Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of jihad in the context of social media and explain how digital ethics can be used as a basis for promoting Islamic moderation in the digital space. The research method used is qualitative with a literature review of data sources from academic journals, scientific articles, and policy documents relevant to the themes of digital jihad, digital ethics, and Islamic moderation. The results show that the concept of digital jihad is a contemporary form of ijtihad that represents the struggle of Muslims to maintain the integrity of teachings and public morality on social media. Digital ethics is found to be the epistemological basis for the preaching of Islamic moderation, which emphasizes verification (tabayyun), justice ('adl), and communication etiquette (qaulan sadīdan). Thus, Islamic moderation in the digital age can only be realized through the integration of Islamic moral values, media literacy, and ethical awareness in online religious practices. Thus, constructive digital jihad can reduce conflict, strengthen ukhuwah (brotherhood), and uphold Islam Wasathiyyah on social media.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the design of interactive e-modules in Hadith learning connected to Google Classroom as part of the digital transformation in Islamic education. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach, which collects and analyzes various academic sources related to the development of digital learning media, the implementation of LMS, and interactive approaches in studying Hadith. The research results show that an effective Hadith e-module consists of five main sections: introduction, Hadith material, explanation, exercises, and evaluation. This module also includes various multimedia elements such as audio for reading Hadith, explanatory videos, and sanad graphics. Integrated into Google Classroom, this e-module facilitates structured material management, utilizes assignment and quiz features, and enhances interaction between lecturers and students. In addition, using online Hadith search sites such as Hadits Tazkia, Hadits.id, and Hadits.in also provides advantages in improving students’ digital and Islamic literacy. The research concludes that the development of interactive e-modules based on Google Classroom is an effective strategy to improve the quality of Hadith learning that is contextual, flexible, and participatory in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of technology in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning evaluation in the digital era. The focus of the research is on how the application of digital media and platforms, such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), Google Forms, and Quizizz, can enhance the interactivity, objectivity, and relevance of modern learning assessment. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method using a library research approach by reviewing relevant journals, books, and previous studies concerning the use of technology in PAI learning evaluation. The findings reveal that technology improves feedback accuracy and timeliness, broadens access to learning outcome data, and encourages students’ active participation. Nevertheless, several challenges were identified, including low digital literacy among teachers and students, limited infrastructure, and data security concerns. This study emphasizes the importance of enhancing teachers’ digital competence and providing adequate technological facilities to ensure that digital-based evaluation can be effectively and sustainably implemented in Islamic education contexts.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the moral crisis and the lack of students' understanding in the subject of Akidah Akhlak at MTs Hidayatul Muhajirin Palangka Raya, where the learning process is still dominated by expository teaching strategies (lectures or verbal explanations). Therefore, this study aims to improve students' understanding of the Akidah Akhlak subject through the implementation of the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning strategy assisted by wordwall. The research uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental type in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. Data were collected through observation and tests (pretest and posttest) in the experimental class (STAD assisted by wordwall) and the control class (expository). Observation results showed that the implementation of the STAD strategy assisted by wordwall was carried out very well (reaching 95.8%). The independent sample t-test analysis showed a significance value of 0.000, which means there is a significant difference in students' understanding, where the average posttest score of the experimental group (88.93) is much higher than the control group (80.48). Furthermore, the N-Gain test produced a score of 0.6027 (medium category). It can be concluded that the implementation of the STAD learning strategy assisted by wordwall is effective in improving students' understanding in Akidah Akhlak subjects.

Abstract

The development of assessment rubrics in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is an essential effort toward establishing an objective, transparent, and character-oriented evaluation system rooted in Islamic values. This study aims to design assessment rubrics that holistically measure cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions. The Research and Development (RD) method applies a modified Borg Gall model, including needs analysis, prototype design, expert validation, limited trials, product revision, and large-scale implementation. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively using expert judgment, Aiken’s V, and Cronbach’s Alpha to assess validity and reliability. The findings indicate that analytic rubrics improve the objectivity and consistency of assessment, particularly in evaluating attitudes and worship performance. Providing rubrics to students enhances learning motivation, accountability, and academic honesty. The use of digital platforms, such as e-rubrics and digital portfolios, strengthens documentation and feedback effectiveness. The study concludes that successful rubric implementation depends on teacher involvement, clear indicators, scoring calibration, and institutional support. The developed rubric serves as a foundational instrument for fair, adaptive, and spiritually oriented PAI evaluation toward nurturing insan kamil—a fully developed Muslim individual.

Abstract

This study explores the intellectual contribution of Syekh Abdul Karim Amrullah to the transformation of Islamic education in the Malay world, particularly the shift from the traditional surau system to the modern madrasah. Using a qualitative-historical approach, the research investigates the social, intellectual, and religious contexts that shaped his educational reform movement in early 20th-century Minangkabau. Findings indicate that Amrullah played a crucial role in integrating Islamic values with modern rationality through systemic, methodological, and curricular reforms. He rejected the dichotomy between religious and secular sciences, introduced a structured class-based learning system, and emphasized moral and character education as the foundation of Islamic pedagogy. Thus, it can be concluded that Sheikh Abdul Karim Amrullah played a significant role in transforming Malay Islamic education from the traditional surau system to the modern madrasah. The principles introduced by Sheikh Abdul Karim Amrullah included curriculum reform, classical methods, and the integration of religious and general knowledge to form the basis for a rational and contextual Islamic education.  His conception of madrasah represented not merely an institutional reform but a manifestation of a progressive and contextual Islamic renewal aimed at liberating the Muslim community from ignorance and colonial domination. Amrullah’s educational thought laid a vital foundation for the development of modern Islamic education in Indonesia and the broader Malay world.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in strengthening the religious character values of students at MTs Negeri 1 Pesawaran through various strategies implemented in a planned manner. The study used a qualitative method with a case study approach through observation, interviews, and documentation of five key informants. The results showed that PAI teachers and guidance and counseling teachers implemented a number of strategies such as Al-Quran literacy before learning, a tahfiz program, the habit of congregational prayer, the implementation of 3S (smile, greet, say hello), the culture of shaking hands, and monitoring student behavior. These strategies have proven effective in shaping students' religious character, discipline, and responsibility. However, several obstacles were found, such as the school's location close to a busy center, low parental involvement, and negative peer influence. Overall, the role of teachers is very significant in creating a madrasah environment that is conducive to the formation of students' religious character.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation and measure the effect of the role-playing learning model on the learning outcomes of applying Pancasila values in the family environment for fifth-grade students at MIS NU Palangka Raya. The study uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. Data were obtained through observation, tests, and documentation, and then analyzed using the T-test. The research results show that role-playing learning was carried out according to the syntax, starting from aperception, group division, scenario provision, acting, discussion, to reflection. Students appeared active, cooperative, and showed an increase in courage and self-confidence. The paired sample t-test showed Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 0.05, which means the role-playing model has a positive and significant effect on student learning outcomes. Thus, the role-playing model is effective for use in Pancasila Education learning because it can improve learning outcomes as well as develop students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of integration of muamalah values in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMP Muhammadiyah 05 Muara Aman. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with school principals, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and students, as well as documentation of curriculum documents and learning plans. The data analysis technique used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results showed that the integration of muamalah values in the Merdeka Curriculum is carried out through four main dimensions: (1) integration in the curriculum through the formulation of core competencies and learning objectives that contain values of justice, honesty, responsibility, and cooperation; (2) integration in the learning process through contextual methods that link material with muamalah principles in real life; (3) integration in extracurricular activities such as school bazaars, student organizations, and social programs; and (4) integration in school culture through exemplary behavior of teachers, honest canteens, worship habituation, and a culture of mutual cooperation. This study confirms that the Merdeka Curriculum provides strategic opportunities for Islamic schools to integrate muamalah values more flexibly and contextually, thereby forming students who are not only academically intelligent but also have strong Islamic character.
