Abstract

The pandemic has allowed teachers to apply their innate abilities, such as creativity and innovation, and to impart comprehensive knowledge about physical education with simplified learning materials (SLM) that are centered on the contextual needs of students. The objective of the study is to determine the effect of Simplified Learning Materials (SLM) on students' learning performance in Physical Education. The study specifically aimed to determine the following: (1) evaluate the learning performance of the students in Physical Education before and after using simplified learning materials, and (2) identify the said significant differences between the students' mean scores before and after the intervention. The researchers used a pre-experimental design, specifically the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study was participated by 52 Grade 8 students in one of the secondary schools in the Philippines. Purposive sampling was used in the study. Data analysis was performed using the JASP software (weighted mean and paired t-test). Data revealed that the Shapiro-Wilk test of normality can be used to determine that the data does not deviate from the assumption of normality with a p-value of 0.305, which is greater than 0.05. According to the descriptive table, the post-test result is higher than the pretest result. The mean difference of -2.538 in the Paired Samples T-Test results is significant, with a p-value of 0.002 for the test. The use of Simplified Learning Materials (SLM) helps grade 8 students perform better on tasks and grasp understanding to the lesson related to physical education. This shows that the intervention has a significant effect on the student’s learning performance in Physical Education.  Future researchers can utilize the findings as a foundation to use simplified learning materials (SLM) for further contextualize and address what students need to accomplish. Abstract

Low achievement in the sport of martial arts is influenced by several factors in the direction of physical condition and the ability to combine punches and kicks.  This type of research is quantitative research with an associative correlation approach with a method (path analysis). The purpose of this study is to determine the influence both directly and indirectly of the combination of punches and kicks. The sample in this study was 30 athletes, the sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. Punch and kick combination test to measure athlete's attack combination ability, Vertical Jump measures limb power, two hand medicine ball put measures arm power and hand-eye coordination with tennis ball catch throw In this limb power instrument has a validity value of 0.67, and test reliability of 0.79. Data analysis techniques use path analysis techniques. Results show 1). The direct effect of limb power on the combination of punches and kicks of Riau Holy Site athletes is 6.30%. 2). Direct influence of arm power on the combination of punches and kicks of Riau Holy Site athletes 8.47%, 3). The direct influence of eye-hand coordination on the combination of punches and kicks of Riau Holy Site athletes 23.04. This research only discusses a few factors that affect the combination of punches and kicks of athletes, there are many other factors such as agility, speed, accuracy, etc.  That way, it is hoped that there will be further research that examines other variable factors so that all aspects that can affect the combination of punches and kicks can be analyzed and get answers so that they can improve the achievements of Indonesian martial arts athletes, especially Riau sacred site athletes. Abstract

The research was conducted on a suitable sample of school-aged children (experimental and control group) with the main aim to prove positive impact of the structured regular physical exercises on the development of the individual motor skills. The motor abilities that are specifically covered in this work are speed, strength, coordination and flexibility, which are among the seven basic motor abilities of every healthy individual. In order to get an answer to the question, whether the experimental group differs in terms of the same anthropological characteristics from the control group of respondents at the final measurement compared to the initial measurement, appropriate means, methods and workloads were applied.Applying the method of initial and final measurement, significant differences were found in the motor skills of children from the experimental group of subjects, which basically answered the question of the impact of the application of structured regular physical activity programs on the development of the mentioned motor skills. Keywords: experimental and control group, motor skills, physical activity.
