Abstract

This study aims to explore the perceptions of generation Z, especially students, towards the operational risks of mobile banking at Islamic banks. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, where data is collected through interviews with nine informants selected through purposive sampling techniques, namely Islamic Banking students of UMSurabaya who actively use mobile banking services at Islamic banks. Data validity is obtained through triangulation, and data analysis is carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the majority of informants assess this service positively because it is in accordance with Islamic principles, although there are concerns regarding technical risks and data security. This shows that the success of mobile banking services depends on the balance between Islamic principles and the quality of a system that is safe for users.

Abstract

Technological innovation has become one of the main pillars in the development of modern agriculture. The use of tools such as drones, soil sensors, and automatic irrigation systems allows farmers to increase productivity through more efficient and measurable land management. In addition, this advanced technology also plays an important role in promoting environmental sustainability through environmentally friendly practices, such as more efficient water management and precision fertilisation. This article explores the positive impacts of implementing these technologies in increasing crop yields while minimising negative impacts on nature. With more equitable access to technology, especially for smallholder farmers, these innovations have great potential to ensure global food security while maintaining a balance between social, economic, and ecological aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to identify dominant theoretical and practical trends in strategic management literature in the digital transformation era and to explore emerging research gaps. Utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) based on PRISMA 2020 guidelines, this research analyzes 42 Scopus-indexed journal articles published between 2020 and 2024. The findings, supported by bibliometric analysis using VOS viewer, reveal three major clusters: digital transformation and innovation strategy, strategic competitiveness through dynamic capabilities, and digital sterilization with platform-based strategies. These clusters reflect a paradigm shift from conventional resource-based and industrial-organization approaches to strategies that are adaptive, technology-driven, and collaborative. Furthermore, the study highlights significant gaps in integrating digital-based strategies within mainstream strategic management theories, with limited attention to concepts such as design thinking, ecosystem strategy, and AI-enabled decision-making. This study contributes theoretically by mapping the evolution of strategic thinking aligned with digital disruption, and practically by offering strategic insights for organizations aiming to sustain competitiveness in rapidly evolving markets. The results emphasize the urgency for organizations to adopt flexible, data-driven strategies that integrate innovation, digital capability, and ecosystem collaboration as central pillars of long-term strategic success

Abstract

Financial distress in securities companies can be an early indicator of potential financial failure that has a systemic impact on capital market stability. In the context of global and domestic economic dynamics, including the COVID-19 pandemic, securities companies face complex pressures from both internal and external sides. Therefore, early identification of factors that influence financial distress is very important in maintaining business continuity and protecting investors. This study aims to examine the effect of profitability, liquidity, solvency, capital structure, company size, corporate governance, and macroeconomic factors on the probability of financial distress in securities companies that are members of the stock exchange in Indonesia. This study is motivated by the importance of early detection of the financial condition of securities companies that have the potential to experience financial distress, especially in the context of market dynamics and external challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used is logistic regression analysis of secondary data from securities companies, namely93 securities companies are members of the stock exchange in Indonesia during the period 2018 to 2023.The variables analyzed include financial ratios (ROA, ROE, NIATTA, CR, TAANC, DER, TLOE, ECCABC, WACC, TA), corporate governance indicators (GCG), and macroeconomic indicators (GDP, INF, IHSG, BI7DRR). The results of the study indicate that profitability and liquidity do not have a significant effect on the probability of financial distress. On the contrary, the variables of solvency, capital structure, and company size are proven to have a significant effect in reducing the possibility of financial distress. In particular, the variables of Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and ECCABC have the strongest influence in predicting this risk. The corporate governance variable does not show a significant effect, which indicates that the governance dimension is not always in line with the indicators of financial distress. Meanwhile, macroeconomic variables such as GDP, inflation, and the composite stock price index (IHSG) are proven to be significant in reducing the probability of financial distress, while the BI benchmark interest rate (BI7DRR) does not have a significant effect.

Abstract

The development of adequate infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and other public facilities, play a vital role in driving national economic growth. Infrastructure projects require careful planning and controlled execution to ensure effective and efficient outcomes. This study focus on addressing the common issues of delays and cost overruns that frequently occur during project implementation. The objective is to analyze the alignment between planned and actual project performance. Using a quantitative methods, this research integrated the Earned Value Method (EVM) to assess project performance. The results indicate that, between weeks 26 and 39, the project generated performance that was both ahead of schedule and below budget. This is evidenced by positive values in both schedule and cost variance (SV and CV), along with the Schedule and Cost Performance Index (SPI and CPI) values exceeding 1. However in week 40, a decrease in schedule performance was observed, leading to a slight project delay. The project’s estimated overall cost is IDR 116.8 billion, representing a decrease from the initial budget allocation, with an estimated delay is only around 18 days.

Abstract

In the face of global uncertainty such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the resilience of the banking system becomes a strategic issue, especially for regional government-owned commercial banks that have an important role in regional economic stability. This study aims to examine the effect of risk disclosure, the number of risk monitoring committees, and risk committee activities on bank profitability as measured by Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), and to test the differences using the paired sample t-test method for each variable before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research method uses a quantitative approach. Hypotheses H1–H6 are tested by regression, while hypotheses H7a–H7e are tested by paired sample t-test. The results of the first regression show that only H1 is accepted, namely risk disclosure has a significant positive effect on ROA (t = 2.525; p = 0.013). However, H2 and H3 are rejected because the Number of Risk Committees and risk committee activities do not have a significant effect on ROA (t = -1.741; p = 0.084 and t = -1.923; p = 0.056). The first regression model has a determination value (R²) of 0.078, which means that 7.8% of the variation in ROA can be explained by the independent variables. The second regression shows that only H5 is accepted, namely the number of risk committees has a significant positive effect on ROE (t = 2.019; p = 0.045). While H4 and H6 are rejected because risk disclosure and risk committee activities do not have a significant effect on ROE (t = -0.920; p = 0.359 and t = -1.695; p = 0.092). The determination value (R²) of 0.055 indicates that 5.5% of the variation in ROE is explained by the model. Furthermore, the results of the paired sample t-test showed that only H7c, H7d, and H7e were accepted. Risk committee activity increased significantly during the pandemic (t = -2.048; p = 0.044), and there was a significant decrease in ROA during the Covid-19 pandemic (t = 3.446; p = 0.001) and ROE (t = 4.920; p = 0.000). Meanwhile, H7a and H7b were rejected because risk disclosure (t = -1.000; p = 0.320) and the number of risk committees (t = -1.211; p = 0.230) did not experience significant differences before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study provides evidence that risk disclosure and the number of risk monitoring committees contribute to explaining bank profitability, although in general the explained variation is relatively small. This finding highlights the importance of improving the quality of risk governance that is more adaptive in responding to the crisis.

Abstract

The textile industry produces large amounts of waste, including denim scraps that are often not optimally utilized. This study aims to explore the quilting technique as a creative method in using denim scrap waste into watch strap accessory products through an upcycling approach. The method used is an experimental-descriptive approach with stages of design exploration, manufacturing process, and evaluation of product results in terms of visual appearance, comfort, and usability. The results of the study show that the quilting technique is effective in processing denim waste into unique, artistic, and environmentally friendly products. The application of this technique within the upcycle framework not only reduces textile waste but also creates commercially valuable products with a new identity. This study is expected to contribute to the development of textile waste-based accessories and encourage sustainable design practices in the creative industry.

Abstract

This study aims to further examine the effect of liquidity and company size on stock prices, with the hope of contributing to the literature and becoming a reference for investors in making better investment decisions. This study is a quantitative study and uses descriptive and verification methods to provide a clear and systematic picture of the data and facts observed, so that it can provide a deep understanding of the characteristics of the variables studied. The results of the study indicate that liquidity has a positive but insignificant effect on stock prices and company size has a significant positive effect on stock prices. It can be concluded that companies with larger total assets tend to have higher stock prices, which can be interpreted as an indicator of investor confidence in the stability and prospects of the company in the future, so that it will affect stock prices.
