Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of the job market and compensation on students’ decisions to pursue a career as an accountant, with information technology serving as a moderating variable. A quantitative research approach was employed. The study population includes all undergraduate accounting students at STIESIA Surabaya. Data were collected using probability sampling through a simple random sampling method. This study utilized multiple linear regression along with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to examine interaction effects. The study's findings demonstrate that job market factors have a significant positive effect on individuals' decisions to enter the accounting profession. Likewise, financial rewards also play a crucial role by exerting a positive and significant influence on career selection. Likewise, professional recognition positively and significantly affects students’ inclination to become accountants. However, information technology moderates this relationship by weakening the influence of financial rewards on career choice. In contrast, it enhances the effect of professional recognition on the decision to pursue an accounting career.

Abstract

Educational budget planning has a strategic role in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of financing in elementary schools. This study aims to examine the strategy of educational budget planning in improving the quality of financial management in five public elementary schools in Karawang Regency. The approach used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that budget preparation is carried out in a participatory manner, based on needs, and in line with the vision, mission, and School Work Plan (RKS). The principles of transparency, accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness are the main foundations in the budgeting process. Despite challenges such as late disbursement of funds and budget constraints, schools develop adaptive strategies through periodic evaluations, use of bridging funds, external collaboration, and utilization of information technology. These findings emphasize the importance of systematic and inclusive budget planning in realizing financial governance that supports the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

Conventional finance companies are an important part of the non-bank financial industry in Indonesia, which functions in financing investment, working capital, and public consumption. As a financial institution that supports national economic growth, its financial performance needs to be continuously analyzed and improved. This study aims to examine the effect of company size, company age, corporate governance, and operating costs on the financial performance of conventional finance companies in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a quantitative method using secondary data obtained from the annual financial reports of conventional financing companies registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the period 2019–2023. From a population of 179, 141 financing companies met the purposive sampling criteria, resulting in a total of 705 observations. After outlier trimming was carried out because there were indications of normality and heteroscedasticity problems, the final data analyzed were 495 observations. The analysis was carried out with SPSS 26.00 software using the multiple regression analysis method. The results of the study indicate that company size has a positive and significant effect on financial performance (ROA) (sig. 0.000; t-stat 3.713), company age has a significant positive effect on financial performance (ROA) (sig. 0.003; t-stat 2.953), corporate governance has a significant positive effect on ROA (sig. 0.007; t-stat 2.690), and operating costs have a negative effect on financial performance (ROA) (sig. 0.068; t-stat -1.832). The coefficient of determination (R² square) value of 0.109 indicates that the independent variables are able to explain 10.9% of the variation in financial performance of finance companies proxied by ROA. The implications of this study emphasize the importance for finance companies to expand their company scale and control operating costs strictly in order to improve financial performance. This study also opens up opportunities for further research to expand the scope of other factors, such as external macroeconomic factors that can affect the financial performance of finance companies in the future

Abstract

Vehicles powered by gasoline still dominate the roads in Jakarta and its surrounding areas. This has led to uncontrollable levels of pollution in Jakarta. Electric vehicles are one solution to reduce the pollution levels in the city. Since it is not feasible to eliminate all gasoline-powered vehicles to switch to electric vehicles, converting these vehicles into electric ones is a viable solution to address this issue. One of the most widely used gasoline-powered vehicles is the motorcycle. The large number of gasoline motorcycles in Jakarta presents an opportunity for automotive communities, such as conventional vehicle workshops, to participate in the transition to electric vehicles. However, the automotive community must be skilled in converting gasoline motorcycles to electric ones. Training on converting gasoline motorcycles to electric has been conducted for the automotive community in Jakarta. Training participants come from various educational backgrounds, ranging from high school/vocational school to university graduates. As a result, the training participants have been able to increase their knowledge and skills in converting gasoline motorcycles to electric ones by up to 20.54%.

Abstract

Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement(IA-CEPA) is a strategic economic cooperation framework built by Indonesia and Australia with the aim of improving the economy and achieving the national interests of each country. This study aims to analyze how Indonesia-Australia's economic diplomacy efforts are through a case study of IA-CEPA. The research method used is a qualitative method with literature study and interview data collection techniques. The results of the study show that although Indonesia's trade balance still shows a deficit trend because the import value is greater, IA-CEPA is not fixated on the existing trade balance deficit. There are other sectors that help Indonesia achieve its national interests, for example through working holiday visas, Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA), increasing foreign investment (FDI), improving workforce skills, and people-to-people connectivity. The results of the study also describe that Indonesia-Australia's economic diplomacy efforts did not stop during the negotiation period for cooperation, but also continued during the implementation period when the two countries had to coordinate and harmonize in facing and resolving the challenges of IA-CEPA. The economic diplomacy between the two countries that was established helped Indonesia and Australia to achieve their respective national interests, where state and non-state actors played crucial roles. This is in line with the theory of liberalism which views cooperation in international relations optimistically and makes it a place of interaction for state and non-state actors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of religiosity in enhancing fraud prevention effectiveness through the implementation of Good Corporate Governance (GCG), internal control, and compensation adequacy at Bank Muamalat East Java. Using a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling method through Smart PLS, this study involved 74 respondents from Bank Muamalat East Java employees. Research variables include religiosity (ideological, ritualistic, consequential, intellectual, experiential), GCG (transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, fairness), internal control (control environment, risk management, control activities, information and communication, monitoring), compensation (salary, incentives, allowances, facilities, non-financial compensation), and fraud prevention (lapping, embezzlement, pilferage, falsification, skimming). The results show that religiosity plays a significant role as a moderator in strengthening the relationship between GCG, internal control, and compensation adequacy toward fraud prevention. The research model explains 74.2% of variance in fraud prevention with predictive relevance (Q²) of 0.531. These findings provide theoretical contributions in developing fraud triangle theory enriched with religiosity dimensions in the Islamic banking context. Practically, this study provides recommendations for Bank Muamalat management to integrate religiosity values into governance systems, internal control, and compensation policies as a comprehensive fraud prevention strategy. Keywords: religiosity, fraud prevention, good corporate governance, internal control, compensation, Islamic banking .

Abstract

This study is a quantitative research using an explanatory approach that aims to analyze the influence of compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program and leadership on the work quality of employees in the low-cost apartment construction project in DKI Jakarta, both directly and indirectly through work motivation as a mediating variable. The population of this study consists of 800 project implementation employees at one of regional owned enterprises engaged in the property and infrastructure sector, with a sample of 267 respondents determined using the Slovin formula at a 5% margin of error. Data were collected through a survey using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the help of AMOS software version 22.00. The results show that compliance with the OHS Program has a significant positive effect on work quality but does not significantly affect work motivation. Leadership has a significant positive effect on both work motivation and work quality. Furthermore, work motivation serves as a significant mediating variable in bridging the effects of the OHS Program and leadership on work quality. The mediating effect of work motivation on the relationship between leadership and work quality is stronger than its effect on the relationship between the OHS Program and work quality. These findings indicate that in addition to the importance of implementing the OHS Program, effective leadership plays a strategic role in enhancing the motivation and work quality of construction project employees.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance, Human Resource Management (HRM), and Transformational Leadership (TLD) on the project quality of residential building construction. The research focuses on high-rise residential building projects that present specific challenges in managing OHS, human resources, and leadership. The population includes workers, project managers, and related personnel involved in residential building construction under the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR). A purposive sampling technique was used to select 384 respondents based on their roles and direct involvement in the project. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results indicate that OHS, HRM, and TLD have significant positive direct effects on project quality, with standardized estimates of 0.356, 0.404, and 0.253 respectively, at a 99% confidence level. Additionally, transformational leadership also has a significant indirect effect on project quality mediated by OHS and HRM, with estimates of 0.055 and 0.060 respectively. These findings suggest that in residential building projects, transformational leadership plays a crucial role not only in directly improving project quality but also indirectly through enhancing effective OHS practices and human resource management.

Abstract

The phenomenon of economic instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic has encouraged banks to improve income diversification strategies in order to reduce risk exposure and maintain sustainable financial performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of income diversification on credit risk and market risk with the role of control variables Size, Tangible Asset, Return on Asset and Liquidity. The study was conducted at Conventional Commercial Banks in Indonesia during the period 2018-2023. This research method uses a quantitative approach with secondary data. The population in this study is all Conventional Commercial Banks in Indonesia as many as 105 banks, then the sample determination uses purposive sampling technique and produces 101 banks as samples. The observation period for six years produced a total of 606 observation data. The analysis tool uses SPSS 26.0 software through multiple regression tests. The first regression results show that income diversification has a significant negative effect on credit risk (sig. 0.000; t-stat -3.170). Meanwhile, the size control variable does not affect credit risk (sig. 0.353; t-stat 0.930), Tangible does not affect credit risk (sig. 0.261; t-stat -1.125). ROA has a positive effect on credit risk (sig. 0.000; t-stat 6.399). Liquidity has a positive effect on credit risk (sig. 0.000; t-stat 6.355). The R² value of 0.204 indicates that 20.4% of the variation in credit risk can be explained by income diversification, and the control variables Size, Tangible Asset, Return on Asset and Liquidity. In the second regression, income diversification has a significant negative effect on market risk (sig. 0.049; t-stat -1.972). Meanwhile, the control variable size has a positive effect on market risk (sig. 0.002; t-stat 3.049), Tangible has no effect on market risk (sig. 0.493; t-stat -0.686). ROA has a negative effect on market risk (sig. 0.002; t-stat 3.184). Liquidity has a positive effect on market risk (sig. 0.000; t-stat 21.080). The R² value of 0.583 indicates that 58.3% of the variation in market risk can be explained by income diversification, and the control variables Size, Tangible Asset, Return on Asset and Liquidity.
