Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the need to strengthen botanical studies in biology education so that it is not only understood as conceptual material, but also as a means to build environmental literacy and sustainability awareness. This activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of Biology Education students as prospective teachers in integrating botanical studies with the issue of Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs. The activity was held on May 7, 2026, at the Minihall FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, involving 50 Biology Education students. The implementation method used a participatory-educational approach through the stages of preparation, material delivery, interactive discussions, mentoring in developing sustainability-based botanical learning ideas, and activity evaluation. The results of the activity showed that participants gained a better understanding of the relationship between botany and SDGs, the potential of local plants as learning resources, and the importance of contextual, applicable, and sustainability-oriented botanical learning. Participants were also able to develop initial ideas for learning or educational media for botany based on local potential and environmental issues. This activity provides benefits in strengthening plant literacy, environmental literacy, and pedagogical readiness of prospective biology teachers. Thus, revitalizing botanical studies in education can be a strategy to strengthen sustainable education that supports the achievement of the SDGs.

Abstract

Ayam Geprek Stroom, a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME), is a culinary business located in Rembang Regency, Central Java. Based on a situational analysis, several challenges were identified among its partners, including limited business promotion, limited human resources, and suboptimal use of digital media as a marketing tool. This Business Work Lecture (KKU) program aims to increase the competitiveness and marketing reach of MSMEs by strengthening their visual identity and optimizing digital marketing. The implementation method was participatory, encompassing pre-surveys and permits, problem identification, strengthening the business's visual identity, enhancing digital marketing, monitoring and evaluation, program implementation, and closing. The program included menu catalog development, promotional banners and pamphlets, product photography enhancements for GrabFood and ShopeeFood, and the creation of social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok. The results of the program indicate that Ayam Geprek Stroom has more engaging and informative promotional media and has acquired digital marketing tools that can be used to reach a wider consumer base. The utilization of social media and online sales platforms is expected to increase business visibility, strengthen branding, and support sustainable sales growth.

Abstract

Tourism villages are one of the instruments relied upon by the government to promote sustainable tourism development. However, many tourism villages still face various obstacles in achieving independence in their management. This underscores the need to improve understanding of the aspects that determine the success of tourism village development. Therefore, this community service activity was conducted to provide students and academics with an understanding of the application of a community-based tourism approach in the context of tourism village development in Indonesia. The activity took the form of an international seminar on April 8, 2026, at the Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia (ATCU) BSD Campus, involving approximately 60 participants, consisting of Indonesian students, international students from the Philippines and Timor Leste, and lecturers from both Indonesia and the Philippines. The methods used included lectures, case study presentations, and interactive discussions. The material presented covered the concepts of sustainable tourism, community-based tourism, and a comparison of case studies of Sade Village and Bilebante Village in Lombok. The activity demonstrated high participant participation in discussions regarding the success factors and challenges of tourism village management. Through the case studies presented, participants gained an understanding that community participation, clear governance, and collaboration with various stakeholders are crucial factors in realizing independent and sustainable tourism villages. This activity demonstrates that the use of real-life case studies can be an effective learning tool in introducing community-based tourism village management practices to both national and international participants.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in the modern era has brought significant changes to MSME marketing strategies, including the utilization of social media and e-commerce as product promotion media. This research was conducted at a Parcel MSME located in Batangsaren Village, Kauman District, Tulungagung Regency, East Java. The purpose of this activity was to determine the utilization of Shopee and TikTok in supporting the marketing of parcel MSME products, to identify the impact of using these applications on marketing improvement, and to analyze the obstacles faced by business owners in their implementation. The method used in this activity was a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were obtained directly through interviews with the MSME owner and observations of the marketing activities carried out. The results showed that the utilization of Shopee and TikTok had a positive impact on the marketing of parcel MSME products. Shopee helped simplify the sales process and expand market reach, while TikTok was effectively used as a creative promotional medium through short videos and live streaming that increased consumer buying interest. However, MSME owners still faced several obstacles, such as limited digital marketing skills, difficulties in creating attractive promotional content, intense online market competition, and limited supporting facilities. Therefore, improving digital understanding and skills is necessary so that the utilization of digital platforms can be carried out optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

This community service activity, involving knowledge transfer, aims to prepare human resources, particularly new employees at J&T Cargo SUB 19, to acquire the technical competency to operate the Accurate Online system. This preparation is crucial for facilitating the independent takeover of the company's administrative and financial tasks. Implementation methods included coordinating initial preparations, implementing shadowing (mentoring and direct observation), field practice simulations, and remote monitoring. This activity focused exclusively on one participant projected to fill this strategic position, with the main content covering invoice creation and payment procedures, inputting daily operational expenses, and recording and reconciling bank transfers. The results of the activity demonstrated a positive impact; through systematic and structured training stages, participants successfully mastered the application's workflow and were able to implement it within the fast-paced daily operational rhythm of a logistics company. Based on descriptive evaluations conducted continuously until the handover deadline, participants demonstrated significant progress, both in terms of data input accuracy and work independence. The success of this training program ensures that the takeover process can proceed smoothly without triggering administrative bottlenecks or disrupting J&T Cargo SUB 19's daily logistics activities.

Abstract

The fisheries sector plays a vital role in the Indonesian economy, particularly for coastal communities. However, the abundant marine potential in Sumare Village, Simboro District, Mamuju Regency, has not been optimally utilized by local fishermen. Continuous traditional fishing in certain locations has led to environmental degradation and the potential for overfishing, which threatens the sustainability of the marine ecosystem. To address this problem, this community service activity aims to empower fishermen through the dissemination of remote sensing technology based on oceanographic parameters such as sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a, to determine potential and sustainable fishing locations. The methods used included material delivery, discussions, and the distribution of banners displaying maps of potential skipjack tuna fishing zones. The results of this activity showed an increase in fishermen's understanding of remote sensing technology, potential fishing zones, and community enthusiasm in supporting this activity. In conclusion, this dissemination successfully provided important education for the Sumare village community to increase fishing efficiency, maintain the sustainability of fishery resources, and improve fishermen's welfare.

Abstract

The digital transformation of tax administration through the Coretax Administration System (Coretax) requires taxpayers not only to understand tax regulations but also to possess the ability to utilize information technology effectively. As a newly implemented tax administration system for filing the 2025 Annual Individual Income Tax Return, (SPT Tahunana) Coretax still requires an adaptation process among taxpayers. Consequently, many taxpayers continue to encounter difficulties in activating their Coretax accounts, generating the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) authorization code, and completing and submitting their Annual Individual Income Tax Returns. This community service program aimed to improve tax literacy and tax compliance through the Tax Corner (Pojok Pajak) program implemented at Universitas Sulawesi Barat in collaboration with the Tax Center and the Majene Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama Majene). The program employed a participatory approach combined with direct assistance and was carried out in three stages: training prospective facilitators, assisting taxpayers with Coretax account activation, and providing guidance on the completion and submission of Annual Individual Income Tax Returns. The results demonstrated that the Tax Corner program improved participants' understanding of Coretax implementation, helped resolve various technical issues related to account activation and Annual Income Tax Return filing, and enhanced taxpayers' awareness and compliance in fulfilling their tax obligations. The program also demonstrates that collaboration between higher education institutions and the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) is an effective strategy for supporting the digital transformation of tax administration while improving taxpayers' literacy and compliance.

Abstract

The young teacher mentoring program at Pematang Nibung Public Elementary School 23, located in Pematang Nibung Village, Medang Deras District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, aims to improve teachers' skills in designing authentic assessments based on local potential. The program's background focuses on the challenges faced by teachers in remote areas, including a lack of resources and training in designing effective assessments. Authentic assessment is expected to increase student motivation and learning relevance, so that learning outcomes become more optimal. The research methods used in this program include needs analysis, intensive training, assessment simulations, mentoring by mentors, and evaluation and follow-up. The subjects of this community service were six teachers at Pematang Nibung 23 Public Elementary School, with the data collection instrument being an observation sheet to observe the participants' activities during the activity. The data obtained is processed and presented in descriptive form with a quantitative approach. The results of this program are expected to be seen in improved teacher assessment quality, which in turn will improve student learning outcomes. More relevant and contextual assessments are expected to help students better understand the subject matter. Furthermore, this program aims to increase teacher confidence in implementing innovative assessments based on local potential. Through ongoing evaluation, this program is expected to have a significant positive impact on education in Pematang Nibung Village and serve as a model for other areas facing similar challenges.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the fine motor skills and creativity of lower-grade migrant children through collage craft mentoring at the Community Learning Center (PKBM PNF) at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The program was implemented over 26 days using a participatory, service-learning-based method, encompassing planning, outreach, practice, and evaluation. Children were trained in cutting, pasting, patterning, and adapting materials to suit their own ideas. Observations showed significant improvements in hand-eye synchronization, accuracy, patience, focus, and the ability to demonstrate creativity through collage work. Furthermore, this activity fostered social values ​​such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and independence. Therefore, collage craft mentoring is an educational, fun, and effective learning method in supporting the development of fine motor skills and creativity in lower-grade migrant children.

Abstract

The family is the first and primary educational environment for children. Mothers play a central role as educators within the family. However, in today's digital era, many Family Welfare Movement (PKK) mothers in Pamusian Village face challenges in assisting their children in learning and developing their character. This community service program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of PKK mothers in Pamusian Village in carrying out their family education function through mentoring methods. Activities included training, group discussions, and direct mentoring for 20 PKK members. Results showed a 78% increase in PKK mothers' understanding of educational techniques, digital literacy, and character education. PKK mothers were also able to develop a "PKK Learning House" program at the neighborhood level. Therefore, this mentoring program effectively strengthens the role of PKK mothers as family educators and is expected to impact the quality of children's education in Pamusian Village.
