Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic and infectious disease that is still a global concern. The bacterium that causes tuberculosis is the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The high incidence of tuberculosis is due to the rapid spread of bacteria caused by the easy transmission of the disease, namely through the droplet nucleus containing Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis morbidity and mortality is a serious problems, especially due to the emergence of side effects of Anti Tuberculosis Drugs (OAT). most sufferers feel unable to tolerate the side effects of OAT experienced during the treatment process. This study aimed to determine the side effects felt by patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who used antituberculosis drugs. The most widely used method is the descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach with different data collection. The results showed that side complaints caused by OAT ranged from mild effects: nausea, abdominal pain, joint pain, tingling, and red urine to severe side effects, namely respiratory syndrome (shortness of breath), itching, and redness of the skin, deafness, jaundice. without other causes, visual disturbances, and vomiting.

Abstract

Amphetamines and ephedrine are stimulant class doping drugs which have the effect of reducing fatigue and drowsiness, increasing alertness, physical strength, mental sense of competition and competitive attitude. Analysis of doping drugs in urine that has been recommended by the International Olympic Committee, including Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. Derivatization is carried out to change the polarity of the analyte, making it easier to become a gas and stable to heating. This study was conducted for qualitative analysis of amphetamine and ephedrine, using an HP5MS column containing non-polar phenyl methyl siloxane, temperature 100-250oC with a temperature increase of 10oC/minute. Then it was extracted with a mixture of diethyl ether-ethylacetate (1:1) in an alkaline medium pH 8, the organic layer was evaporated then derivatized with trifluoro-acetic acid-anhydride and ephedrine with acetic-anhydride-pyridine (3:2). The final results showed that the retention times of amphetamine and ephedrine were 10.47 and 4.9 minutes. While the derivatives are 13.34 and 5.50 minutes. Identification using mass spectrometry for each compound showed that the mass spectra matched the Ref. and the amphetamine and ephedrine structural similarity index was 96% and the detection limit for each compound was 2 ug/ml.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization, the prevalence of stunting becomes a public health problem if the prevalence is more than 20%. The number of nutritional status in Indonesia who experienced stunting in 2007 was around 36.8%, in 2013 it increased by about 37.2% and in 2018 it decreased by about 30.8%. Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five as a result of malnutrition so that children become too short for their age. Malnutrition can occur since the baby is in the womb and in the early days of the child's birth, but only appears after the child is 2 years old, where the nutritional state of the mother and child is an important factor in the child's growth (Rahayu A, 2018). The research method is descriptive analytic with a cross sectional approach (used is an analytical survey with a design objective). The statistical test used was the chi-square test. Through data analysis with statistical tests using the chi-square test with 68 children operating, the results of the study of children who were not exclusively breastfed were almost half of them, namely 28 children (41.2%) with stunting, while according to the data on children who were exclusively breastfed there were 9 children. (13.2%). From the test results, the p-value = 0.083 > 0.005 means that there is no significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of stunting in children aged 7-60 months in the Padang Laweh Health Center Working Area in 2022

Abstract

The 2019 corona virus infection (COVID-19) pandemic is a problem that is being faced in more than 200 countries in the world. The number of deaths from COVID-19 also increased to 33,673 in the world. The number of positive cases of COVID-19 worldwide has reached 1,936,700 people. Comorbid hypertension and diabetes mellitus, male gender, and active smoking are risk factors for SARS-Cov-2 infection. The purpose of this study was to determine the host determinants (age, sex and comorbidities) in the death of Covid-19 patients in the hospital. Wahidin Sudirohusoso, Makassar City. This study uses a quantitative approach with a case control research design using secondary data sources from medical record data. Data analysis was carried out by univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis. The population in this study were all Covid-19 patients diagnosed and receiving treatment at RSUP Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo. The minimum required sample size for each case-control group is 68, with a ratio of 1:1. The results of the OR calculation showed that respondents aged 46 years had 5,958 times more deaths due to Covid-19 compared to the age group <46 years (95% CI 2,817-12,6042,817-12,604). The results of the Chi Square test show that there is no significant relationship between gender and the death of Covid-19 patients (P Value 0.195), so that respondents with male sex do not necessarily experience death from Covid-19 compared to female sex. The results of the OR calculation show that respondents who have comorbidities are 38,400 times more likely to die from Covid-19 than respondents who do not have comorbidities (95% CI 38,400 (12,319-119,694)). The variable that was significantly related to the death of Covid-19 patients was comorbidity with an OR of 3.648, meaning that Covid-19 patients with comorbidities had 3. There is a significant relationship between age and comorbidities with the death of Covid-19 patients and there is no significant relationship between gender and the death of Covid-19 patients. The results of the multivariate analysis showed that the variable that was significantly related to the death of Covid-19 patients was comorbid with an OR of 3.648. The active role of health workers is to carry out the socialization of Covid-19 prevention, so that it is hoped that the community will be able to take preventive measures and can reduce the death rate due to Covid-19.
