Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate how social interaction and organizational culture impact the optimism of elementary school teachers in Pangean district. Teacher optimism is an essential psychological resource that determines mental resilience, motivation, and performance quality. This study used a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. The study population consisted of 202 teachers from 19 public elementary schools, and a sample of 135 teachers was obtained using the Taro Yamane formula, with random selection based on clusters. Primary data collection was conducted using a structured questionnaire, developed based on a five-point Likert scale, which underwent validity and reliability tests. Data interpretation was carried out using simple and multiple regression, as well as t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results showed that social interaction had a positive and significant influence on teacher optimism, with a contribution of 41.2%. Organizational culture also had a positive and significant impact, with a contribution of 42.7%. Together, these two variables contributed 42.7% of teacher optimism, with an R of 0.653, indicating a significant correlation, and a Sig. value. The F-value was 0.000, validating the model's significance. These findings indicate that good social relationships and a supportive organizational culture are crucial for teachers to have a more positive outlook on their profession. This study confirms that the growth of optimism among teachers depends on the support of a positive social environment and a strong organizational culture. Therefore, schools and educational policymakers need to improve collaborative, communicative, and emotionally welcoming environments for teachers

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of academic supervision of school principals in improving the pedagogic competence of teachers in Indonesian subject classes at UPT SD Negeri 12 Arungkekeke, Jeneponto Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type, involving the principal, three classroom teachers, and one supervisor as key informants. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's analysis model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that academic supervision is carried out through three main stages, namely planning, implementation, and follow-up. The principal has prepared observation instruments, supervision schedules, and mapping teacher needs. In the implementation stage, the principal carries out classroom observations, provides constructive feedback, and guides teachers in designing teaching tools. At the follow-up stage, the principal provides further guidance through discussion, mentoring, and monitoring. Academic supervision has been proven to contribute positively to improving teachers' pedagogic competence, especially in learning planning, classroom management, and the application of methods that suit the characteristics of students. Thus, the academic supervision of school principals plays an important role in encouraging the improvement of the quality of Indonesian learning in elementary schools

Abstract

This study aims to examine Ibn Khaldun's views on society and the educational environment and their relevance to education in contemporary Indonesia. A qualitative approach was used through literature review, analyzing books, journals, and articles related to Ibn Khaldun's thoughts on education and civilization. The results indicate that Ibn Khaldun viewed education as a means of developing the whole person, encompassing moral, intellectual, social, and practical skills. He emphasized the importance of integrating religious and rational knowledge, gradual learning methods (tadrīj) and repetition (takrīr), and education adapted to the social and cultural conditions of society. These ideas are relevant to modern Indonesian education, particularly in the development of a holistic curriculum, character formation, and the enhancement of students' practical skills.

Abstract

This study explores how Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), developed within religious communities in Tasikmalaya, serves as a medium for Islamic character education and an effective da'wah strategy for Generation Z. Through an experiential learning approach, participants not only train physically but also internalize Islamic values such as patience, discipline, humility, and emotional control. MMA helps build an active, modern, and competitive Muslim identity. Social media functions as a reflective and expressive platform where Islamic values are creatively conveyed to resonate with younger audiences. Da'wah strategies involving role models, community engagement, visual storytelling, and digital platforms have proven effective in fostering spiritual awareness and social connection. The findings show that MMA transforms participants from mere athletes into Muslims with strong character, strengthening grounded and impactful da'wah practices relevant to the challenges of globalization.

Abstract

The development of the philosophy of science plays a strategic role in reconstructing the paradigm of political education in Indonesia, which has long tended to be formalistic and ceremonial. Ideally, political education serves as a space for cultivating citizens’ critical awareness. Through the perspective of epistemology, knowledge is understood as non-neutral and inherently linked to social interests and power relations. This study employs a qualitative method using a library research approach by examining the works of Jurgen Habermas, Paulo Freire, and relevant literature on the philosophy of science and political education in Indonesia. The analysis is conducted using a descriptive–reflective technique to explore the relationship between the development of the philosophy of science and the revitalization of political education. The findings show that critical epistemology requires a paradigmatic shift from a positivistic model of political education toward a dialogical and participatory model. Political education should not merely convey political facts but encourage citizens to understand the reasons and values underlying political structures. This paradigm positions political education as an emancipatory process that forms critical, rational, and empowered citizens. Thus, the development of the philosophy of science through critical epistemology serves as an essential foundation for constructing a more reflective, dialogical, and liberating political education, ultimately strengthening democratic quality in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study addresses the challenge of low student engagement and performance in sociodrama within secondary education. Conventional teaching methods often lead to passive learning, lack of confidence, and inadequate understanding of role-playing techniques. The aim of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of a blended pedagogical approach combining a digital Spinner Application and Sociodrama (Role-Playing) to enhance learning outcomes, motivation, and self-efficacy among students. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, conducted over two cycles with 30 Grade XI Social Studies students at MAN 1 Ternate City, Indonesia. Methods included direct observation, performance rubrics, and pre- and post-intervention questionnaires measuring motivation and self-efficacy using a 5-point Likert scale. The results showed significant improvements: average spontaneity scores rose from 83.33 (Cycle I) to 88.67 (Cycle II), and structured performance scores increased from 82 (pre-test) to an average of 89.5 (Cycle II). Motivation increased by 63.4% and self-efficacy by 76.8%. The blended method successfully reduced anxiety, increased participation, and improved both cognitive and affective learning domains. These findings support the integration of gamification and experiential learning in drama education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of an interactive learning media developed using Articulate Storyline 3 as an innovation for teaching Science and Social Studies (IPAS) on the topic of countries across the seven continents for elementary school students. The research is driven by the need for digital media that can enhance students’ motivation and comprehension in learning global geography concepts that are often abstract and difficult to visualize. A mixed-methods approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design was employed. The participants consisted of 42 sixth-grade students from SDN Cibeber II. Research instruments included learning achievement tests, student response questionnaires, observation sheets, and interviews. The results indicate that the interactive learning media was highly effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. The average score increased from 61.31 to 90.83 after using the media, with an N-Gain value of 0.767, categorized as high. The paired sample t-test confirmed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. The questionnaire results showed an average score of 4.78, indicating that students found the media highly engaging, easy to use, and relevant to the material. Observations and interviews further revealed increased motivation, engagement, and conceptual understanding among students. In conclusion, the Articulate Storyline 3–based interactive learning media proved to be effective, feasible, and relevant as an innovative tool for teaching IPAS on the topic of the seven continents. This media can serve as an interactive learning solution aligned with the principles of Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Decentralization of education transfers authority from the central government to local governments and schools to improve the relevance and effectiveness of educational services. This study aims to analyze the implementation of basic education decentralization policies, and examine their implications for the quality of education. The analysis was conducted on national regulations and a number of local regulations from Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Palangka Raya. The results of the study show that decentralization is realized through three main pillars: decentralization of authority, decentralization of curriculum, and decentralization of budget. Regional implementation shows a variety of strategies, ranging from the establishment of mandatory local content, the provision of school-based curricular autonomy, to the development of culture-based local curricula. The implications include increased learning relevance, room for innovation for teachers, and strengthening of cultural identity, although there are still challenges in terms of regional capacity, budget accountability, and quality gaps between regions. These findings confirm that decentralization has the potential to strengthen the quality of basic education if accompanied by capacity building and effective monitoring mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of a humanistic approach in learning the hijaiyah letters as an effort to introduce the hijaiyah letters to fourth-grade students of MI Negeri Salatiga. The background of this study begins with the problem of students' low ability to recognize and pronounce the hijaiyah letters correctly due to monotonous and teacher-centered learning methods. The humanistic approach was chosen because it emphasizes the emotional, spiritual, and intellectual needs of students and places students as the center of learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included Arabic language teachers and fourth-grade students of MI Negeri Salatiga. The results of the study indicate that the application of a humanistic approach through interactive, contextual, and student-centered learning activities can improve students' hijaiyah reading skills, active participation, and learning motivation. The teacher acts as a facilitator, providing guidance and appreciation for each student's efforts.

Abstract

This research examines how cultural and educational diplomacy function as instruments of soft power in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and the Czech Republic. It addresses the research gap in understanding how educational exchanges and cultural initiatives contribute to people-to-people diplomacy within less-studied bilateral contexts. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study utilizes a systematic literature review as the main method of data collection, complemented by autoethnographic reflections derived from the author’s experience as an IISMA awardee in the Czech Republic. Data were obtained from official government documents, peer-reviewed academic journals, embassy publications, and institutional communications from both nations. The findings reveal that Indonesia’s cultural and educational diplomacy through programs such as IISMA, Darmasiswa, language teaching, and joint cultural festivals has effectively enhanced mutual understanding and fostered Indonesia’s positive image abroad. These initiatives serve as soft power mechanisms that attract foreign publics through shared learning and cultural appreciation, creating sustained engagement beyond state-level diplomacy. Despite these achievements, Indonesia’s approach remains fragmented due to the absence of a cohesive national branding strategy and limited inter-agency coordination. Strengthening collaboration among ministries, universities, and cultural institutions is essential to maximizing the impact of soft power. The study concludes that integrating educational and cultural diplomacy under a unified framework can significantly advance Indonesia’s strategic influence and bilateral partnership with the Czech Republic.
