Abstract

Falling is one of the most common physical problems that can cause morbidity and mortality in the elderly. There are various risk factors for falling, including age. In Indonesia, a person is considered elderly if they are more than or equal to 60 years old. Falls often occur in the elderly and can have an impact that affects the quality of life of the elderly concerned, the most common complication is fracture. Fracture is defined as a condition where there is continuity in the bone. This fracture can affect the daily activities of the elderly concerned and can cause dependency. It is estimated that the number of elderly people in Indonesia will continue to increase by around 450,000 people per year. Thus, in 2025 it is estimated that the number of elderly people will reach 34.22 million. Decreased body function in the elderly will result in impaired movement and function in the elderly. Decreased muscle strength due to the aging process will affect the functional abilities of the elderly, especially the ability in terms of mobility such as decreased walking speed, decreased body balance and increased risk of falling. This underlies that when a person's functional ability decreases, it can increase the risk of falling in that person.

Abstract

Baby massage is skin contact through the touch and affection of parents aimed at enhancing physical and psychological contact between the mother and the baby. Baby massage touch will stimulate the production of beta-endorphin hormones which will aid growth mechanisms and stimulate the production of oxytocin hormones while reducing the production of cortisol hormones, allowing babies and toddlers to become relaxed and calm, thus optimizing their development. The purpose of this research is to understand the knowledge of mothers of infants aged 0-1 years about baby massage. The research design used is descriptive with a Cross Sectional approach. The population in this study consists of all mothers of infants aged 0-1 years at the Posyandu RW 02 Sidomulyo Village, Semen District, Kediri Regency, totaling 26 respondents using total sampling. The research variable is the knowledge of mothers of infants aged 0-1 year about baby massage. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire, data processing involved editing, coding, scoring, tabulating, and presenting. The research results show that out of 26 respondents surveyed, the majority of respondents had sufficient knowledge, with 14 respondents (53.85%), good knowledge with 8 respondents (30.77%), and a small portion with inadequate knowledge, totaling 4 respondents (15.38%). Based on the research results above, it is expected to improve the knowledge of mothers of infants from sufficient knowledge to good knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to provide counseling from healthcare professionals about the importance of baby massage in supporting the growth and development of infants to mothers in their productive age.

Abstract

This case report describes the condition of ulnar nerve compression that occurs after closed reduction of elbow dislocation, which is a fairly rare complication but can cause upper limb dysfunction if not treated properly. In this case, it is emphasized the importance of making an accurate diagnosis through clinical and supporting examinations so that treatment can be given quickly and appropriately. A pinched ulnar nerve after dislocation can cause symptoms such as tingling, pain, and muscle weakness in the hand area innervated by the nerve. Therefore, this report not only highlights the process of identifying and diagnosing cubital tunnel syndrome, but also discusses the success of surgical intervention in the form of ulnar nerve release performed on the patient. In addition, more optimal results were also achieved through a planned postoperative immobilization and rehabilitation program, which helped accelerate the recovery of nerve function and reduce the risk of recurrence. Rehabilitation that includes range of motion exercises, muscle strengthening, and patient education are important factors in the overall healing process. Thus, this report provides a comprehensive overview of the importance of holistic treatment starting from diagnosis, operative measures, to rehabilitation in cases of cubital tunnel syndrome after elbow dislocation.

Abstract

Gentle birthis a calm, gentle and minimally traumatic birth method. Gentle birth utilizes all the natural elements in the mother's body. that when there is no fear of childbirth, then there will be no pain either. Fear will cause the arteries leading to the uterus to contract and tense, causing pain. When a mother feels relaxed, the muscles will relax and flex, the cervix can thin and open naturally during contractions and push the baby out easily. Gentle birth is a calm and peaceful labor process so that the mother's pain during childbirth can be much lighter. This study aims to determine the relationship between the Gentle birth process and decreased pain intensity at the Kasih Bunda Pratama Clinic in 2024. With a population and sample of 33 mothers giving birth to decreased pain intensity at the Kasih Bunda Pratama Clinic in 2024. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-square test. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between Gentle birth and a decrease in the intensity of labor pain by performing Gentle birth with a degree of significance (a) = 0.05 and df = 1, the calculation results are Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 <(a) = 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between gentle birth and a decrease in the intensity of pain. It is expected that pregnant women will be more active in carrying out gentle birth in an effort to reduce pain during labor.

Abstract

Therapeutic communication is communication that is designed and planned in order to foster a relationship between midwives and patients in order to adapt to stress, prevent psychological disorders, so that patients can feel comfortable, which ultimately accelerates the patient's healing process. If the midwife is lacking in providing good communication, and the mother is less confident in her labor, then a sense of fear arises so that the pain will increase. Labor pain is caused by many factors, ranging from the muscles in the uterus, the presence of muscles that lack oxygen or hypoxia due to contractions, the process of dilation and thinning of the cervix, the uterine corpus experiencing ischemia, and stretching or dilation. This study used the chi square test with a cross-sectional study design and was quantitative. The sample in this study was 29 mothers giving birth at the Hj. Erlianawati Clinic. The results of the analysis obtained a p value = 0.001 (p <0.05), this shows that there is a significant relationship between therapeutic communication and the intensity of labor pain in the first stage. Therapeutic communication affects the reduction in the intensity of labor pain.

Abstract

Mental health is an important part of public health that requires special attention, especially in the context of primary services such as health centers. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the role of BPJS Kesehatan in improving access to mental health services in Indonesia through a systematic literature review of selected articles from electronic databases (Google Scholar, PubMed, SpringerLink). The results of the study show that BPJS plays an important role in expanding access and reducing treatment costs by up to 50%, as well as supporting the successful rehabilitation of patients with mental disorders by 60%. However, challenges still arise from the lack of professionals, the length of waiting time, to the limited understanding of participants regarding the scope of services. Therefore, improvements are needed in the aspects of cost management, capacity building of health workers, strengthening coordination between agencies, and socialization to the community. These findings provide important input for efforts to optimize the national health social security system in facing the challenges of mental health services.

Abstract

The implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is crucial in the manufacturing industry, including the brick molding process, given the high potential for hazards that can disrupt operations and workers' well-being. Although previous research has analyzed hazards in similar industries, there has been no comprehensive study applying the HIRARC method to all stages of the brick molding process in Tungkaran Village, Martapura. This study aims to identify, assess, and control OSH risks based on the OSH Risk Management guidelines for ASEAN SMEs. A qualitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through direct observation and structured interviews with 5 respondents. The HIRARC analysis identified 40 potential hazards. A total of 10% were categorized as high risk, 82.5% as moderate, and 7.5% as low. The highest risks were found in the raw material measuring, mixing, transportation, and brick arrangement stages. Other significant hazards include dust exposure, non-ergonomic work postures, and an untidy work environment. The brick molding process has a significant level of OSH risk. Comprehensive control through the use of PPE.
