyebrow and eye stalk. The result showed Uca perplexa live at sandy mud substrate and made burrow around mangrove roots. Uca perplexa have back carapace with some horizontal white strips. Carapace was acute and straight at anteriolateral part and rounded at dorsolateral. Their foot color usually brown although some of them were grey, were also found. The male (2.4±0.96 g) has higher of body weight than female (0.77±0.23 g) caused by dimorphism of chelae in male. Carapace width of male and female were 14.74±4.42 mm and 10.42±3.24 mm, respectively. As for abdomen width of male was 5.16±1.61 mm and of female was 6.58±1.38 mm. The length of major chelae was 44.66±9.22 mm as minor chelae was 10.50±0.49 mm. The frontal length of male was 3.44± 0.44 mm as for female was 2.83±0.69 mm. The eyebrows were narrow with eye stalks length for male and female were 6.50±2.46 and 4.20±0.92, respectively. Alometric analysis showed that Uca perplexa either male or female has growth pattern with negative alometry (b<3). It suggest the increase of body weight in Uca perplexa is slower than the increase of size of its carapace, abdomen and chelae. Keywords : Uca perplexa, fiddler carb, morphometry, alometry, bengkulu

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui  perbedaan hasil belajar biologi antara pembelajaran kooperatif  two stay two stray  (TSTS) dan think pair share  (TPS)pada siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Kartasura Sukoharjo tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian true eksperimen dengan post test design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 2 Kartasura. Kelas yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dipilih tiga kelas secara acak (random). Kelas pertama VIIA menerapkan pembelajaran think pair share, kelas kedua VIIC menggunakan pembelajaran two stay two stray, dan kelas ketiga menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional  (ceramah). Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran soal, daya beda soal dan untuk pengujian hipotesis dengan anova satu jalan (one way anova). Hasil nilai rata-ratapost test siswa menggunakan pembelajaran think pair share sebesar 80,56 lebih baik daripada pembelajaran two stay two  stray sebesar 78,20 dan  pembelajaran  konvensional sebesar 76,89. Hasil uji hipotesis terlihat bahwa nilai Fhitung  (7,560) lebih besar dari FTabel  (3,082), maka H0 ditolak sehingga terdapat perbedaan antara ketiga pembelajaran yang diterapkan antara pembelajaran two stay two stray, think pair share dan konvensional. Hasil uji lanjut anova pembelajaran TSTS dan TPS 0,016< 0,05, maka H0 ditolak jadi terdapat perbedaan. Perbandingan pembelajaran TPS dan kontrol 0,000<0,05, maka H0 ditolak maka terdapat perbedaan. Perbandingan pembelajaran TSTS  dan kontrol 0,175>0,05, maka H0  diterima jadi tidak ada perbedaan. Nilai aspek afektif yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa nilai pembelajaran TPS lebih tinggi dari nilai pembelajaran TSTS  dan konvensional. Kesimpulan yang dapat  diambil dari penelitian ini yaitu  pembelajaran TPS dengan nilai rata-rata 80,56 lebih baik daripada pembelajaran TSTS dengan nilai rata-rata 78,20. Abstract

ABSTRAK Dalam usaha memperbaiki kualitas pembelajaran Konsep Dasar IPA tentang Tata Surya adalah dengan memilih metode yang sesuai dengan sifat materi pembelajaran tersebut. Diantaranya dengan metode Survey, Question, Read. Recite, and Review (SQ3R). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) Mendiskripsikan penerapan metode SQ3R dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Konsep Dasar IPA tentang Tata Surya pada Mahasiswa Program Studi S1 PGSD FKIP UNS dan (2) untuk mengetahui adanya peningkatan hasil belajar Konsep Dasar IPA tentang Tata Surya dengan menerapkan metode SQ3R pada Mahasiswa Program Studi S1 PGSD FKIP UNS Surakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan system spiral atau siklus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa Program S1 PGSD Kampus Kebumen Semester 2 Tahun Akademik 2011 sebanyak 37 Mahasiswa (1 kelas). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif, meliputi (1) reduksi data, penyajian data dan (3) penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Berdasarkan pembahasan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Penerapan metode SQ3R yang dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Konsep Dasar IPA tentang Tata Surya adalah dengan langkah-langkah (a) Survey dari berbagai macam sumber informasi, (b) Question dengan cara diberi pertanyaan-pertanyaan, (c) Read membaca buku sumber untuk menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang kemudian dipresentasikan dengan menggunakan metode simulasi dan media aphron, (d) Recall dengan membuat peta konsep, (e) Review dengan membuat resume atau rangkuman. Peningkatan proses pembelajaran Konsep Dasar IPA tentang Tata Surya meliputi aspek kerja sama, keaktifan, kesungguhan, kreativitas dan antusias sehingga mewujudkan pembelajaran PAIKEM. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari nilai rata-rata proses pada siklus I 75, pada siklus II 90 (peningkatan 15%). (2) Penerapan metode SQ3R dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar Konsep Dasar IPA tentang Tata Surya. Hal ini terlihat dari nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siklus I 73 dan siklus II 83 (peningkatan 10%).   Kata Kunci: Kualitas Pembelajaran, Tata Surya, Metode SQ3R.

Abstract

The research aims to increase students' engagement in Biology learning by applying cooperative learningmethod specifically peer teaching. The subjects consisted of 32 high school students focusing on LowAchievement (LA) and High Achievement (HA) students. This research is classroom action research (CAR)with 3 Cycles. The research procedure includes the stage of reflection, planning, implementation of action andobservation. Behavioral Engagement (BE) data obtained through observation, other data in the form ofPsychological Engagement (PE) and Cognitive Engagement (CE) obtained through student engagementquestionnaire based on Student Engagement Instrument (SEI). Technique of data validation used istriangulation technique. Technique of analysis data performed by data reduction, data presentation and drawingconclusions based on qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that cooperative learning methodspecifically peer teaching can increase student engagement in biology learning. The average percentage of allBE aspects observed in LA students before the treatment given, Cycle I, Cycle II and Cycle III respectivelywas 13.72%; 35.24%; 48.26% and 64.24% respectively. Meanwhile BE results of HA students before thetreatment given, Cycle I, Cycle II and Cycle III respectively were 22.22%; 48.97%; 56.6% and 64.76%respectively. The results of PE of LA students before the treatment given to Cycle III increased by 3.54% whilePE in HA students before the treatment given to Cycle III increased from 3.75%. The result of CE analysis ofLA students has increased before the treatment given toward Cycle III that is 2.94% while in HA studentsincreased by 2.95%.
