Abstract

Papaya is a tropical plant from the Caricaceae family, botanically defined as Carica papaya L. Traditional use of papaya leaves is to prevent bleeding in wounds and to treat wounds, lower high blood pressure, treat dengue fever, eliminate acne and smooth the skin and digestive disorders. Staphylococcus epidermidis is a Gram-positive bacterium, immobile, non-sporing, in solid culture media in the form of cocci in irregular groups, the arrangement is similar to grapes, prominent, shiny, does not produce pigment, white in color. Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria can cause swelling (abscess) diseases such as acne, skin infections, urinary tract infections and swelling of the kidneys. This study was conducted with the aim of knowing the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract of papaya leaves (Carica papaya L) with concentrations of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% against the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. This research method used an experimental method, namely to determine the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract of papaya leaves (Carica papaya L) against the growth of Staphylococus epidermidis bacteria. This research used 96% ethanol as solvent. The test was carried out through several stages including material collection, preparation of simplicia, manufacture of ethanol extract from papaya leaves by maceration and testing of antibacterial activity against Staphylococus epidermidis bacteria. Based on the results of the phytochemical screening test of the thick extract, papaya leaves contain a class of alkaloid compounds, flavonoids, saponins, steroids/triterpenoids and tannins. The results of the antibacterial activity test of thick papaya leaf extract against Staphylococus epidermidis bacteria had an average inhibitory activity at concentrations of 5% (7.33 mm), 10% (8.44 mm), 15% (9.44 mm) and 20 % (10.3mm). As a comparison, Cloramfenocol 30 g was used to produce an inhibitory power of 32.1 mm and the best results obtained were at a concentration of 20% which had an inhibitory power of 10.3 mm.

Abstract

NSAIDs (Non-Steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) are drugs that can treat pain and inflammation. The therapeutic effect of NSAIDs as anti-inflammatory analgesics is that they have the ability to inhibit the biosynthesis of prostaglandins which are pain mediators. This prostaglandin has a major role in inhibiting the COX enzyme (cyclooxygenase) in which COX has two isoforms, namely COX1 isoenzyme (non-selective) and COX2 isoenzyme (selective). Tricyclic COX-2 selective inhibitors work by blocking COX-2. COX-2 binds to PD-L1 via the PGE2 pathway and affects macrophages in suppressing myeloid. COX-2 has functions including producing reactive oxygen species that are responsible for DNA damage, activating substances that deviate from intracellular pathways such as the MAPK and PI3 K/AKT pathways, activating STAT3, inducing Bcl-2, and producing growth factors including growth factors. epidermal (EGF)) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF).

Abstract

It is not a violation of the code of ethics for physiotherapists who wish to work in the field of occupational health and ergonomics, as the field of ergonomics requires knowledge of anatomy, anthropometry, physiology, and biomechanics, all of which are required knowledge for graduates of physiotherapy study programs. Under these circumstances, it can be said that physiotherapy is prepared and linear to work in the field of occupational health and ergonomics. This study aims to apply physiotherapy-based interventions to occupational health and ergonomics issues in stone crushers. This investigation is an experimental study employing the same subject design (treatment by subject design), which is comprised of Periods I and II. There were fourteen respondents to the study. On the dorsalis pedis artery, the 10-pulse method is utilized to calculate the workload. Hand and arm musculoskeletal complaints were measured using a 100mm visual analog scale. Wrist splints, short breaks of 5 minutes every 55 minutes of work, and stretching every 2 hours of work had no effect on reducing workers' pain complaints, but reduced their workload by 11,29 % significantly. There is a need for more specific research to determine whether workers suffer from more serious health issues or chronic diseases.
