Abstract

This classroom action research investigates the application of group counselling using Reality Therapy to address low self-confidence among ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 29 Medan. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through two action-reflection cycles, the intervention involved planning, implementation, observation, and reflective stages. Data were gathered via observations, checklists, field notes, and student reflections, then analysed following Miles and Huberman’s model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that after the Reality Therapy sessions, at least 75% of participants demonstrated significant gains in self-confidence, active classroom participation, and perceived ability to manage academic challenges. Limitations include time constraints for deeper intervention and external factors such as family support. Overall, Reality Therapy in group counselling proved effective in enhancing students’ self-confidence and offers a replicable model for school counselling programs.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of Direct Interaction Strategy on enhancing reading comprehension among Grade XI students at SMK Telkom 2 Medan. Reading comprehension is a fundamental skill in vocational education, yet many students continue to struggle with understanding texts due to low motivation and the use of passive instructional strategies. To address this issue, this research applies the Direct Interaction Strategy, which promotes structured, student-centered learning through active engagement, peer collaboration, and continuous feedback. A quasi-experimental quantitative design was employed, involving two groups: an experimental class taught using the Direct Interaction Strategy, and a control class taught with traditional methods. Pre-tests and post-tests were administered to assess students' comprehension before and after the intervention. The findings reveal a significant improvement in the reading scores of students in the experimental group, with an average increase of 31.92 points, compared to only 4.4 points in the control group. The results of the t-test analysis (t =5.40) confirm that the improvement was statistically significant. These findings suggest that the Direct Interaction Strategy is an effective instructional method for improving students’ reading comprehension. This study contributes theoretically by strengthening the understanding of interactive teaching methods and offers practical implications for educators seeking to improve literacy outcomes in vocational school settings.

Abstract

Many student problems often trigger bullying behavior, usually driven by the desire to gain attention or feel valued among peers. When students fail to find a supportive social circle, they may act out by mocking or disturbing others. Such behavior often appears as showing off, teasing, mischief, or unnecessary interruptions during lessons. Addressing these issues requires collaboration among homeroom teachers, BK (guidance counselors), Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, and parents. However, this effort is not easy and needs continuous socialization and awareness programs involving both school staff and families. Bullying has wide-ranging effects, especially for victims who face increased risks of physical and mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, and physical complaints like headaches and stomachaches. Victims may also lose motivation to learn and feel unsafe at school. This study used a qualitative method to explore social issues like bullying. Findings show that bullying is still prevalent among Indonesian high school students, largely due to poor parental attention and negative peer influence. Therefore, the role of teachers, especially PAI and BK teachers, is vital in providing consistent guidance and intervention to prevent and reduce bullying behavior within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of mathematics teachers in assessing students’ religious attitudes at SMPN 25 Padang. The research focuses on how teachers understand, implement, and evaluate religious values in mathematics instruction, as well as the challenges they face. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological method was employed. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, involving Grade VII mathematics teachers as key informants. The findings reveal that teachers possess a strong understanding of religious values such as honesty, responsibility, patience, and discipline, and actively integrate these values into their teaching practices. Assessment is conducted through daily observation, student reflection journals, attitude rubrics, and both self- and peer-assessment. However, teachers encounter challenges related to limited time, subjective judgments, and a lack of standardized instruments. These findings highlight the need for continuous training, peer collaboration, and support from both the school and parents. The study offers important implications for the development of character education based on Islamic values that can be effectively embedded within mathematics instruction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh literasi digital dan kemandirian belajar terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Ekonomi FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa angkatan 2021–2024 sebanyak 115 orang, dengan sampel 53 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui teknik stratified random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh literasi digital dan kemandirian belajar terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan dilaksanakan di Program Studi Pendidikan Ekonomi FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa angkatan 2021–2024 sebanyak 115 orang, dengan sampel 53 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui teknik stratified random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa sebagian besar berada pada kategori baik (58,49%) dan sangat baik (35,49%). (2) Tingkat kemandirian belajar mayoritas tergolong tinggi (62,26%) dan sangat tinggi (26,41%). (3) Hasil belajar mahasiswa menunjukkan 83,01% memiliki Indeks Prestasi Semester (IPS) antara 3,51–4,00 (predikat pujian), dan 16,98% memiliki IPS antara 3,00–3,50 (predikat sangat memuaskan). (4) Literasi digital dan kemandirian belajar secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil nilai Fhitung sebesar 14,474 dan Ftabel pada taraf signifikan 5% sebesar 3,18. Apabila Fhitung lebih besar dari Ftabel maka Ho di tolak dan Ha di terima (14,474>3,18) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara literasi digital dan kemandirian terhadap hasil belajar. Selanjutnya pengujian koefisien determinan r2 = 0,367 atau 36,7% literasi digital dan kemandirian belajar mempengaruhi hasil belajar, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain sebesar 63,3%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas layanan konseling kelompok dalam meningkatkan psychological well-being siswa SMPN 8 Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one group pre-test and post-test. Sampel terdiri dari 8 siswa dengan tingkat kesejahteraan psikologis rendah, yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket psychological well-being berdasarkan model Ryff. Analisis data menggunakan uji paired sample t-test setelah dilakukan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata post-test dibandingkan pre-test pada seluruh responden, dengan nilai signifikansi p < 0,001. Hal ini membuktikan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah layanan konseling kelompok. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa layanan konseling kelompok efektif dalam meningkatkan penerimaan diri, hubungan positif dengan orang lain, dan orientasi tujuan hidup siswa, serta dapat menjadi alternatif intervensi bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat telah mengubah pola interaksi sosial, khususnya pada remaja, dan memunculkan fenomena phubbing mengabaikan interaksi tatap muka akibat penggunaan ponsel cerdas secara berlebihan. Hasil observasi di SMA Negeri 1 Krueng Barona Jaya tahun 2024 menunjukkan sekitar 65% siswa sering mengakses media sosial saat berinteraksi langsung, yang berpotensi mengganggu proses belajar dan hubungan interpersonal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas layanan konseling kelompok dalam menurunkan perilaku phubbing pada siswa. Perilaku phubbing dalam penelitian ini diukur berdasarkan indikator yaitu: (1) mengabaikan percakapan tatap muka—individu lebih memilih menatap layar ponsel dibanding memberikan perhatian pada lawan bicaranya secara langsung; (2) ketergantungan pada smartphone saat berinteraksi sosial, yaitu dorongan kuat untuk selalu memeriksa ponsel meskipun sedang dalam situasi interaksi sosial; dan (3) preferensi terhadap media sosial dibanding interaksi langsung, yaitu individu merasa lebih nyaman berinteraksi melalui media sosial dibanding komunikasi langsung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain One Group Pretest–Posttest. Subjek penelitian berjumlah lima siswa dengan skor phubbing tinggi yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket phubbing yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya berdasarkan indikator tersebut. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas Shapiro–Wilk dan dilanjutkan dengan uji paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan perilaku phubbing yang signifikan setelah intervensi, dengan rata-rata penurunan skor sebesar 7,67 poin (p = 0,001). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa konseling kelompok efektif meningkatkan kesadaran diri (self-awareness), regulasi diri (self-regulation), dan keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal, sehingga siswa mampu mengurangi penggunaan ponsel berlebihan saat berinteraksi. Hasil ini memperkuat pemanfaatan konseling kelompok sebagai strategi intervensi berbasis sekolah untuk mengatasi masalah perilaku terkait teknologi. Namun, keterbatasan jumlah sampel dan tidak adanya kelompok kontrol membuat generalisasi temuan perlu dilakukan secara hati-hati, sehingga penelitian lanjutan dengan sampel lebih besar dan desain eksperimen yang lebih kuat direkomendasikan.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has reshaped educational systems worldwide, compelling institutions to reconfigure their management strategies in order to sustain quality and relevance. This study explores innovative approaches to educational management in the digital era, with particular attention to leadership practices, institutional adaptability, and cultural readiness in Indonesian educational institutions. The purpose of this research is to identify how schools and universities strategically align digital transformation with organizational goals and to assess the challenges that influence the sustainability of innovation. A qualitative design was employed using a multiple case study approach, involving purposive sampling of 35 participants, including university leaders, school principals, administrative staff, and teachers. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis, and analyzed thematically with the assistance of NVivo software. The findings reveal three major themes: first, leadership strategies, especially collaborative and visionary leadership, serve as critical drivers of digital transformation; second, institutions display varying levels of adaptability, with universities utilizing structured digital governance systems and schools relying on simpler platforms due to resource constraints; and third, cultural and organizational barriers, such as resistance to change and limited digital literacy, hinder sustainable innovation. This research contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence from a developing country context and proposing a conceptual understanding of educational management that integrates leadership, adaptability, and cultural factors. The study concludes that innovation in educational management is essential to building institutional resilience and ensuring meaningful educational outcomes in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to classify Indonesian provinces based on the effectiveness of using the Taspen Authentication Application and to compare the performance of the K-Means and K-Medoids clustering algorithms. The research employed a quantitative approach using secondary data derived from the Taspen Authentication metrics, which include ten variables such as user, session, retention, login effectiveness, churn rate, and conversion rate. The data from 38 provinces were analyzed using cluster analysis. The optimal number of clusters was determined using the Elbow Method, and validation was performed with the Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI). The results indicate that the K-Means algorithm provides better clustering performance, with a DBI value of 1.752 and a Silhouette Coefficient of 0.2850. The findings reveal that 50% (19 provinces) demonstrate high effectiveness, 13.16% (5 provinces) moderate effectiveness, and 36.84% (14 provinces) low effectiveness in using the application. These results can serve as a basis for PT TASPEN and policymakers to develop region-specific strategies, including enhanced socialization, training, and infrastructure support to improve the overall effectiveness of the Taspen Authentication Application across Indonesia.
