Abstract

This study aims to observe and explore every aspect listed on the IDX since 2019 - 2023. This problem arises because of the characteristics of profit manager actions and the inconsistency of the results of the initial study. The approach used is quantitative by applying panel data regression, including classical assumption tests, descriptive analysis, f tests, t tests, and testing the coefficient of determination. The total sample is 21 companies determined from a purposive sampling of 64 companies. The information is obtained from secondary sources, and panel data regression analysis is carried out using the Eviews tool. The study results if each independent variable contributes to earnings management. It shows that each aspect determined and selected in this study does not contribute to earnings management actions. This study shows that profitability, leverage, and audit quality have no significant effect on earnings management in energy sector companies on the IDX. Profitability and leverage do not determine earnings management practices, while audit quality is more utilized to increase investor confidence than to limit manipulation of financial statements.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an understanding that research is not merely an academic formality but can also serve as a valuable asset in the world of entrepreneurship. The concept of Curiosity-Driven Entrepreneurship emphasizes that curiosity plays a crucial role in discovering business opportunities and creating innovations. Through research, students can sharpen their analytical skills, identify market trends, and explore sustainable business potentials. This study highlights success stories of entrepreneurs who started from a place of curiosity, such as the founder of Instagram who studied digital user behavior before creating a platform that has become a global business ecosystem, and Poison Coffee Shop, which successfully developed unique marketing strategies based on the exploration of trends and consumer preferences. By understanding how research can be applied in the business world, students are expected to shift their paradigm about research from a burdensome task to a strategic skill that can support their future success.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of good governance principles in the formation of Regional Regulations (Perda) in Indonesia with a focus on the aspects of transparency, public participation, and accountability. The research method uses a qualitative approach through document studies of 15 problematic Perda and in-depth interviews with 10 stakeholders in Bandung City and Sleman Regency. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of good governance principles is still low, where only 40% of regions are transparent in publishing Perda drafts, public participation reaches 25-30%, and accountability is recorded at 20%. The main obstacles include structural limitations (70% of regions do not have a policy analysis unit), cultural (bureaucratic resistance), and technical (limited human resource capacity). However, the study also identified good practices such as the E-Legislation system in Surabaya which increased youth participation by 40%, and the Perda Law Clinic in Yogyakarta which reduced problematic Perda by 35%. These findings conclude that institutional strengthening, increasing legislative capacity, and utilizing technology are the keys to realizing the formation of more participatory and accountable Perda. The study recommends three strategic steps: (1) the establishment of a regulatory analysis unit in each region, (2) technical training for Perda drafters, and (3) the development of a digital platform for public participation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus, which consists of three indicators—APIP Capability, SPIP Maturity, and TLRHP in the corruption prevention across 13 districts/cities governments in Central Sulawesi Province. Data analysis was conducted using WarpPLS 7.0 software to assess the effect of each variable on corruption prevention. The results of the study indicate that all three indicators have a significant influence on enhancing corruption prevention efforts. APIP plays a major role and holds significant responsibility in realizing accountable and transparent financial governance in government. In this regard, APIP serves as a bridge between the government and the public to build public trust in government institutions through proactive prevention efforts. The role of APIP is crucial in creating an environment that supports corruption prevention; therefore, commitment and consistency from local governments are required to improve APIP capabilities, SPIP maturity, and follow-up on Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) recommendations.

This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data. The research sample consisted of 13 district / city governments in Central Sulawesi Province with a total sample of 65. Data analysis using WarpPLS 7.0 software. The analysis results show that TLRHP has a significant positive impact on audit opinion, while SPI weakness and KPTHN have a significant negative impact. These results indicate that strengthening the internal control system, improving conformity with laws and regulations, and optimizing the implementation of audit recommendations are critical to improving the accountability and quality of local government financial reports

Abstract

One of the efforts to strengthen institutional governance and drive bureaucratic reform at the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is the implementation of a meritocracy system. This system aims to build competitive and professional human resources within the framework of good governance. In the bureaucratic reform agenda, meritocracy is crucial for promoting fairness and competence while minimizing nepotism, corruption, and transactional practices in job promotions. This study examines the effectiveness of the meritocracy system in promoting structural positions within BPS East Nusa Tenggara, focusing on echelon III and IV roles. It also explores supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using observation, document review, and interviews for data collection. Data analysis included reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Duncan's theory—goal achievement, integration, and adaptation—was used to assess effectiveness, while Grundmann’s merit principles—recruitment, selection, equity, retention, neutrality, and public interest—were applied to identify influencing factors. Findings indicate that the meritocracy system in BPS East Nusa Tenggara is still relatively ineffective. Key inhibiting factors include the absence of formal regulations at the echelon II level, inadequate assessment of non-technical qualifications, lack of interest in echelon IV roles, and limited budget to support merit-based practices. Suggested improvements include broader use of assessment centers, proposing additional budgets for external selection processes, and revising job profiles and allowances to enhance role attractiveness and employee welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of tourism product revitalization and word of mouth on tourists' visit decisions through the mediating role of destination image. The research was conducted in Rembangan Tourism Area, Jember, using a quantitative explanatory approach. Data were collected from 100 respondents who had visited the destination at least once, through purposive sampling technique. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method was employed for data analysis using SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results show that tourism product revitalization has a significant and positive effect on both destination image and visit decisions. Destination image also has a strong and positive impact on visit decisions. However, word of mouth does not show a significant influence on either destination image or visit decisions. Additionally, the moderating effect of destination image in the relationship between both independent variables and visit decision was not supported. These findings suggest that revitalizing tourism products is a more influential strategy for encouraging tourist visits, while destination image plays a critical role in enhancing the attractiveness of the tourism destination.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of social media marketing, product quality, and price on purchase intention among consumers of Elacof Apparel, a local fashion screen-printing brand based in Cirebon, Indonesia. The background of the study highlights a decline in Elacof’s sales, which may be associated with inconsistent digital promotion, mixed perceptions of product quality, and pricing mismatches. A quantitative approach was applied involving 91 respondents, selected through Slovin’s formula from a population of 1,026 consumers. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and interviews and analyzed through IBM SPSS 25 software. Findings indicate that social media marketing, product quality, and price have a positive and statistically significant influence on purchase intention—both individually and simultaneously. The regression model showed that these three variables jointly explained 39.2% of the variance in purchase intention. The study confirms that effective use of digital platforms, consistent product quality, and value-aligned pricing are key to enhancing consumer engagement and purchasing behavior. This research contributes to the literature on digital marketing and consumer behavior in the MSME fashion sector and provides practical insights for brand development. Future research is recommended to expand the model by including brand image, customer satisfaction, and perceived value.
