Abstract

A conducive learning environment is one of the main factors in building students' interest in learning, especially in Science subjects in elementary schools. This study aims to describe in depth the strategic role of teachers in fostering a conducive learning environment and analyze the impact on the learning interest of second-grade students in Science subjects at SRITI Al-Fateh Malaysia. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation are then analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which involves data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. The results of the study indicate that teachers play a strategic role in fostering a conducive learning environment by ensuring the classroom is neat, clean, and attractive through educational decorations and exploration corners with a Science theme. In addition, teachers use interactive learning media such as animated videos, simple experiments and giving rewards to increase students' enthusiasm, participation, and curiosity in Science lessons. Thus, the role of teachers in managing a comfortable, creative, and collaborative learning environment is effective in increasing students' interest in learning Science in second grade at SRITI Al-Fateh Malaysia.

Abstract

The School Operational Assistance Fund (BOS) is a government program that aims to improve the quality and accessibility of education through school operational funding. However, in practice, various irregularities in the management of BOS Funds continue to be found, with the potential to cause state financial losses and to violate the principles of accountability and transparency. The problem in this study is the forms of misuse of BOS Funds and the imposition of criminal liability on perpetrators under the provisions of criminal law in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the forms of misuse of BOS Funds, examine the criminal liability of perpetrators, and examine the application of the Corruption Eradication Law and the technical regulations governing the management of BOS Funds. The research method used is normative juridical, with a statutory approach, a case approach based on court decisions, and a review of relevant legal literature. The results of the study indicate that misuse of BOS Funds is generally carried out through mark-up practices, fictitious reports, noncompliant procurement, and deductions from funds by certain individuals. These actions satisfy the elements of criminal corruption, including abuse of authority, unlawful acts, and acts that enrich oneself or others at the expense of the state, resulting in state financial losses. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the need to strengthen the monitoring system, increase budget transparency, and implement strict criminal sanctions to prevent the recurrence of BOS Fund misuse.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a portable court line made from kapuak bark as a learning medium for physical education in badminton at MIS Istiqomah Entikong and SDN 20 Mabah in the border area of Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan. The method used is Research and Development (R&D), with the ADDIE model limited to three stages (Analyze, Design, Develop), because this study focuses on the development and assessment of prototype feasibility rather than measuring learning effectiveness. One physical education expert assessed product feasibility, one badminton court expert, and two PJOK teachers, who served as user respondents. Data analysis used the Percentage of Agreement formula (Grinnell, 1988). The results showed validation by physical education experts at 100% (Very High), by field experts at 60% (Moderate), and by PJOK teachers at 100% (Very High). The 60% score from field experts indicates that the product has not met the technical feasibility threshold and requires substantial revisions to material durability, line stability, and dimensional conformity with BWF standards. Further research with more validators and measurement of the impact on student learning outcomes is needed.

Abstract

Children with Down syndrome are at heightened risk of sexual abuse due to cognitive, communication, and social limitations, while self-protection education remains insufficiently integrated into special education practice. This study aims to examine the systematic implementation of the roleplay method in enhancing self-protection awareness against sexual abuse among children with Down syndrome. A qualitative case study design was employed in two special schools in Indonesia. Participants included students with Down syndrome, teachers, school principals, and parents. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that structured roleplay, implemented through careful planning, collaborative organization, guided simulation, and continuous evaluation, significantly improved students’ ability to recognize private body parts, differentiate between safe and unsafe touch, assertively refuse inappropriate behavior, and identify trusted adults to report to. Repetition and contextual variation of scenarios facilitated behavioral internalization and increased student confidence. The involvement of teachers, school leaders, and parents strengthened the intervention's sustainability and supported skill transfer beyond the classroom. This study contributes theoretically by integrating experiential learning principles with instructional management in special education contexts, and practically by offering a structured, replicable model for self-protection education. Roleplay emerges as an effective pedagogical strategy for promoting safety awareness and protective competencies among children with Down syndrome.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of classroom management functions in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) to create a conducive learning environment in elementary schools. A qualitative case study design was employed in two public elementary schools in Cianjur Regency, namely SDN Murnisari and SDN Dewi Sartika. The participants included two PJOK teachers, two school principals, and students, selected as supporting informants purposively for their involvement in the learning process. The study was conducted over three months from February to April 2025. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Data validity was ensured through triangulation of sources and techniques, member checking, and prolonged engagement. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the classroom management functions of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling were implemented systematically in both schools. However, differences influenced them in resource availability and institutional support. Teachers in resource-limited settings relied on adaptive strategies, while those in well-supported environments implemented more structured and varied learning approaches. This study contributes by providing a comprehensive understanding of how classical management functions are operationalized in PJOK learning and offers practical insights for developing inclusive and conducive learning environments in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management strategy for utilizing smart cities in religious education to optimize access and maintain the authenticity of the Qur'an through digital technology. The development of smart cities and digitalization in Indonesia presents significant opportunities for Islamic religious education, particularly for expanding the reach of learning and ensuring the authenticity of teachings through digital systems. The research method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of literature published between 2020 and 2025, focusing on integrating technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing to manage Qur'an education. The analysis results show that implementing digital management strategies can improve the efficiency of access, learning, and the verification of the authenticity of Qur'an manuscripts. However, challenges remain in the digital infrastructure gap, educators' readiness, and the need for policies and regulations to standardize digital religious content. The digital technologies used in this study include officially licensed products such as mobile Qur'an applications, cloud computing systems, and artificial intelligence, which ensure the security, authenticity, and quality of digital Qur'an learning. The practical implication of this research is the need for collaboration among government institutions, schools, and the community to develop an innovative, technology-adaptive religious education management system. This research contributes to the development of a smart-city-based religious education management model that can shape a generation of religious, tech-savvy, and virtuous Quranists in the smart-city era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze junior high school students' perceptions of the pedagogical superiority of printed and digital learning materials within a blended learning framework. The study used a quantitative descriptive survey design involving 30 students as respondents. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire that measured usage patterns, learning needs, and each medium's contribution to the learning process. The results showed that both types of media were perceived positively, but had different and complementary pedagogical functions. Print media was preferred to support concentration and intensive reading (Mean = 4.12), indicating its role in maintaining cognitive stability, strengthening conceptual understanding, and supporting in-depth reading. In contrast, digital media received a higher average score (Mean = 4.25) for motivation and learning engagement, attributable to interactivity, multimodality, and immediate feedback features. However, the effectiveness of digital media was moderated by structural factors, with 30% of respondents reporting connectivity constraints and device limitations as significant barriers. Another important finding was that 90% of students recommended the hybrid approach, indicating metacognitive awareness of diverse learning needs. Thus, this study concludes that modernizing junior high school learning is not effective when achieved through full digitization, but rather through adaptive instructional design that integrates the tactile consistency and conceptual depth of print media with the flexibility and interactivity of digital media, in a contextually and equitably integrated manner.

Abstract

Mastery of explanatory text writing requires students to organize ideas logically and to apply appropriate language features that reflect causal and sequential relationships. Nevertheless, many EFL students encounter difficulties in structuring explanatory texts and maintaining linguistic accuracy. Although Project-Based Learning (PjBL) has been widely reported to improve general writing performance, limited studies have specifically examined its impact on the generic structure and language features of explanatory texts at the senior high school level. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of PjBL in improving students’ mastery of explanatory text structure and language features. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed involving 35 eleventh-grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Maluku Tengah. Data were collected through writing tests assessed using an analytic rubric focusing on general statements, explanation sequences, concluding statements, and relevant language features. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired-sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ writing performance, indicated by an increase in the mean score from 64.31 to 73.63 and a rise in mastery achievement from 17% to 80%. The statistical result (p < 0.05) confirms that PjBL significantly enhances students’ ability to organize explanatory text structure and apply appropriate linguistic features. These findings suggest that PjBL is an effective instructional strategy for strengthening genre-based writing competence in EFL senior high school contexts.

Abstract

This article discusses the theological basis of religious moderation (al-Wasathiyah), which is sourced directly from the Qur'an and Hadith. Religious moderation is defined as a balanced (tawazun), just (i'tidal), and tolerant (tasamuh) religious attitude, while avoiding all forms of extremism (ghuluw) and neglect (tafrit). This research uses a descriptive method with a literature review approach, analyzing primary and secondary sources, including Qur'anic verses, hadith, tafsir books, academic books, and relevant journal articles. This concept is deeply rooted in the fundamental teachings of Islam and is not a newly emerged ideological compromise. Analysis of key verses, such as Q.S. al-Baqarah: 143, which refers to Muslims as ummatan wasathan (the middle people), and hadiths regarding the prohibition of ghuluw (excess), shows that wasathiyah is a fundamental identity of Muslims and a method of da'wah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The values ??of moderation emphasize the importance of justice (al-'adl), balance (tawazun), tolerance (tasamuh), and deliberation (shura). The application of wasathiyah is crucial in global and national contexts for building social harmony, combating radicalism, and addressing the spectrum of extreme religious understandings (radicalism to liberalism). In the educational context, religious moderation is integrated into Multicultural Islamic Education as a systematic effort to instill the values ??of the middle path (wasathiyah) to shape just, balanced, and tolerant students.

Abstract

Assessment plays a crucial role in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, as it not only measures student learning outcomes but also supports and enhances the quality of the learning process. In the context of modern education, assessment is expected to develop students' competencies holistically, encompassing the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Therefore, integrating Assessment as Learning (AaL), Assessment for Learning (AfL), and Assessment of Learning (AoL) approaches is crucial to creating a more meaningful, student-oriented PAI learning process. This study aims to analyze the concepts of AaL, AfL, and AoL and identify assessment development strategies that align with the characteristics of PAI learning. The method used is a literature review that analyzes relevant sources, including books, scientific journal articles, and prior research on assessment in Islamic Religious Education and learning. The results of the study indicate that AaL emphasizes self-reflection and active student involvement in the learning process; AfL serves as formative assessment, providing continuous feedback to monitor students' learning progress; and AoL serves as a summative assessment to evaluate learning outcomes at the end of the learning process. Furthermore, assessment development in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning can be achieved through authentic assessments, a values- and character-based approach, the use of learning technology, and integration with project-based learning. These strategies enable assessment to function not only as an evaluation tool but also as a means of enhancing students' understanding and developing character aligned with Islamic values.
