Interdisciplinary Social Studies
nterdisciplinary Social Studies (ISS) is an interdisciplinary publication of social studies and writing which publishes papers to international audiences of social researchers. ISS aims to provide a forum for scholarly understanding of social studies and plays an important role in promoting the process that accumulated knowledge, values, and skills are transmitted from one generation to another; and making methods and contents of evaluation and research in social, available to socialist and research workers. The journal encompasses a variety of topics, including education, management, cultural studies, law, social health, psychology, and geography, to economics belonging to the social context. Papers accepted: 1) Report evaluation and original research; 2) Literature review; and 3) An extensive book reviews section on social materials and equipment.

Background: The rising of the inflation had triggered to need to choose the right investment to beat the inflation. The study will focus on the potential impact in investing in diversified stock portfolio within the stock market exchange in Bursa Malaysia. Aim: The goal of the research is target to understand the potential existence of the positive correlation and relationship between the KLSE market index and the inflation rate through the CPI. Method: The quantitative analysis method will be conducted to study the historical data based on the past 20 years’ trend of data from both inflation rate through CPI as well as the KLSE market index. The average yearly growth for the past 20 years performance will also be assessed to understand the comparison on the growth of the inflation and market index. Findings: The findings had observed that the investment for the portfolio investment representing through the KLSE market index had not been sharing the significant positive correlation and relationship with the inflation rate on CPI. However, the growth rate on average had obsvered higher rate of return on KLSE market index which is 5.666% over the inflation rate through CPI that recorded only 2.018% indicating that the investment in diversified stock portfolio will obsvered greater return to cover for the inflation rate in Malaysia.

Background: The competitiveness of Lombok Island as a tourist destination is an interesting research topic because there has been no research that examines it. Until now, knowledge about the factors that determine the competitiveness of Lombok Island as a tourist destination has not been widely disclosed to public spaces. On the other hand, the phenomenon of the competitiveness of Lombok Island as a tourist destination is believed to be able to complement the existing model of competitiveness of tourist destinations by adding elements that are local-special-narrow. Aim: This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Lombok Island as a tourist destination for domestic tourists based on the perspective of tourism actors. Method: Research on the competitiveness of tourist destinations in Lombok Island was carried out using a qualitative phenomenological approach. The research is aimed at obtaining meanings related to the determining factors of the competitiveness of Lombok Island as a tourist destination according to the perception of tourism actors on the island of Lombok. Findings: The result of this study is the acquisition of attributes related to the determining factors for the competitiveness of Lombok Island as a tourist destination. The competitiveness of Lombok Island as a tourist destination is determined by four attributes, namely (1) natural attributes, (2) attributes that can be created, (3) supporting attributes, and (4) reinforcing attributes. The four attributes obtained in this study form a framework for the competitiveness of Lombok Island tourist destinations which are specific only to the island of Lombok.

Background: Indonesia is infected with COVID-19 in late 2019. Due of the virus's spreading nature, people are likely to reduce direct social interaction and purchase goods, items, and daily requirements online via social media, E-commerce, and Mobile Apps. While the prospect of a global pandemic is horrifying, it may be a chance for businesses to entice customers with visual banner ads on platforms like Instagram. Aim: The purpose of the following paper is to discuss the significance of the utilization of visual design (Online Banners), in addition to the significance of some other aspects, such as the credibility of the advertisement, the message appeal, and the interactivity within the context of online banner design, in terms of shaping and convincing the user's or consumer's intention to make a purchase during an online transaction. Method: The researchers used the quantitative approach. The respondents will be divided into one of four categories using probability sampling. Findings: Customers' purchase intentions on Instagram, one of the most popular social media platforms, are directly impacted by Online Advertising Visual Design. This is discovered through the mediation of Attitude Towards Advertising, which is an important aspect of advertising.

ackground: The Financial Services Sector significantly impacts Indonesia’s economic growth and resilience. The COVID-19 Pandemic has significantly affected the financial services sector. Therefore, the Inodesia Financial Services Authority (OJK), as the regulator of the financial services sector, needs to respond appropriately to the impact of the pandemic. The OJK established based on Law Number 21 of 2011, has the authorities, OJK has regional representative offices. One of them is OJK Southeast Sulawesi Province (OJK Sultra). Aim: Analize OJK Sultra’s efforts to achieve performance in facing the challenges of the pandemic are a form of implementing digital adaptive leadership and innovation management which have become phenomena that has been elaborated through 19 informants and 10 internal documents. Method: The phenomenological methodology is the researcher’s choice in elaborating on the practices and perspectives of the two phenomena in question. The researcher modifies the phenomenological methodology by combining historical concepts (experience) and hermeneutics with a period set at the researcher’s beginning, called Historical-Hermeneutic Phenomenology (Double Helix Phenomenology). This modified methodology also has an impact on the analytical technique that needs to be modified by combining the Colaizzi model data analysis with the technical analysis of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) into a Historical-Phenomenological Interpretation Analysis or Historic-Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (H-IPA). Findings: The research findings found eight elements for digital adaptive leadership and six elements for innovation management to achieve work unit performance during the pandemic successfully.

Background: Personal selling is direct communication between payees and potential representatives that leads to profitable deals, customer satisfaction, and human relationships. Meanwhile, perceived quality is a consumer's perception of the overall quality or superiority of a product or service in relation to consumer decisions, and purchasing decisions are individual activities that are directly related to purchasing decisions for products or services offered by sellers. Aim: This study aims to analyze the influence of personal selling on purchasing decisions due to consumer perceptions of the quality of Tupperware products in Jayapura Regency. Method: This research is a quantitative research involving 184 customers. The data were analyzed by path analysis using the AMOS Structural Equation Model (SEM) program. Findings: The results showed that personal selling had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions (cr = 2.709: p = 0.007), personal selling had a positive and significant effect on perceived quality (cr = 2.278: p = 0.023 :), perceived quality had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions (cr = 1.784: p = 0.044) and personal selling had a positive and significant indirectly effect on purchasing decisions through perceived quality (cr = 3.294: p = 0.003).

Background: Backlog issues were the main problems during the pandemic. Samarinda City Government is trying to overcome this by presenting affordable housing with the concept of the welfare state (wohlfahrtsstaat). However, this has not been realized, especially for the homeless and People with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS). Aim: This study aims to analyze the Samarinda City Government’s effort to overcome the backlog issue to fulfill the right to decent housing for PMKS. Method: This research used a juridical normative method by statute and a case study approach with legal sociological. Findings: The results show the housing rights fulfillment in Samarinda City has not been fulfilled as a crucial issue to mitigate the spread of Covid-19. The policy implications are still in conflict with constraints such as land availability and are not yet equity-oriented. It is necessary to synchronize policy arrangements with the fulfillment of rights through human rights conventions which are ratified by the Samarinda City Government on availability, affordability, and sustainability aspects.

Background: Today, education is more concerned with material and scientific issues than ethics, morals and morals. High decadence or moral decline indicates a moral crisis that is very concerning. Education should be able to touch various physical, spiritual, moral, ethical, psychological and physical aspects. Otherwise, education is like just a teaching, and nothing reaches students at all. Aim: This study aims to analyze the concept of akhlaq education according to K.H. Asy'ari in the book of Adab Al-Alim Wa Al-Muta’alim on students' behavior change. Method: The type of research that the author did was descriptive quantitative research. This research also involves a literature study approach to obtain deeper information about moral education in the book of Adab Al-Alim Wa Al-Muta'alim The source of data in research is the subject from which data can be obtained. Findings: All students in MAN 1 Bandar Lampung have actually applied good moral education to their teachers. However, on a number of indicators, there are still those who answer neutrally and are not even sure that they have implemented moral education.

Background: KMK 667/KM.01/2022 states that there are several areas for improvement in current conditions, such as government financial data that needs to be integrated and the absence of a single platform that provides comprehensive information and profiles of taxpayers/service users/payers. Some of these shortcomings may have a negative impact. Aim: This study aimed to analyze the impact of synergy on performance in the Ministry of Finance’s secondment program. Method: This study uses a positivism approach because it used theory as a starting point for research. The researcher’s position was outside the theory and the research object. The data and information collected were tested to confirm the research hypotheses. Literature studies were carried out by collecting and studying literature related to the themes and objects studied, such as books, journals, other research, articles, laws and regulations, official reports, and other supporting documents. The population in this study was 56 secondment teams scattered all around Indonesia in 2022, assessed by the monitoring and evaluation team and a census technique to have an accurate conclusion because all population members were included as the sample. Findings: The analysis resulted in the conclusion that synergy positively affects performance in the Ministry of Finance's secondment program. Good cooperation, feelings of mutual openness and mutual trust emerged among the participants of the secondment program because there was a common perception of a goal that needed to be achieved together.

Background: Songwriters use language in creative ways to create meaning and depth in a song because they want to convey a certain message or emotion. Songwriters use language to paint vivid images and evoke strong emotions in listeners. Aim: This research aims to provide a deeper understanding of how language can influence listeners' emotions and feelings through Olivia Rodrigo's musical artwork entitled Happier. Method: This study uses a qualitative research method with a language and literature analysis approach. The data collection technique is done by literature study. Findings: The results show that language is used to convey various emotions, including heartbreak, regret, and longing. The song lyrics are carefully crafted to create a specific emotional landscape that reflects the narrator's state of mind. In addition, the language used in the song reflects the cultural and social context in which it was created. The lyrics address issues such as social media comparisons, breakups, and the pressure to always be happy. Through the use of language, the song provides commentary on these issues and how they can affect one's emotional landscape.

Background: Kuwait is a major oil producer. The Oil and Gas Sector is a very complex and highly technical field that it is essential to have technical competencies. Aim: This paper explores the leadership skills of third-line leaders in the Kuwait oil and gas sector. Method: This paper addresses the leadership needs of the framework and how equipped are the third-line leaders in the oil and gas industry. Empirical evidence is collected by semi-structured interviews from the third-line leaders and the findings are presented. The sample size was 42 third-line leaders and data were collected through personal in-depth interviews. Findings: The Kuwaitisation (localisation) policy and Kuwaiti attitude towards wasta and tribalism could have led to ill-equipped third-line managers. Proper training to upgrade the skills is essential. The fourth industrial revolution and the digital age including the internet of things has only augmented the urgency in new skills training.
