Abstract

Stunting was a chronic nutritional problem that affected the growth and development of children in Indonesia. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia decreased from 24.4% in 2021 to 21.6% in 2022. However, this figure was still above the national target of 14%. The government implemented the Simultaneous Measurement and Intervention Movement to Prevent Stunting program to accelerate the reduction of stunting. This research aimed to describe the implementation of the Simultaneous Measurement and Intervention Program for Stunting Management in the Banguntapan III Public Health Center area. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with research subjects that included the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team, cadres, health teams, pregnant women, children aged 0-59 months, and prospective brides in the Banguntapan III Public Health Center working area. Data were collected through participatory observation and documentation, and analyzed narratively. The results showed that the implementation of the Simultaneous Measurement and Intervention Program for Stunting Management in the Banguntapan III Public Health Center had been optimal but required improvements in several areas. Despite good coordination, the target number achieved was only 99.12%. Data showed an increase in stunting cases after the program. In April, there were 24 cases of "Short" stunting, which increased to 37 in July, and cases of "Very Short" stunting increased from 0 to 3. Major obstacles included suboptimal toddler sweeping, ineffective cross-sectoral roles, and inadequate socialization. In-depth evaluation and strategy adjustments were necessary to enhance the program's effectiveness. It was recommended to improve toddler sweeping, increase cross-sectoral coordination, and strengthen program socialization through social media and community engagement to enhance the effectiveness of stunting management.

Abstract

Hypertension is a significant health concern among the elderly, often associated with psychological factors such as anxiety and insomnia. This study aims to investigate the relationship between anxiety, insomnia, and hypertension in older adults at Remaja Health Center in Indonesia. Utilizing an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach, 95 elderly participants were selected using stratified proportional random sampling. Data were collected through sphygmomanometer readings, the KSPBJ-IRS insomnia questionnaire, and the ZSAS anxiety questionnaire. The results were analyzed using Spearman's rank correlation test. The findings revealed a significant and strong correlation between anxiety and hypertension, with a p-value of 0.001 and a correlation coefficient of 0.335. Similarly, insomnia also showed a significant association with hypertension, with a p-value of 0.004 and a correlation coefficient of 0.291. These results indicate that higher levels of anxiety and insomnia are linked to increased hypertension among the elderly. This study underscores the importance of addressing psychological well-being and sleep quality in managing hypertension in older adults. Routine monitoring at elderly Posyandu and interventions aimed at reducing anxiety and improving sleep could potentially mitigate the risk of hypertension in this population. Future research should explore the underlying mechanisms linking these psychological factors with hypertension and evaluate the effectiveness of targeted interventions.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disorder characterized by an increase in blood glucose due to decreased insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells, disruption or insulin resistance. The rate of DM with comorbidities or complications is increasing, usually receiving more than three types of medication (polypharmacy). The potential for drug interactions in diabetes patients is still very common.  There were 186 potential drug interactions, with 16.2% potentially causing hyperglycemia and the remainder causing hypoglycemia. This can be caused by the large number of drugs that are often used (polypharmacy or multiple drug therapy). Objective: to identify potential oral antidiabetic drug interactions in screening polypharmacy prescriptions for type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in hospitals. Method: This research was conducted at one of the Jember Regency Hospitals. This type of research is descriptive research with retrospective data collection. The research sample was 80 using the Slovin formula with random sampling technique. Data analysis is displayed in the form of frequencies and percentages which are then processed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS. Results: In this study it was found that male patients were (38.8%) and female were (61.3%). The age group is dominated by patients 51 – 60 years old (42.5%). Polypharmacy consisted of at most 5 drugs (45.0%), drug interactions occurred in 65 prescriptions (81.3%) with the severity of drug interactions being moderate, 38 potential events (47.5%), major, 6 potential events (7.5%). %), minor 21 potential events (26.3%), and no interaction as many as 15 potential events (18.8%). Conclusion: This study found that the potential interactions for oral antidiabetic drugs in polypharmacy screening were mostly moderate interactions (47.5%) with 38 potential events.

Abstract

According to World Health Organization (WHO) data, approximately 18% of the world's population has experienced difficulty sleeping, it is estimated that around 20-50% of the elderly experience sleep quality problems. In Indonesia, around 50% of elderly people experience sleep disorders or 9.3 million elderly people aged 65 years. Meanwhile, the prevalence of sleep disorders in the elderly is quite high, namely around 67%, without realizing that these sleep disorders affect the quality of sleep in the elderly. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality. This research used a correlational type of research with a cross sectional approach, with a sample of 69 elderly people who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria using a purposive sampling technique. Based on univariate analysis, most of the 40 respondents (58%) experienced moderate levels of anxiety, and almost all of the 69 respondents, namely 56 respondents (81.2%) had poor sleep quality. Based on bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank test with data management using SPSS. The research results were obtained with a p-value = 0.041 <0.05, meaning that there is a relationship between the level of anxiety and the quality of sleep in elderly people in the western culture work area of the Sitiung 1 Health Center, Dharmasraya Regency in 2024. It can be concluded that the level of anxiety is very closely related to the quality of sleep, It is hoped that older people should not think too much about problems in their lives so that they do not have a high level of anxiety so they can have good quality sleep.

Abstract

Most mothers who give birth experience perineal injuries that can cause postpartum infections. The wound healing process is a series of body events that respond to damage to skin integrity through specific stages that overlap. The wound healing phase is divided into four three, namely the inflammatory phase, the proliferation or epithelialization phase, and finally the maturation or remodeling phase. After the three stages are passed, the healing process will occur and the wound tissue will heal as before. The speed or slowness of wound healing time varies for each postpartum mother because it is influenced by other factors that affect. Red betel infusion is known as one of the perineal wound care therapies that is easy to do, cheap, and safe to do, this technique also has an effect on healing perineal wounds and also contains high anti-infection. The study used the Quasy Experiment method with a Nonequivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. Sampling used a non-probability sampling technique with an accidental sampling approach, a sample of 38 was divided into two groups, namely the group given red betel infusion perineal care and the group not given red betel infusion perineal care. Researchers conducted daily wound development assessments on two groups until the wounds healed or for approximately 10 days using the Redness, Edema, Ecchymosis, Discharge, Approximation (REEDA) perineum scale observation sheet. Based on the results of the Mann Whitney test, a p-value of 0.001 was obtained, meaning there was a difference in the administration of red betel leaf infusion perineal care on the healing time of postpartum perineal wounds between the group given red betel leaf infusion and the group not given red betel leaf infusion.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship between the family history of people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DMT2) and the metabolic syndrome component in Medan City in 2023. Metabolic syndrome is a collection of conditions that increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, including central obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and insulin resistance. Data was collected through a survey of 400 respondents consisting of individuals with a family history of DMT2 and without a family history of DMT2. Statistical analysis uses logistic regression to determine the relationship between variables. The results showed that individuals with a family history of DMT2 had a higher likelihood of experiencing metabolic syndrome components compared to individuals without a family history of DMT2. These findings confirm the importance of screening and early intervention in individuals with a family history of DMT2 to reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome and related complications. This study suggests the need for more intensive health education and effective prevention programs for the people of Medan City.
