Abstract

The focus of this research is “How is the Ability to Write Observation Report Texts among Tenth-Grade Students of SMA Negeri 8 Kupang City?” This study aims to describe the competence of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 8 Kupang City in writing observation report texts. The study is based on the theoretical foundation of writing skills, specifically focused on the construction of observation report texts as the primary measurement instrument. By applying a qualitative descriptive methodology, the researcher analyzed students’ mastery of observation report texts, which are a type of text presenting factual, systematic, and objective data obtained through direct observation. The empirical findings from the data analysis of 25 respondents indicate that the students’ ability to compose such texts, while considering structural aspects and applicable linguistic features, has reached the competent category. This is evidenced by the results showing that 17 students, or 68%, achieved mastery learning by meeting the minimum passing criterion (KKM) of 75 or above, while 8 students, or 32%, did not achieve mastery learning or failed to meet the KKM.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji puisi "Sungai" karya Joko Pinurbo dengan menggunakan pendekatan semiotika struktural Ferdinand de Saussure. Puisi sebagai suatu sistem tanda, menciptakan makna melalui hubungan antara penanda dan petanda dalam konteks nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dan budaya. Hingga saat ini, belum ada peneliti yang secara khusus menganalisis puisi "Sungai" dengan pendekatan semiotika, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisi celah tersebut. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi adanya penghubung penanda dan petanda, serta menyoroti makna simbolik yang terkait dengan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan dan budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa simbolisme sungai dalam puisi ini mewakili doa ibu, perjalanan hidup anak, serta hubungan emosional yang mendalam antara ibu dan anak yang melampaui ruang dan waktu. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam bidang Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia khususnya dalam penerapan semiotika struktural sebagai pendekatan analisis puisi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe the ability to write short story texts of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Amanuban Timur. The focus of this study is to escribe the ability of students to write short story texts, such as orientation, resulatation, and resulatation by emphasizing the intrinsic and intirinsic elements contained in the writing. The research method used Is a qualitative descriptive method, by collecting data through short story text analysis and povididng performance tests showing that most students are in the capable category, with a totalof 19 students, 67,89%are considered capableof writing short stories, while stdetnstwhoareinthe unablecategory number9 students,namely32,2%. Factors that in flunce the ability to write short stories include interesetand reading. Limited reading materials that can motivate stuents to write, and teaching methods applied by teachers Based on these findingis, it is recommended that teacers optimize interactive and enjoyable learning strategies and provide a veriaty of reading materials that can stimulate students intereset.it is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a reference for improving students’short story writing skills at SMA Negeri 1 Amanuban Timur. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the use of language style in the short story collection " “ Reading GOD in a Single Question Word" by E. Nong Yonson. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis technique. The results show that the author uses twenty-six (26) types of language style. These styles function to deepen the reader’s emotions and emphasize the moral messages contained in each short story.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika sosial dan nilai pendidikan dalam novel Bandung Menjelang Pagi karya Brian Khrisna. Novel ini menggambarkan berbagai permasalahan kehidupan masyarakat, seperti hubungan sosial, konflik antartokoh, perjuangan hidup, serta nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang tercermin dalam perilaku tokoh-tokohnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Sumber data penelitian berasal dari kutipan-kutipan dalam novel yang berkaitan dengan dinamika sosial dan pendidikan. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik baca dan catat, sedangkan teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasi, menganalisis, dan menarik kesimpulan dari data yang ditemukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dinamika sosial dalam novel meliputi interaksi sosial, konflik sosial, solidaritas, dan perubahan perilaku tokoh akibat kondisi lingkungan. Selain itu, novel ini juga mengandung nilai-nilai pendidikan, seperti nilai moral, tanggung jawab, kerja keras, kepedulian sosial, dan sikap menghargai sesama.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze environmental representation in news texts through ecolinguistics and Critical Discourse Analysis. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method using reports on land clearing in Sikirang Tarabintang and protected forest fires around Lake Toba as data. The findings show that the land-clearing report tends to construct a positive image through diction, framing, and ideology that emphasize food security, legality, and economic benefits, while ecological impacts receive less attention. In contrast, the forest fire report portrays nature as a damaged entity that requires protection. In conclusion, media language is not neutral, but plays a role in shaping public perceptions of the environment, either by legitimizing environmental exploitation or by strengthening ecological awareness. Abstract

This study was motivated by the uneven student participation in Indonesian language learning on poetry material. Although the teacher had used strategies, media, and learning activities directed toward active learning, some students still tended to be passive when asked to ask questions, respond, or express their opinions. This study aimed to describe Indonesian language learning strategies in increasing student participation in poetry learning in grade XI at SMA Negeri 13 Kota Jambi. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects consisted of one Indonesian language teacher and 20 grade XI students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the teacher implemented learning strategies through the delivery of learning objectives, the use of PowerPoint and video media, and the connection of poetry material with students’ experiences. However, student participation remained situational and had not developed evenly. Therefore, learning strategies need to be optimized through guiding questions, directed discussions, and reflective feedback to encourage more active student participation in learning.

Abstract

Partisipasi siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di tingkat SMP masih menjadi tantangan, khususnya pada siswa kelas VII yang sedang bertransisi dari sekolah dasar dan rentan mengalami kecemasan sosial. Banyak siswa cenderung menunggu instruksi guru sebelum merespons, enggan mengangkat tangan, dan kurang berani menyampaikan pendapat, sehingga mencerminkan rendahnya inisiatif belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengidentifikasi faktor internal yang melatarbelakangi rendahnya inisiatif siswa kelas VII dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, (2) menganalisis faktor eksternal yang turut berkontribusi, serta (3) mendeskripsikan upaya guru dalam menangani permasalahan tersebut. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini berlandaskan pada konsep inisiatif belajar sebagai kemampuan memulai kegiatan belajar secara mandiri tanpa menunggu dorongan dari pihak lain yang erat kaitannya dengan kemandirian belajar dan partisipasi aktif. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung terstruktur, wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur, dan kajian dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan model analisis interaktif mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi, dengan keabsahan data dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber dan member checking. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rendahnya inisiatif siswa disebabkan oleh interaksi faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor internal meliputi kurangnya kepercayaan diri, kecemasan berbicara di depan umum, motivasi belajar yang rendah, dan keberagaman tipe kepribadian. Faktor eksternal meliputi metode mengajar yang belum memancing respons spontan, keterbatasan media interaktif, gangguan lingkungan, serta pengelolaan kelas yang belum merata. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peningkatan inisiatif siswa memerlukan pendekatan holistik mencakup strategi pembelajaran inovatif seperti pembelajaran kooperatif dan think-pair-share, ketersediaan fasilitas memadai, serta pembangunan iklim belajar yang aman secara psikologis.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the inner conflict of the protagonist in the drama Aku dan Hidupku by M. Alfin Zubaidi and colleagues using a psychoanalytic approach according to Sigmund Freud. In this drama, there is the character of Farid, a 15-year-old boy who is struggling with leukemia and facing various mental stress due to lack of attention from his family. The methodology applied in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach with a focus on psychoanalysis, which explores the structure of the character's psyche based on Freud's three main pillars: id, ego, and superego. Primary data sources come from the drama text Aku dan Hidupku, while secondary data include literature relevant to psychoanalytic theory and drama studies. The research findings show that the character of Farid is involved in a complex inner conflict between the drives of the id (the desire for affection, denial of the disease he suffers), ego (Farid's reaction to social reality), and superego (moral awareness strengthened by interactions with the spirit of Karina). This conflict culminates in a psychological change of the character from a state of despair to an understanding of the meaning of life. This study confirms that the drama script Aku dan Hidupku is rich in psychological elements that can be studied more deeply using Freud's psychoanalytic theory.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the changes in meaning that occur in the digital space. As time goes by and social and cultural developments have created new meanings in the digital space. This triggering various changes in meaning in the comment column of the Ruang Guru Academy of Champions episode 2 YouTube. The problem in this study is how the form of change in meaning in the comment column of the Ruang Guru Academy of Champions episode 2 YouTube and what factors cause changes in meaning. This study aims to explore and elaborate on the form of change in meaning in the comment column of the Ruang Guru Academy of Champions episode 2 YouTube. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with the content analysis method. The data in this study are the main comments that contain changes in meaning. The data source in this study is the Ruang Guru Academy of Champions Episode 2 YouTube. Data collection techniques in this study are documentation techniques, reading techniques, note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study are coding, classification, analyzing and finding relationships and compiling a draft report. The results of this study found 87 changes in meaning, changes in meaning expanded 51 data, narrowed 3 data, total changes 32 data and roughing 1 data. The conclusion of this study is that the most dominant changes in meaning extend, amounting to 51 data points, and one change in meaning, namely refinement, was not found. The most dominant factor causing changes in meaning is social development, with several other factors missing. This suggests that social media users prefer to use vocabulary that can describe various situations.
