Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Reward System, Job Satisfaction, and Salary on Employee engagement  at PT. Deli Jaya Samudera Medan. This research used a quantitative approach with a population of 30 employees. The sampling technique used in this study was saturated sampling, in which all members of the population were selected as the research sample. The results of the study indicate that Reward System, Job Satisfaction, and Salary partially have a positive and significant effect on Employee engagement . A good Reward System can increase employees’ enthusiasm and engagement at work. High job satisfaction makes employees feel comfortable, loyal, and committed to the company. In addition, appropriate salaries can improve employees’ motivation and sense of responsibility in carrying out their work. Simultaneously, the three variables have a significant effect on Employee engagement, as evidenced by the Fcount value of 10.543, which is greater than the Ftable value of 2.92, with a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05. This means that Reward System, Job Satisfaction, and Salary together have a positive and significant effect on Employee engagement  at PT. Deli Jaya Samudera Medan. The coefficient of determination (R Square) value of 0.549 or 54.9% indicates that the variables of Reward System, Job Satisfaction, and Salary are able to explain the effect on Employee engagement  by 54.9%, while the remaining 45.1% is influenced by other variables outside this study, such as work environment, work motivation, leadership style, organizational culture, and other factors.

Abstract

Job analysis and job design are two essential aspects of organizational development that play a significant role in improving work effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity. This study aims to analyze the role of job analysis and job design in supporting organizational development. The research employs a literature review method by examining various relevant journals and scholarly references related to job analysis, job design, and organizational development. The findings indicate that job analysis serves as a foundation for identifying job duties, responsibilities, competencies, and qualifications required for each position, thereby supporting recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and career development processes. Meanwhile, job design contributes to creating a structured division of work, enhancing employee motivation, job satisfaction, and productivity through the design of jobs that align with organizational needs and individual capabilities. The integration of job analysis and job design strengthens organizational structure, improves human resource quality, facilitates organizational change, and enhances competitiveness in a dynamic environment. Therefore, the effective implementation of job analysis and job design serves as a crucial foundation for achieving sustainable organizational goals.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh komitmen organisasi, servant leadership, dan pelatihan pegawai terhadap kinerja pegawai pada Dinas Perhubungan Kotamadya Pematangsiantar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya kinerja pegawai yang diduga dipengaruhi oleh lemahnya komitmen organisasi, belum optimalnya gaya kepemimpinan yang melayani, serta belum memadainya program pelatihan pegawai. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain asosiatif. Populasi sekaligus sampel penelitian berjumlah 112 pegawai dengan teknik sampling jenuh atau sensus. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner skala Likert dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda, uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji asumsi klasik, uji t, dan uji F. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komitmen organisasi, servant leadership, dan pelatihan pegawai masing-masing berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai. Secara simultan, ketiga variabel juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai dengan nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0.752, yang berarti 75,2% variasi kinerja pegawai dapat dijelaskan oleh model, sedangkan sisanya 24,8% dipengaruhi faktor lain di luar penelitian. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penguatan komitmen organisasi, penerapan kepemimpinan yang melayani, dan peningkatan kualitas pelatihan merupakan langkah penting untuk meningkatkan kinerja pegawai secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The implementation of accounting systems plays a vital role in supporting the sustainability and decision-making processes of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). However, many bakery and cake businesses still experience limitations in applying accounting principles in accordance with established standards. This study aims to analyze the implementation of accounting systems in Bakery & Cake businesses in Binjai City and evaluate their conformity with basic accounting concepts and the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM). This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a census method involving 33 Bakery & Cake businesses operating in Binjai City. Data were collected through structured interviews, documentation, and direct observation, and subsequently analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The findings indicate that all business owners have carried out basic financial recording, particularly cash receipts and cash disbursements. However, most businesses have not implemented comprehensive accounting procedures, such as inventory recording, calculation of cost of goods sold, journal preparation, ledger posting, and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with SAK EMKM. Although business owners recognize the importance of accounting records for business management, limited accounting knowledge and skills remain significant barriers to proper implementation. Therefore, continuous accounting training and assistance are necessary to improve the quality of financial reporting and strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of Bakery & Cake MSMEs in Binjai City.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the climate village program as a local ecotourism opportunity in supporting green economic development planning. The research method used in this study is descriptive narrative research. The data analysis process used secondary data such as books and related journal articles. The research results show that converting the climate village program into a local ecotourism destination is a tactical and strategic step in green economic development planning. This approach successfully combines ecological interests through emission reduction and climate resilience with economic interests through community well-being in a harmonious manner. The climate village program is no longer viewed as a burdensome environmental program, but rather as a high-value economic asset that attracts the outside world while preserving the earth.

Abstract

Language style and emotional expression play significant roles in human communication because they reflect social relationships, communicative purposes, and psychological conditions. In sociolinguistics, language variation is influenced by social contexts and interactions among speakers. This study aims to analyze the types of language styles used by Christy Beam in Miracles from Heaven (2016) and to identify the emotional expressions reflected in her dialogues. The study focuses on the relationship between language style and emotional expression as represented through the main character’s interactions with family members, doctors, and other individuals. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data source was the movie Miracles from Heaven, directed by Patricia Riggen, while the data consisted of Christy Beam’s dialogues. Data were collected through repeated observation, transcription, classification, and interpretation based on Martin Joos’ theory of language styles and theories of emotional expression. The findings reveal that all five language styles proposed by Joos were present in the movie, namely frozen, formal, consultative, casual, and intimate styles. Consultative, casual, and intimate styles were the most dominant, each accounting for 26.67% of the total data. Furthermore, six types of emotional expressions were identified: anxiety, love/affection, anger, fear, happiness, and sadness. Anxiety emerged as the most dominant emotional expression, representing 33.97% of the data. The findings indicate that Christy Beam’s language choices are strongly influenced by social relationships, communication settings, and interaction purposes, while her emotional expressions reflect her psychological experiences as a mother struggling to support her daughter through a serious illness.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of beauty through linguistic expressions in the film The Ugly Stepsister (2025), directed by Emilie Blichfeldt. Beauty is considered a social and cultural construct influenced by societal values, media, and prevailing norms. In films, language functions as a medium for expressing attitudes, judgments, and perceptions of beauty. Therefore, this study aims to identify the linguistic expressions used to represent beauty and analyze how the characters use language to describe and evaluate beauty in the film. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a sociolinguistic approach. The data source consists of dialogues from The Ugly Stepsister that contain expressions related to beauty and physical appearance. The data were collected through watching the film, selecting relevant utterances, and transcribing the dialogues. The collected data were then analyzed using sociolinguistic theories to reveal the social meanings embedded in language use. The findings are expected to show that beauty is represented through various linguistic expressions, such as compliments, descriptions, comparisons, and evaluative judgments concerning physical appearance. These expressions reflect how beauty standards are socially constructed and communicated through language. The study is expected to contribute to the field of sociolinguistics, particularly in understanding the relationship between language, society, and the representation of beauty in media. Furthermore, the findings may serve as a reference for future researchers interested in language use and social representation in films.

Abstract

The development of online lending services as part of the digital financial ecosystem has increased public access to financing while simultaneously giving rise to various legal issues related to defaults and debtor protection. This study aims to analyze the forms of legal protection available to debtors who experience default in online loan contracts and to evaluate the effectiveness of the regulations governing such protection in the digital financial era. The research employed a qualitative approach using a normative juridical method supported by empirical data obtained through in-depth interviews with ten informants consisting of legal practitioners, academics, and users of online lending services. Data were collected through literature studies, interviews, and document analysis and were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The findings indicate that although Indonesia has established a relatively comprehensive legal framework, its implementation has not been fully effective. Major issues remain in the transparency of electronic contracts, imbalance in bargaining positions, collection practices that may create psychological pressure, vulnerabilities in personal data protection, and limited public understanding of dispute resolution mechanisms. Therefore, strengthening regulatory supervision, improving legal literacy, and ensuring balanced protection of the rights and obligations of debtors and creditors are essential to achieving justice in digital financial transactions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the role of green accounting in enhancing sustainability report integrity. This study uses a qualitative and descriptive approach to explain the role of green accounting in enhancing sustainability report integrity. The use of a qualitative and descriptive approach is supported by secondary data such as books, national and international journal articles, and related sources. The research results show that green accounting plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the integrity of a company's sustainability report. Through the implementation of green accounting, sustainability reports are no longer merely public relations documents but are transformed into honest, transparent, and accountable strategic documents. The primary role of green accounting in strengthening report integrity is transforming qualitative data into accurate quantitative data, standardization and transparency of environmental costs, helps meet global standards, facilitates third-party auditing, and reduces greenwashing practices.

Abstract

The pharmaceutical industry has experienced dynamic shifts in financial conditions at the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, it is important to re-examine the financial status of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk in the post-pandemic era, given prior studies have focused only on periods preceding 2024. This study aims to analyze the status and trends of liquidity ratios and profitability ratios for PT Kalbe Farma Tbk from 2021 to 2024. A non-statistical descriptive quantitative method was employed using horizontal analysis comparing financial ratio values ​​across years to identify developmental patterns. The data utilized consisted of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk’s annual consolidated financial statements for the 2021–2024 period, obtained from the company’s official website and the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Calculation results indicate that the company's liquidity ratios consistently remained well above safety benchmarks, with Current Ratios ranging from 377% to 491%, Quick Ratios from 2019% to 301%, and Cash Ratios from 89% to 176%; meanwhile, profitability ratios weakened in 2023 (NPM fell to 9%, ROA to 10%, and ROE to 12%) before recovering in 2024. High liquidity levels demonstrate the company's ample capacity to meet short-term obligations, whereas the 2023 decline in profitability was primarily driven by rising operating expenses that outpaced sales growth. The concluded that PT Kalbe Farma Tbk retains a strong capacity to settle short-term obligations, though it needs to enhance operational efficiency to optimize profitability. These findings are intended to serve as a reference for management and investors when assessing the company's financial health prior to making decisions.
