Abstract

Schools often emphasize academic achievement, modern facilities, and global achievements, but often spirituality is not a major concern even though academic intelligence without spiritual guidance has the potential to produce morally fragile graduates. This study aims to analyze the internalization of Islamic spiritual values in the culture of an excellent school at SMA Negeri 3 Semarang, as well as to examine the impact of the Specta Religios and Specta Charity programs on student character development. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type, through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques of students, PAI teachers, and Rohis extracurricular advisors. The results show that Specta Religi program, which includes reciting the Qur'an, performing the dhuha prayer, and giving religious lectures, has succeeded in fostering religious habits, discipline, and a sense of responsibility among students. Meanwhile, the Specta Charity program, which involves distributing food, social service, and caring activities, has fostered solidarity, empathy, and social responsibility. These two programs complement each other in instilling Islamic values because they emphasize a balance between vertical religiosity towards Allah and horizontal care for others. Thus, the internalization of Islamic spiritual values at SMA Negeri 3 Semarang has proven effective in forming a holistic, excellent school culture, producing students who are both high-achieving and noble in character.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Eco-Faith Movement through the Waste-Sorting Program as a reflection of faith and environmental ethics at MA-Ulya Islamic Centre Bin Baz Yogyakarta. This movement seeks to integrate Islamic spiritual values with ecological responsibility, positioning waste management not merely as a duty of cleanliness but also as a form of worship and an expression of faith. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation with teachers, administrators, and students involved in the waste-sorting activities. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source triangulation used for validation. The findings indicate that the Waste-Sorting Program successfully integrates environmental education with religious practice through habituation and exemplary behavior in students' daily routines. This activity cultivates ecological awareness, discipline, and a sense of responsibility as manifestations of faith in Allah's creation. Beyond improving the cleanliness and comfort of the pesantren environment, the program also fosters a circular economy system by managing waste with economic value. Overall, the Eco-Faith Movement at MA-Ulya Islamic Centre Bin Baz serves as a concrete model of environmentally-based Islamic education that nurtures religious character while encouraging care for environmental sustainability.

Abstract

The learning of Arabic is often perceived as a challenging process, particularly for learners who do not have a background as native speakers. This study aims to examine in depth the concept of the direct method and to understand its implementation in Arabic language learning. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach using library research as the primary framework for examining the issues, with data collected from both primary and secondary sources and subsequently analysed critically to reveal patterns, conceptual relationships, and contributions to the development of understanding regarding Arabic language teaching methods. This approach places emphasis on the development of speaking and listening skills as the primary foundation for language mastery; furthermore, the direct method emphasises the intensive use of Arabic during the learning process, so that vocabulary and grammatical structures are introduced gradually and naturally through interactions occurring during the learning process. As a result, learners do not merely gain a theoretical understanding of the structure and forms of the language, but are also trained to use it communicatively. This approach encourages them to interact in a variety of more realistic and contextual situations, thereby enabling their language skills to develop in a more natural and functional way.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the urgency of diagnostic assessment in improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. The background of this research lies in the low quality of PAI learning, which remains predominantly cognitive-oriented while neglecting the integration of knowledge, religious attitudes, and worship skills. This study employed a library research method with content analysis using the Miles Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal four main urgencies of diagnostic assessment. First, it supports differentiated learning by mapping students’ initial abilities. Second, it provides the foundation for remediation and enrichment according to learners’ needs. Third, it increases learning motivation by aligning instruction with students’ conditions. Fourth, it fosters Islamic character formation through the integration of cognitive and non-cognitive. These results affirm that diagnostic assessment is not merely a technical tool but a fundamental strategy to achieve national education goals and support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning strategies implemented in the TPQ Morning Program at TPQ Al-Huda Jondang in developing the religious values of early childhood. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the learning strategies include auditory habituation through listen-and-repeat methods, a combination of classical and individual approaches, the use of concrete media, game-based learning, and gradual habituation of worship practices. These strategies are integratively applied to support the internalization of religious values, covering cognitive aspects, worship practices, and daily behavior. In addition, the implementation of the program in the morning supports children’s learning readiness due to more optimal physical and mental conditions. In conclusion, adaptive, varied, and habituation-based learning strategies play an important role in developing religious values in early childhood holistically. The integration of multiple learning strategies becomes a key factor in enhancing the effectiveness of religious value internalization within non-formal Islamic education contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing religious moderation values through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in a multireligious school environment. This research is motivated by the urgency of strengthening religious moderation in education as a response to increasing intolerance and social diversity. The study employs a qualitative approach with a field research design conducted in an elementary school characterized by a multireligious background. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using interactive data analysis techniques. The results indicate that the internalization of religious moderation values is carried out through integrated learning processes, teacher role modeling, habituation, and social interactions among students. The learning emphasizes values such as tolerance, moderation, and justice, which are reinforced by an inclusive school environment. The multireligious setting provides real social experiences that enable students to understand and practice these values in their daily lives. As a result, students demonstrate inclusive attitudes, empathy, mutual respect, and moderate religious behavior. This study highlights that Islamic Religious Education in a multireligious school plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character and promoting harmonious coexistence in a diverse society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges faced and the strategies implemented by Aqidah Akhlak teachers in strengthening students’ manners toward teachers in the digital era at MA Hasyim Asy’ari Bangsri. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon based on real conditions in the field. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, involving the principal, Aqidah Akhlak teachers, and tenth-grade social science students as informants. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while the validity of the data was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings indicate that the main challenges faced by teachers include diverse student characteristics, low awareness of manners and etiquette, and the negative influence of internet and social media usage. In addition, teachers’ limited ability to supervise students outside the school environment, lack of parental control, and the influence of peer environments also become significant obstacles in strengthening students’ manners. To address these challenges, teachers implement several strategies, including providing role models (uswah hasanah), continuously reinforcing and habituating moral values, filtering and guiding the use of social media, and integrating moral values into local content subjects through the study of Aqidatul Awwam and Ta’limul Muta’allim.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze of the use of the Ruang Belajar Application (Rubel) as a support for creative Islamic Education (PAI) learning strategies at SMAN 1 Yosowilangun. This research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and supported by survey data from 242 twelfth-grade students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the use of the Rubel Application has a positive impact on the PAI learning process, as reflected in increased student engagement, interest, and understanding. Learning becomes more interactive and varied through the integration of text, video, and project-based assignments. The implementation of the MODERAT learning strategy (Muhasabah, Observation, Deepening Material, Elaboration, Actualization Space, Affirmation and Reflection, and Competency Test) effectively organizes the learning process in a structured manner and encourages active student participation. However, challenges were identified, including limited internet access and varying levels of students’ digital literacy. To address these issues, adaptive strategies such as hotspot sharing and collaborative group work were implemented. In conclusion, the Ruang Belajar Application functions not only as a learning medium but also as an integrated system that supports the development of creative, flexible, and student-centered PAI learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate digital transformation strategies for pesantren in response to the challenges of Society 5.0 and to construct a conceptual framework for negotiating Islamic tradition (al-turath) with modern technology. The method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol, analyzing relevant scholarly articles from reputable databases published between 2021 and 2026. The results indicate that digital transformation in pesantren encompasses three primary aspects: pedagogical restructuring through network-based learning models, the adaptation of digital leadership by the Kyai, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in disseminating religious teachings. However, significant challenges emerge, including the potential erosion of the authority of classical books (kitab kuning) and shifts in the socio-cultural values of "santri-hood" in cyberspace. The conclusion of this study asserts that the digital sustainability of pesantren relies heavily on a "creative negotiation" model, where technology is adopted as an acceleration instrument without reducing the essence of scholarly chains (sanad) and spiritual charisma. The resulting conceptual framework serves as a strategic guide for pesantren administrators to maintain institutional resilience within the modern educational landscape.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Islamic educational thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas and examine its relevance to the moral crisis of youth in the modern era. The rapid development of the digital era has significantly influenced adolescents’ lifestyles, ways of thinking, and behavior, resulting in various forms of moral degradation such as declining adab, weakening spiritual values, deviant behavior, and identity crises. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research as the research design. Data were collected through documentation studies by examining various primary and secondary sources related to Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas’s educational thought, the concept of ta’dib, Islamic education, and youth moral crises. The data were analyzed using content analysis methods to understand, interpret, and draw conclusions from the examined literature. The findings reveal that the concept of adab in Al-Attas’s educational thought occupies a central position in shaping knowledgeable and moral individuals. The moral crisis among youth is essentially caused not only by weak social control but also by an epistemological crisis that leads to the loss of the ability to understand the true nature of knowledge and values. The concept of ta’dib proposed by Al-Attas serves as an important solution because it emphasizes not merely behavioral formation, but also the transformation of consciousness, the integration of knowledge and values, and the development of morality oriented toward truth and spiritual responsibility. Therefore, strengthening adab in Islamic education becomes a fundamental agenda for shaping a young generation with noble character, strong morality, and the ability to face the challenges of modernity.
