Abstract

The economic and social imbalance is influenced by the uneven increase in population migration across various regions. This has led to the development of informal settlements, such as the Kebayoran Lama scavenger village. These locations have altered the city's urban landscape and impacted livelihoods, particularly health. The primary occupations in this village are scavengers and garbage collectors. This encourages the provision of public health services including free medical treatment. Interviews with village leaders to obtain primary data, while secondary data were obtained from interviews with the community. Then a qualitative method was used. Attended by 110 people. Then a qualitative method was used. Attended by 110 people, consisting of 60 men and 50 women. The results of this activity found that many people experienced itching (28.1%), flu (20.2%), flu with fever (13.3%), fever (21.1%), flu with cough (9.6%). The people who participated in free treatment were more men (52.6%) compared to women (43.9%), furthermore the average age of the people who participated in free treatment was 37 years. Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the still simple management of vegetable cultivation at MTs Hizbul Wathan Belapuranga, even though the partners already have potential in the form of tilapia cultivation ponds, school land, and student entrepreneurship activities. The previous vegetable cultivation had not been integrated with efficient agricultural technology so that production results were not optimal. This activity aims to develop a sustainable agricultural model through the integration of tilapia and vegetable cultivation with an aquaponics system and to improve the knowledge and skills of partners in school-based integrated cultivation management. The implementation method of the activity was carried out in a participatory manner through the stages of preparation, field observation, system design, installation, counseling, training, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. The target of the activity included groups of teachers and students involved in the management of school business units. The activity focused on introducing the aquaponics system, vegetable cultivation techniques, tilapia maintenance, and strengthening the management of simple school-based businesses. The results of the activity showed that 1 aquaponic installation unit had been built in the school environment with the type of vegetable cultivated being lettuce. The results of the activity showed that the aquaponic system could be a means of production, education, and strengthening school business units in a sustainable manner. This activity demonstrates that integrating tilapia and vegetable cultivation through an aquaponics system can be implemented as a model for school-based sustainable agriculture. The active involvement of teachers and students is a crucial element in strengthening the activity's success and opening up opportunities for developing more independent and sustainable school businesses. Keywords: aquaponics, tilapia cultivation, sustainable agriculture, school entrepreneurship

Abstract

Rumah Quran Hasanah is a Qur’anic learning institution that regularly implements programs to strengthen Qur’an reading and writing skills as well as surah memorization among its students. This community service activity was initiated in response to the need for a structured and sustainable Qur’anic learning culture, particularly in improving reading fluency, tajwid accuracy, and memorization abilities. The program aimed to describe the implementation of the KHaF strategy in the student development process at Rumah Quran Hasanah. The program was carried out through three main stages: monitoring student progress using memorization control cards, conducting regular halaqah-based learning sessions, and focusing learning materials according to a structured schedule. Activities were held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Monday and Wednesday sessions focused on strengthening Qur’an reading and writing skills, while Friday sessions emphasized surah memorization and prayer recitations. The program involved 22 students who were divided into three groups based on their respective competency levels. The results showed improvements in the Qur’an reading abilities of most participants, particularly in reading fluency and accuracy. In addition, students demonstrated better memorization achievements through consistent and well-monitored guidance. Over the past two years, several students have completed the recitation of the Qur’an more than once and were able to complete surah memorization within approximately six months. Abstract

Lack of understanding and practical skills regarding the procedures for handling corpses according to Islamic law remains a problem in Ganra District, Soppeng Regency. Heavy reliance on local religious leaders often hinders the prompt and appropriate handling of corpses. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve the theoretical understanding and psychomotor skills of Family Welfare Movement (PKK) members in corpse handling through a participatory approach. The PkM implementation used a peer-teaching training method, which included a pre-test, material presentation, expert demonstration, guided independent practice, and a post-test. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in participant capacity, with the average score jumping from 43.75 (low category) to 86.25 (very good category). The highest increase occurred in the technical aspect of shrouding, with a 123% increase. In addition to the numerical results, this method successfully transformed participants' psychological state from fear and doubt to confidence and independence through the use of egalitarian and familiar language. This activity contributed to the formation of an ecosystem of collective responsibility at the hamlet level. Skilled PKK cadres now provide an alternative solution for fulfilling fardu kifayah obligations, while reducing absolute dependence on senior religious figures in Ganra District.

Abstract

The phenomenon of diversity at the grassroots level often faces the challenge of rigid and exclusive religious understandings, which, if left unchecked, can fuel intolerance. In Ujung Village, Soppeng Regency, the Majelis Taklim (Islamic study group) is a strategic center for socio-religious interaction, yet the literary reinforcement of religious moderation values has not been optimally implemented in monthly religious study groups. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to ground the concept of religious moderation by strengthening religious literacy among Majelis Taklim members, thereby fostering an inclusive, tolerant, and balanced understanding of Islam (tawasuth). The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), which included socialization, interactive dialogue (halaqah), and literacy mentoring through discussion of religious moderation material. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the four pillars of religious moderation: national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, and accommodating local culture. Majelis Taklim members are now able to identify intolerant narratives and respond to them with a more moderate religious perspective. This activity contributes to strengthening the social resilience of the Ujung Village community against the potential for radicalism and establishes the Majelis Taklim as a driving force for interfaith harmony in Soppeng Regency.

Abstract

Managing a corpse is a collective obligation (fardu kifayah) for Muslims. However, in many communities, understanding of the procedures for handling a corpse in accordance with Islamic law is often limited or dominated by local traditions that do not necessarily align with Islamic legal standards. The limited number of competent practitioners (amirs) also hinders maintaining the quality of this worship. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to provide education and standardize procedures for handling a corpse from an Islamic legal perspective to improve the understanding and quality of worship in carrying out religious obligations in Uloe, Dua Boccoe District, Bone Regency. The activity used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method through three main stages: (1) Dissemination of theory regarding the laws of handling a corpse, (2) Technical training (workshop) covering practical aspects of washing, shrouding, praying, and burying the body, and (3) Mentoring and evaluation through independent simulations by participants. The results of the activity showed significant improvements in the cognitive and psychomotor aspects of the participants. The community now has a standardized reference that minimizes doubts in practice in the field. Furthermore, the formation of skilled community groups is expected to ensure the continuity of corpse management in accordance with the Sunnah (traditional Islamic law) in local communities. Standardizing corpse management procedures effectively increases community confidence and the quality of worship. Ongoing education is necessary to ensure Islamic legal literacy regarding corpse management is maintained from generation to generation.

Abstract

In the digital era, challenges in fulfilling children's rights have become increasingly complex. Technological advancements, along with social and economic changes, bring both positive and negative impacts on children's lives. On the one hand, technology provides children with broad access to information and learning opportunities; on the other hand, it also poses risks such as addiction, exposure to negative content, and cyberbullying. Therefore, it is important for parents to remain literate regarding current developments and to possess adequate knowledge and understanding. Bogor Regency has a high rate of early marriage and young-age divorce cases. This phenomenon also occurs in Sukaharja Village, where early marriage and young-age divorce have become common occurrences. In fact, these conditions constitute forms of violations of children's rights. In addition, nutritional deficiencies that hinder children’s optimal development remain a significant issue. Consequently, transformative efforts are needed through counseling and assistance programs for parents regarding positive parenting and children’s rights. The community service program conducted in Sukaharja Village targeted parents with early childhood and school-age children, who were divided into four groups consisting of eight participants in each group. The evaluation results showed an average increase in understanding of 46.3% from pretest to posttest. The science and technology products developed included educational modules, learning videos, and infographics, all of which were well received and have the potential to become sustainable learning resources for the community. The establishment of parent discussion groups through WhatsApp and regular meetings in Sukaharja Village, along with the village government’s commitment to adopting the materials into routine activities such as Posyandu and PKK meetings, demonstrates the sustainability potential of the program.
